This magnificent 19th-century Japanese cloisonné platter is an exceptional example of large-scale Japanese craftsmanship, measuring 14.25 inches, it one of the largest sizes produced in this intricate art form in that period. The technique, pattern and edging are age markers into the early to mid 19th century, however it is unsigned, common for that time period. The platter features a floral motif, with various flowers meticulously separated by fine brass pieces. The delicate pink background sets a serene scene, while the richly colored blooms and soaring cranes add a sense of movement and life to the piece. The back edges of the platter are adorned with an ornate, repeating brass line pattern among blue enamel that enhances its appeal. There is a small impact mark and some expected crazing, only minor for its age!!

Beautifully executed with hand painted raised enamel and gilt. Largest vase is 9.25 inches and has an unfounded marking on the bottom as shown. The smaller vase is 6 inches a,d unmarked. Both have crazing throughout adding to the antique aesthetic and authenticity. Both appear to be late 19th century or earlier in pattern and technique. No damages seen.

These are handmade terra cotta/ stone ware Chinese Fensghui Foo Dog/Shiwan/ Foo Lions in the famous traditional Ceramic sculpture style - " Shiwan". It has precise details on the body and is colorful glazed with green as the main color. The details are in 3d relief/dimensional format which creates the character of the region in grand form. These foo dog/lions have larger eyeballs, larger ears, and unique charm. They are not only a decoration figure, but also a collection piece. Both face left and have differences apparent. One is fully intact with tortoise shell covered tail. One unfortunately is missing his tortoise shell. Both have normal age cracking for the medium used. A couple of chips are also present. Both are VERY large and somewhat heavy. Between the two the average measurement is 21 x 16 x 10 inches. Neither are marked but in style, glaze and craftsmanship along with certain details date them anywhere from the late 19th century up to WWII era. * Foo Dogs in Feng Shui, also known as Fu Dogs, are not actually dogs, but lions. These sculptures depict mythical lions said to protect a place from evil spirits or energies. Foo Dogs are symbolic Feng Shui "cures" or enhancements that are placed on the sides of a front entrance to create a feeling of protection. They typically face each other in a matching pair of male and female depictions.

3 piece nesting bowls. These are very nice Petrus Regout Maastricht Bowls in the Honc Chinoiserie pattern that dates to 1890. Each features Asian temples with trees and figures in greens, rusts and golds on a white ground. It has a scrolled interior rim design and a small footing done in transfer with hand painted accent elements. Each base is marked with the Phoenix stamp from the pottery that was used in 1890. The largest bowl measures 5 x 9.75 inches. Appealing crazing, staining and transfer wear add to the antique appeal.

2 Japanese Igezara style plates with Impressed markings on the bottom. Meiji period early 1900’s. Largest of the 2 is 12 inches. Both have minor wear and large charger has a tiny edge chip as shown. * The generally accepted period Igezara was made is 1880 - 1910 but may have had some early and late examples. The book Igezara by Alistair Seaton is the main reference book on this ware. Fine porcelain such as the colorful Imari and Kutani were hand painted whereas "igezara" items were produced by a technique that transferred a design after which the plate was glazed. The name "igezara" comes from two Japanese words. - "Ige" means "notch or thorn" and the term refers to the pie-like indentations around the rim of many of the plates. "Zara" or "sara" means "plate" in Japanese. "Igezara" were thus mass produced for everyday use though only limited numbers have survived today. Whereas many items of Imari and Kutani were produced for the export market, "igezara" were made primarily for the Japanese market.

These are very nice Meiji period Japanese cloisonné enamel vases, decorated in the Ginbari style. They feature very pretty, almost luminous, panels that incorporate butterflies and florals in their design - the panels remind me somewhat of stained glass windows. The interior is enameled in a bluish teal color and a deep green. One vase is lobed and both appear to be done in bronze. Tallest is 7.5 inches. Both unmarked. Minor wear to enamel.
