Back cover has a chip tear bend to bottom right corner, one chip to the top left tip and edge wear to perimeter, intro page has a chip bend to top left corner, page 21 and 22 super faded stain to bottom corner tip, last page has a tear to the top right corner but the rest are even and concise mostly, cover has some minor faint surface dings, a chip to the bottom corner near spine, a tear to the right center edge, and some creasing and spine wear, pictures of every page have been provided.

The first appearance of Jinku of the Lava Men and King Basallo in the 23 page early epic "The Invasion Of The Lava Men," this early A team sample begins the first letters fan page as well, Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 5 from May of 1964, the first appearance of the Living Rock in this Rick Jones / Cap escapade. Cover has a very faded crayon or pencil marking to the title bubble, slight wear to the spine and top edge, folded bottom right corner tip, the frontispiece has some faint browning as does the back cover that has a brief bit of wear to the bottom of its spine, but very nice inners otherwise and great even edges elsewhere, pictures of every page are included.

Baron Zemo, The Executioner and Enchantress at their early evilest with this Simon Williams spectacular — the first appearance and death of Wonder Man in "The Coming of The…Wonder Man," Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 9 from October of 1964, parts of Wonder Man’s brain would be grafted and later used to form parts of The Vision, also the first appearance of Baron Zemo’s headquarters in this Don Heck delight. Backing is clean and sharp with only a super faint bit of wear to the top edge, inner pages are awesome and even, off-white and concise with only a few faint dings to bottoms if any, excellent cover with only super brief creases to spine and a few faint dings above title.

Monumental comic moments with these early A team treasures, this one’s of course no different; the first use of the catchphrase ‘Avengers Assemble’, the first appearance of Immortus, the first comic to show that Captain America’s shield could withstand a blow from Mjolnir, also the first appearance of The Teen Brigade with this Don Heck / Dick Ayers dazzler — Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 10 from November of 1964, "The Avengers Break-Up" and “The One and Only Cap!” Back cover has a small scuff to the left edge, some dings, tears and wear to the perimeter edges and an unnecessary piece of tape to the bottom of spine, mostly great even edges and corners to the inner pages, however intro page has more tape to its spine, tape to the staples on cover even though they’d have been fine without it, a folded bottom corner tip, and some brief surface creases to the title, right center edge, spine and bottom edge, as with every one of these early Avengers issues pictures of every page included.

Brilliance, radiance and remarkable continues on here, Iron Man is declared on a leave of absence from the Avengers as he is missing, and now that they are weaker, Kang tries to defeat them again — He creates a replica robot of Spider-Man, because of his vast range of powers, the first appearance of the Spider-Man Android, a superb Marvel Masterwork Pin-Up of Kang the Conqueror via legend Don Heck, and an immediately recognized and respected cover from legends Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers — Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 11 from December of 1964, "The Mighty Avengers Meet Spider-Man." Some yellowed tape to top and bottom of spine, chipping to bottom edge, left corner tips and some faded staining to back cover with some slight browning, cover has some slight color fading, brief creases to the spine and a few tiny surface dot dings, some browning to inners and one small chip to bottom of page 10 while the rest of the pages are even and concise.

"This Hostage Earth" sees sensational A team moments one after the other, the first appearance of Monk as Mole Man messes with the titans of legend — Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 12 from January of 1965, this issue includes a letter in the letters column from a 16-year-old George R. R. Martin, creator of the Game of Thrones book series. A fantastic clean and sharp backing with only some super faint edge wear and chipping to the left edge, inner pages are off-white clean and very nice almost everywhere, cover remains stupendous with brief wear to the top edge and a very faded dated stamping to title.

The intro Kirby splash page alone is stuff of astonishing brilliance let alone the rest of this glorious gem, Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 3 from January of 1964, the third appearance of The Avengers in "The Avengers Meet Sub-Mariner," The Avengers try to locate the Hulk as he could be a menace to society. They fail to catch him, and the Sub-Mariner allies himself with the Hulk in a bid to rule over humanity. While battling the Avengers, the Hulk reverts to his Bruce Banner persona and is forced to abandon the Sub-Mariner. Unable to beat the Avengers single-handedly, the Sub-Mariner then manages to flee into the ocean, and let’s toss in cameos of the uncanny X-men to make sure it’s as marvelous as possible, eh? Though not established yet, this is the first issue where Banner transforms into the Hulk under high-stress levels. This would soon become his most famous and his only way to transform into the green-skinned Savage Hulk. One surface scuff to the bottom left, a minor rip to left edge and some slight surface staining and wear to the top edge of back cover, even clean and concise inner pages mostly, some creasing wear to the spine and top and bottom right corners.

About as iconic as Marvel comics can get…The first Silver Age appearance of Captain America and Bucky as Cap officially joins the team in this brilliant epic — Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 4 from March of 1964, "Captain America Joins The Avengers!" The first appearance of Baron Zemo, D’Bari, Starhammer, and Vuk, plus origin of Bucky and Captain America explained in this landmark. Some browning, foxing and slight wear to the spine and top edge of back cover, an odd factory miscut sees the first half of inner pages longer than the second half after the centerfold, a minor ding to the bottom of page 14 and a tiny folded corner tip to intro page bottom corner but the rest of the inner pages are sharp edged with wonderful corners, browning to frontispiece, slight browning to the cover, slight wear and a tiny surface scuff to the bottom left corner area.

And here it is in all its glory and brilliance… Earth’s mightiest super-heroes in their beginning and first appearance, a monumental, iconic and magnificent book that still resonates and radiates with all its wonder — Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue 1 from September of 1963, the origin of the team as Ant-Man, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and Wasp teamup against Thor with the Fantastic Four not far from the action, also the first appearances of Willie Bishop, Bobby Sanchez, Keibler’s Circus, Charlie Gaston, The Rock Trolls, the Sea Of Mist and The Isle Of Silence. A cover that has been acclaimed and homaged numerous times, a true epic that will only grow with importance as time continues. Back cover is white, superb and sharp with a faint yellowing and a minor faded crease dent to the spine vertically, inner pages are even, sharp cornered and concise pretty much everywhere, cover has slight creasing to its spine, two surface dings to top center above title and a very ver faint crease down the middle. Issue comes with a Showcase Sealer graded slab-like jewel case. This is a very great copy of this gem all things considered, what a beauty.

The first appearance of Beverly Switzler and Pro-Rata The Financial Wizard, but everyone knows the terrific all resides with the Quacktastic super-star in his own self-titled series: Marvels Howard The Duck volume 1 issue number 1 from January of 1976, as Spidey and J. Jonah assist with the action in "Howard The Barbarian!" The inner imagery by legend Frank Brunner is just stunning. A slight brief bit of print rubbing to the perimeter and one green ink mark to top edge that echoes through to top of issue but the backing is nice as well as the majority of inner pages, a slight bit of nubbing to the bottom right corner tip and very very minor wear to the spine.

You can almost hear that frightening guttural hunting sound and see that small red triangle crosshairs with "The Heat," the first appearance of the Predator in comic books — Dark Horse’s The Predator volume 1 issue number 1 from June of 1989, a wonderful film adaptation that has the character going to darker and deadlier extremes via artist and writer team Chris Warner and Mark Verheiden. White and blemish-less inner pages that are crisp clean and concise, backing is beautiful and cover is near perfect with only a few tiny dot dings near the center of spine, a terrific copy of this landmark.

The Joker and Harley Quinn try to murder Commissioner Gordon during the Commissioner's mandatory physical, but are quickly thwarted by Batman, who accuses the Joker of having grown sloppy and predictable. Nevertheless, the demented duo escape Batman's clutches, and both parties retire to lick their wounds, preparing for the next round in this beautiful Bruce Timm and Paul Dini delight — DC’s Batman Adventures Special "Mad Love" from February of 1994, this is the first printing cover, the origin of Harley Quinn, the first appearance of Joan Leland and this issue won Best Single Issue in the 1994 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. A faint bit of print rubbing to the bottom near spine but other than that this book is beautiful, sharp and superb everywhere.

The 64 page spectacle that could’ve at least a little bit inspired Tom Hardy for all we know, the first appearance and origin of Antonio Diego aka Bane plus the first appearances of his henchmen Birdy, Zombie and Trogg: DC’s Batman Vengeance Of Bane one-shot from January of 1993, Chuck Dixon to the terrific story and the legend Glenn Fabry to the now iconic and unmistakable cover. Take a look at this dazzler in the pictures, it’s a near mint gem, clean, sharp, white and very very nice.

The death of Egghead, the first appearance of Lightning and a bunch more outstanding occurrences with this Wally Wood / Dan Adkins / Mike Sekowski run in the beginning series — Tower Comics Thunder Agents volume 1 issues 2, 4, 7 and 10 spanning January, April, August and November of 1966, a series that would be rehashed and revisited numerous times. Condition issues are as follows: issue 2 has some minor surface scuffs to cover, some brief print rubbing to back cover but concise and sharp inners; creasing to the spine and perimeter corners of issue 4, a rip and a stain splotch plus print rubbing to back of issue 4, issue 7 has a tear to the bottom of spine, nubbing to the bottom corner tip and some sporadic surface rubbing to the perimeter of cover, some nubbing to the bottom corner tip of inner pages, a stamp to top right corner and creasing wear around the edges of cover of issue 10, print rubbing and foxing to its cover.

Astonishing and awesome and not just because of the astounding Alex Ross cover, this is the first canonical appearance of Harleen Frances Quinzel aka Harley Quinn to DC continuity and this gem was also referenced in the Suicide Squad feature film from 2016 and an episode of the Gotham streaming television series — DC’s Batman Harley Quinn one-shot from August/October of 1999 via Paul Dini. Clean, sharp, smooth and beautiful everywhere with this gem, a superb copy. This book is so taut and fresh, inner page photos will be limited at best to preserve the condition and not bend covers or inners.

The first appearance of Grendel Prime and the first Grendel for Dark Horse Comics, this was a darker more deadlier and for adults take on the Grendel lore and with staggering covers by Simon Bisley, inner writing from the womdeful creator Matt Wagner and imagery by Patrick McEown, this slaughtering lot collects the beginning first five issues — Dark Horse Grendel War Child issues 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 spanning August to December of 1992. All five issues are impeccable and superb in condition with the only blemishes being a few finger print smudges to cover of issue 3 and a few very faint scattered surface specks to top area of issue 1’s cover.

The sensational chunk and exciting end of this dystopian future dust-covered saga, Dark Horse’s Grendel War Child numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 and the finale issue 10 spanning January to June of 1993, the epic conclusion to War Child reveals the final fate of Jupiter and Grendel-Prime, as Jupiter is reunited with his sister to take on the corrupt government headed by their mother and with that typical tremendous Bisley cover pieces and Matt Wagner framework. Again, all five issues are beautiful, clean sharp and crisp without a major blemish to any of them.

What a wonderful and somewhat scarcely seen gem! The first appearance of Evil Ernie, first appearance of Lady Death and first ever published work from soon-to-be leader and CEO of Chaos Comics, Eternity Comics Evil Ernie issue number 1 from December of 1991, a Brian Pulido creation with wondrous Steven Hughes inner B/W art. Ernie would of course go on to become Chaos Comics’ staple signature character and a gruesome and ghouly cool character. One faint faded crease to the bottom right corner, a few tiny brief ones to the spine and one tiny ding to the left of logo, back cover is blemish free and clean and inner pages are concise, sharp and smooth everywhere. A very delightful copy of this landmark key issue!

Continuing on with the limited first series and capping it off with the conclusion but also most importantly issue 2 featuring the captivating first cover appearance of Lady Death ever, Eternity Comics’ Evil Ernie volume 1 issues 2, 3, 4 and 5, spanning January to April of 1992, the beginnings of Brian Pulido’s first works for the titular terrorizing character. All four issues are in sensational, sharp and clean shape with little to no major blemishes, one tiny surface ding to the back near spine on issue 2 and 5.

Superman first landed on the planet Earth in 1938, an inveterate champion of the downtrodden and oppressed, his principles and virtues reflected the imaginations of his two teenage creators and the Depression-era world in which they lived. Chronicle Books and Les Daniels’ The Superman Masterpiece Edition from 1999: a spectacular tribute to the rise of the world’s first, greatest, and most-loved super hero. This ultra-deluxe package features an exclusive statue of Superman; an accurately sized, color reprint of the first issue of Supermans own comic book from 1939; and a lavishly illustrated, color hardcover book by best-selling author Les Daniels detailing Supermans Golden Age. This supremely collectible commemoration offers a nostalgic view of the '30s, '40s, and '50s, when the Man of Steel captured the world’s imagination. Besides some slight dust and one tiny nubbing to the bottom corner tip of opening flap, entire package is like-new and looks to have never been used or opened, a superb Supes time capsule of Smallville’s favorite.

Depicted exactly as exciting as they were back with the famed 1960’s television series, Kato as Bruce Lee and Van Williams as the titular hero, a figure set featuring the characters perfectly with a delightful sculpt and resin mold, measuring 10 inches, box measuring around 13 inches — Medi Com Toys and Sideshow Collectibles The Green Hornet figure set from 1999. Box looks to have never been opened, some minor surface scuffs to the sides, some more to the front near logo and sides, slight tip wear in spots, a few super tiny scuffs to bubble.

A radical and remarkable 14 part event that crossed over numerous series and titles and was a spectacle for sure in its day, so much so there was a video game adapted from it, a pinball machine, clothing, a theme park attraction, the recent Venom Let There Be Carnage film, plus a few other series and one-shots with the same title down the road, Maximum Carnage certainly had a hold of the industry for a brief period and still maintains that nostalgia. You had to collect different issues through numerous series to complete the saga, so having it all here and complete together takes all the hard work away and makes it much easier! Marvels Maximum Carnage spanned Amazing Spider-Man, Web Of Spider-Man, Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man and other series throughout 1993, a cool creation from Ron Lim and Tom DeFalco, it certainly helped build a huge following for Cletus Kasady and Eddie Brock (Venom). All issues are awesome and pristine in condition with only a few books have some very minor edge wear if at all. What a gory glorious blood soaked Symbiote grab!

Set in an alternate DC universe in which superheroes are abundant but heroism and morality is rare, the astonishing Alex Ross left such an incredible impact with his take on these iconic characters aplenty: Kingdom Come is a four-issue comic book miniseries published in 1996 by DC Comics under their Elseworlds imprint. It was written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross and painted in gouache by Ross, who also developed the concept from an original idea, here collects the complete limited series all four issues, and featuring the first appearance of Iris West as Kid Flash, Magog, Wonder Woman’s Golden Eagle Armor and so so many other characters first appearances with this vivid version. All four books are beautiful, sharp and clean, with only one tiny dot ding to bottom of issue 3’s cover, these books are so fresh and taut inner page photos will be limited to not stretch or wear any covers of backings.

A Dream within a Dream but ever so dazzling so, written by New York Times bestselling author Neil Gaiman (Anansi Boys, American Gods), with art by Sam Kieth (BATMAN: SECRETS) and Mike Dringenberg and a cover by Dave McKean (Mirrormask), this is the unforgettable issue the introduced the modern-day mythology of Morpheus, the Endless, and so much more, the stupendous series that captured a huge fan base begins here with DC’s The Sandman issue number 1 from January of 1989, including the first appearance of titular character Morpheus aka Dream and a ton more lessers, "Sleep Of The Just," showcases Neil Gaiman and Sam Kieth at their bests. Issue is superb with some faint nubbing to bottom left corner tip to cover, minor edge wear, back cover is white and perfect and inner pages are proper clean, even and sharp. What a delight!

The first appearance and origin of Xenomorphs aka Aliens in comics PLUS the first appearance of Aliens Versus Predator in these two proper gems that are so terrific they belong to be together — Dark Horse Presents volume 1 issues 24 from November of 1988 and issue 36 from February of 1990. Issue 36 has an ultra awesome pin-up style back cover. Both of these issues are gem, clean, concise, sharp and fantastic with no major concerns or condition issues whatsoever.

Not considered canonical to DC Batman but it was a brilliantly written and drawn saga, DC’s Dark Knight Strikes Again or DK2 from Frank Miller and Lynn Varley from December of 2001 to February of 2002, the complete three issue limited series in one Gotham grab here, a smattering of first appearance to this continuity and super cameos like the JLA, Catgirl and many others. All three TPB sized soft cover issues are spectacular in condition with only some extremely minor surface wear spots.

Before there was the DK2 there was the four issue limited series that touched a fandom and struck an industry with stupendous imagery and moments, now stuff of legend and this landmark series has even influenced films, television shows, other comic series and way beyond — DC’s Batman The Dark Knight Returns from Frank Miller and Lynn Varley issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 complete series, all four being first printings (if these were a second or third printing it would state so on info to date and publication info on frontispiece, first printings either say first printing or make note of it at all, much like these) from 1986. A slight few faint and brief creases to the spine of issue 1, but these four books all remain like-new and supremely Fine, sharp and clean everywhere.

"Tip Toe Through The Tusla" sees a unique story for the greatest pair of paranormal investigators ever seen, Mulder and Scully in Topps’ The X-Files Wizard 1/2 Edition from 1996, certificate of authenticity is included. Mulder and Scully investigate a series of murders that appear to be the work of a comatose man. Mulder believes the murderer is using a Tulpa, an ancient Tibetan ritual that creates a spiritual "copy" of one's self, a spiritual projection of the host body. Now Mulder must find who is controlling the Tulpa before it claims its last victim. Comic and certificate are in outstanding like-new condition with no blemishes.

The world’s most popular robot hero and the talk show ghost host with the most paired together here with their first issues — Now Comics The Original Astroboy number 1 from 1987 and Comico Company Space Ghost number 1 from 1987 as well. The Space Ghost issue features the first appearances of Mostar and Brak and a 5 page article on the development of early TV shows, plus it won the 1987 Eisner award for Best Art Team (Steve Rude, Willie Blyberg, and Ken Steacy). Astonishing clean and sharp copies the both of them and in pristine condition.

"The New Teen Titans" is just that and tremendously so, the earliest chronological appearance of the team formed together in this issue their first canonically, the first appearance of Ravager, second appearances of Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, plus a cool Bruce Wayne cameo and Beast Boy begins calling himself the Changeling in this George Perez / Marv Wolfman Titan testament that features a true terrific Dick Giordano cover — DC’s The New Teen Titans volume 1 issue 1 from November of 1980. One or two minor dot specks to the cover and backing but they’re white and sharp mostly elsewhere, inner pages have some browning but are concise and even.

The transcending Kitty Pryde is welcomed into the mutant academy in this phenomenal Chris Claremont, John Byrne and Terry Austin gem — "Something Wicked This Way Comes," the first appearances of Heather Hudson (later becomes Guardian, then Vindicator), Kitty Pryde as Sprite as she joins the X-Men, Stevie Hunter, and the first appearance of Wolverine's brown and tan costume — Marvels Uncanny X-men volume 1 issue number 139 from November of 1980. A faint bit of nubbing to bottom of spine but cover remains sharp and smooth, fantastic inners and blemish free white sharp backing, a VF/NM indeed.

The fourth overall appearance of Deathstroke The Terminator in this Walter Simonson, Chris Claremont and Terry Austin wonder, "Apokolips…Now!" The source wall has been breached and the Marvel and DC universes have partially combined, creating a menacing alliance that threatens to destroy everything: the Dark Phoenix and Darkseid! Reluctantly, the New Teen Titans and the X-Men band together in order to defeat this potent force for the sake of the universe — Marvel and DC Present Uncanny X-men and The New Teen Titans volume 1 issue 1 from 1982. A few super duper tiny creases to the spine and a slight tiny bit of nubbing to bottom of spine, everywhere else is clean, sharp and excellent with this gem.

Three separate tremendous DC tales of thrills with this epic but what makes this gem so glorious is the first ever appearance of Cyborg, Raven, Starfire and the first ever appearance of the New Teen Titans! DC Comics Presents volume 1 issue number 26 from October of 1980, plus the first appearance of Silas Stone and Archon via legends George Perez, Jim Starlin and Marv Wolfman. Clean, sharp and concise inners, delightful white backing and beautiful cover makes for a super delightful copy.

A few fantastic fables of snikt-tacular segments as this Marvel morsel includes the first appearance of the Weapon X Program and the first appearance of James Howlett as Experiment X plus the first appearance of Carol Hines and Doctor Cornelius in this now landmark Wolvie gem, long before the X-Men, before even Wolverine there is simply Logan, the mutant — Marvel Comics Presents volume 1 issue 26 from March of 1991, the brilliant Barry Windsor-Smith would sharpen his skills and establish a much-loved and acclaimed take with Wolverine with this series. This is another superb copy with only one blemish being a fade minor finger print smudge to the right center edge of cover.

A mysterious religious cult enters Gotham City and begins to make moves against politicians and major players even making an attempt on Commissioner Gordon's life and it’s up to Batman to stop them, but they look to make the Dark Knight one of their own, in this outstanding limited series from legends Jim Starlin and Bernie Wrightson, and here it is complete with all four books — DC’s Batman The Cult issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 from August, September, October and November of 1988. All four of these taut TPB style’d issues are stunning clean and sharp copies with no major blemishes.

A magnificent miniseries of monstrous Cyberdine menace and Kryptonian magnitude as the Man Of Steel must engage with the cyborgs of future terror, a complete lot of the limited series here from Alan Grant and Steve Pugh, Dark Horse’s Superman Vs The Terminator: Death To The Future issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 spanning December of 1999 to March of 2000. All four of these thrill-packed issues are sharp and sensational in condition, clean and smooth with no major or even minor blemishes.

John Romita Jr. and Fabien Nicieza took the time traveling gun-slinging futuristic warrior Nathan Summers to different levels of awesome with this two part miniseries seeing him against the Mutant Liberation Front, Marvels Cable: Blood and Metal Part 1 and 2 from October and November of 1992, this lot collects both issues plus another second copy of issue 2, 3 books in total. All three issues are tremendous in shape, clean and sharp, nice inner pages, great delightful backings.

"Portrait Of A Psychopath" begins this iconic limited series that helped rocket everyone’s favorite chain-wielding, cigar smoking, cursing bastich to a fan-favorite height — DC’s Lobo number 1 from November of 1990 via the treasured team of Simon Bisley, Keith Giffen and Alan Grant. Some super faint creases and a very faint surface dings to the top right corner of cover but this bludgeoning book is a beauty with spectacular inner pages and wonderful white back cover, too.

I’ve personally always told friends and family this was the fifth greatest Batman story in my humble and honest opinion and let countless buddies borrow the hardcover and TPBs since decades ago, a true astonishing series from the treasured and unforgettable team of Tim Sale and Jeph Loeb, DC’s Batman Dark Victory issues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 spanning September of 1999 to May of 2000, the first half chunk of the series with that unmistakable and utterly amazing imagery from Sale as this tale touches so many highlights and villain moments. All six of these books are beauties condition wise as well, all copies are superb, sharp and clean.

Starlin, Decarlo, Cockrum…but everyone knows what makes this Bat delight such a beauty; the term iconic gets tossed around but it’s appropriate as can be for this unmistakable and unforgettable cover by Todd McFarlane — DC’s Batman volume 1 issue number 423 from September of 1988, one of McFarlane’s beginning Bat covers after DC number 576, but this one the more memorable for many a collector and fan. There’s a faint bit of nubbing to spine bottom and a few super faint creases to spine, back cover is sensational and inner pages are even, clean and concise with only a few minor dings to bottoms.

The fourth part and fantastic finale to the phenomenal "A Death In The Family" saga features this unforgettable and legendary Joker cover by the magnificent Mike Mignola with inner workings by Jim Aparo and Jim Starlin, what a team — DC’s Batman volume 1 issue number 429 from January 1989, editor Dennis O’Neil also comments on the vote to kill Robin in his editorial. A stunning copy with only the faintest wear to the spine and slightest browning to back cover perimeter edges in a spot or two.

No explanation or introduction necessary for this iconic and legendary gem, but we'll do one anyhow! Easily one of the most recognizable and remarkable Joker stories ever told, "The Killing Joke" provides another origin story for the supervillain the Joker, loosely adapted from the 1951 story "The Man Behind the Red Hood!", which was written by Batman co-creator Bill Finger. The Joker's supposed origin is presented via flashback, while simultaneously depicting his attempt to drive Jim Gordon insane and Batman's desperate attempt to stop him. The mad scientist writer Alan Moore and incredible illustrator Brian Bolland mined Gotham gold for this tale, DC’s The Killing Joke from 1988. The edges and corners are sharp and clean, as are the inner pages, the only condition issue being a slight warping to the book faintly, mostly to the back cover which is difficult to photo but it’s there.

Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson having to endure the beginning of "Torment Part 1" as the Lizard and Calypso await to create agony and anger in this Todd McFarlane Spidey spectacular, Marvels Spider-Man number 1 from August of 1990, a legendary landmark cover that has been referenced on several tribute comic covers, video games, clothing and other merchandise aplenty. This is a still-sealed Collector’s Copy and the bagging is still intact and not punctured or torn, only some marker marking to the top left of the actual bag, comic inside seems to be as clean as kept.

The treacherous coin-flipping Harvey Dent behind the damage and dastardly deeds to this dynamite saga, "A Lonely Place of Dying" is a Batman storyline written by Marv Wolfman with illustrations by George Perez and Jim Aparo. Published in 1989 as a crossover between Batman and New Titans, the story introduces Tim Drake (first appearance as Robin in the finale issue Batman #442), who becomes the third Robin following the death of Jason Todd in A Death in the Family. This is of course five issues completing the saga spanning DC’s Batman and The New Teen Titans. All five issues remain excellent with amazing edges, corners, concise clean inner pages and wonderful sharp backings, the only minor blemish being a tiny tear to the bottom edge of backing to Batman number 442, the Jason Todd Robin issue.

All four fantastic parts together to complete Larry Hama and Mark Texeira’s magnificent take on the beastly Victor Creed showcased like never before with astonishing painted cover by Tex and including first appearance and origins of Creed’s family — Marvels Sabretooth: Death Hunt issue 1, 2, 3 and 4 spanning August into December of 1993. Phenomenal copies everywhere to them is sharp and clean, only even minor blemish being some extremely faint creases and dings to spines, minor edge wear.

"Mansion Of The Misbegotten," “The Killer Shadow,” and “One Challenger Must Die,” three tremendous tales of the eerily excellent and extraordinary entity known as The Phantom Stranger as he crosses paths with Gotham’s greatest, DC’s The Brave And The Bold volume 1 issue number 98 from 1971, truly stunning stuff from Jim Aparo, Nick Cardy and Bob Haney. Cover has some minor wear to the bottom edge and bottom right tip also to the top left corner, brief print rubbing to a few perimeter edges of back cover but it’s nice and white otherwise, great inner pages with only a few dings seldomly.

The first appearance and origin of Go Mifune aka Mach GoGoGo aka everyone’s favorite pedal-to-the-metal speedster, Speed Racer appears here first in the United States with this gem, plus his equal and evil adversary Racer X (Rex Racer) with his first issue specimen on his own — Now Comics Speed Racer number 1 from September of 1987, and Now’s Racer X number 1 from September of 1988. Both issues are pristine and beautiful copies from cover to backing, with only one minor blemish being a small crease scuff to the bottom left corner of backing to Racer X.

The smooth acetate cover shines with this tremendous creator William Tucci double cover and the slick inner pages are amazing as well, Wizard really outdid themselves making these Ace Editions, showcased here is the Wizard Ace Edition number 10 Shi number 4 from 1996 a beauty from Crusade Entertainment featuring the first appearance of Tomoe. Book is clean,beautiful and pristine, which says a lot because the acetate cover is easy to damage. What a delightful copy.

Gene Colan, John Buscema, Gerry Conway, John Romita Jr., Gray Morrow, Roy Thomas….I mean it’s a laundry list of legends with this absolute landmark — the first appearance and origin of Man-Thing in the beginning and beautiful Curtis’ Savage Tales volume 1 issue 1 from May of 1971, Conan The Barbarian slaughtering, Ka-Zar scouring and other tales aplenty with this magnificent mag. Condition wise it remains very nice, some very minor creases to the spine, right corners and bottom left to cover, excellent inner pages that are clean and concise, back cover has some slight waving to the staples surface (which is often typical), a number stamping to bottom, and a rip to the top right edge.

Worth the price of admission alone for the beautiful double splash page to page 18 and 19 and the beautiful Boris Ballejo cover, but the beauty doesn’t stop there with this gem — Curtis’ Savage Sword Of Conan volume 1 issue number 1 from August of 1974, the fourth appearance of fiery rouge vixen Red Sonja and with stunning Neal Adams/John Buscema/Gil Kane/BWS artwork throughout. Some very faint and brief surface waving and print rubbing to edges on cover, outstanding off-white inner pages and backing but back cover has a pencil marking to the top right corner and some scattered dot stains.

The typical terrific murderer’s row of art and writer titans of the industry with these marvelous mags, the next four steps for the sword and sorcery slaughterer here — Curtis Comics Savage Tales volume 1 issues 2, 3, 4 and 5 spanning October of 1973 into July of 1974, Conan, Red Sonja, Kull and others are their most brutal and fiercest. All four of these epics remain excellent in shape, clean and sharp covers, great inner pages and proper nice backings.

Talk about astonishing and astounding, Alex Ross dazzles and delights with this limited series of much acclaim and appreciation — Marvels…well, Marvels Book One, Book Two, Book Three, Book Four and Book Zero, the complete series from August to April of 1994, amazing artwork as ever throughout this one with the acetate covers. Some slight moments of wear and minor surface scuffs here and there.

The wonderful Wally Wood and Paul Levitz provide the power packed action for this go-round with the Justice Society Of America, DC’s All Star Comics volume 1 issue number 64 from February of 1977, "Yesterday Begins Today," The Shining Knight gets the Justice Society to return with him to the time of ancient Camelot, which is besieged by what appear to be Roman soldiers--but which are really robots controlled by Vandal Savage, so jump into that Time Vortex! Cover remains brilliant and spotless even (look at that spine), backing is white and superb and inner pages are even and concise, a really nice clean copy this one is.

Two proper perfect Phil Norwood covers for this presentation, half of the 4 issues to this beginning limited series, Dark Horse Aliens Vs. Predator volume 1 issues 1 and 2 from June and August of 1990 when the cinematic characters were at a fever pitch and every comic company was clamoring to get ahold of their IP’s. Both books are gem; clean and sharp edges and corners, dazzling nice inner pages, great backings, two beauties truly.

Doctor 13 and Judas Iscariot aka the haunting titular entity encounter evils and trauma by the tons with these Neal Adams/Jim Aparo/Mike Sekowski morsels of morbid monstrous menacings— DC’s The Phantom Stranger volume 2 issues number 3, 6, 7 and 8 spanning October of 1969 into August of 1970. Some condition concerns as follows: slight warping and much creases to the spine of issue 3, considerable creasing all over issue 6, issues 7 and 8 and Very Good To Fine-, clean surfaces and good edges mostly.

Collecting Daredevil issues 319 through 325, "Fall From Grace" sees the Man Without Fear hunting a man called Eddie, who is able to put pictures and thoughts into some people's heads. He doesn't know that this hunt will also force him to cross paths with some old acquaintances including Elektra, Venom and more, this terrific lot collects the entire miniseries and even the prologue from 1993, included in the finale is an attached gigantic fold out poster to commemorate the series (pictured). Luckily all seven issues are wonderful in condition with no major blemishes, only very minor moments of edge wear if at all, nice copies mostly.

The wonderful comic art gods Wally Wood and Steve Ditko’s crafted this two part miniseries collecting segments for Dragonella, The Misfits and others, these comics helped bridge the gap between the countercultural underground comics and traditional mainstream fare, providing genre stories for an adult audience and it was a forerunner of the late-1970s rise of the modern graphic novel and the 1980s independent-comic publishing boom, Wally Wood’s Heroes Inc. Cannon number 1 from 1969. Besides some very minor and faded surface dings and edge wear, the book remains mostly sharp and clean, concise and nice inner pages, great backing.

Continuing off his bountiful beginnings with his self-published issue, Wally (going as Wallace in his later years) Wood worked more wonder with the series he created but this time published under a different company introducing new entities and scenarios and fleshing the characters out more so to speak, Eros Comics Cannon from Wally Wood numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4, the first half chunk of the limited series, spanning February to May of 1991. Minor spine wear to issue one, but all four of these copies are fantastic, clean, sharp, smooth and concise, the only minor blemish being a very faint warping to the bottom corner of books.

Completing the series with this wondrous second chunk of action and adult flare via Wally Wood, Eros Comics and Wally Wood’s Cannon numbers 5, 6, 7, and 8 spanning June to September of 1991, Stateside Sleaze, The Reconstructed Man and other tantalizing takes from the legend. As with the first half, same for this second chunk completion: sharp edges aplenty, smooth surfaces, concise and nice inners and wonderful backings with great corners with these beauties, the only minor blemish being a very faint warping to the bottom corner of books.

Literal legends Neil Gaiman and Greg Capullo bringing brilliance to this titular character in her solos beginnings with this wondrous lot, the hell spawn slaying angel named Angela begins here with the complete first three issues to her limited series plus the alternate Angela cover for her Special from June of 1995, Image Comics’ Angela numbers 1, 2 and 3, the only three issues to the limited series, spanning December of 1994 into February of 1995, featuring many first appearances in this universe but most importantly the first issue is the second appearance of Angela. All four of these gems are superb in condition, clean and sharp throughout with no major or minor blemishes.

Frank Miller, Barry Windsor-Smith, Bob Layton and so many other industry giants collaborated for this oddest couple beginning presented here with not only the first 5 issues but also the special issue 0 prologue — Valiant Comics Archer and Armstrong volume 1 issues 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 spanning June to December of 1992, including tons of action packed scenes and several lesser first appearances. All six issues are stunning in shape, perhaps some super faint edge wear in a spot or two, but mostly sensational, sharp and smooth.

I mean epic doesn’t even cover it, because every cover by the legend Bill Sienkiewicz is brilliant, case in point this lot of treasures — the complete Frank Miller Bill Sienkiewicz Epic Comics’ Elektra Assassin mini series together, issues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, spanning August of 1986 to March of 1987, Elektra Natchios, the world’s greatest assassin encountering Shield, The Hand, Chastity McBride and many others. A few issues have some surface scuffs, a few corners have nubbing, some slight dings to edges here and there, a minor bit of warping to bottom left corner and spine of issue number 1, some dents to top edge of issue 6, 3 and 4, nice otherwise.

Starting off with the Lady Death "Chaos At Cavalcade Tour Edition" Between Heaven and Hell Ashcan limited to only 5000 copies and only getting better from there as this lively and lovely lot includes also the complete four issues to the Between Heaven And Hell limited series including what looks to be the Chromium Cover for issue 1 plus the first appearance of Lady Demon in Issue 3, then The Lady Death Cavalcade Catalog from 1994/95, Chaos Comics Lady Death Between Heaven And Hell number 1, 2, 3, 4, the mini ashcan plus the Cavalcade Catalog. All six books are beautiful sharp and clean througout with not a blemish between any of them, dazzling delightful copies.

Chaos Comics flagship character at his evilest here, an excellent and complete series lot — Chaos Comics Evil Ernie Straight To Hell Ashcan Preview from September of 1995, then the Wizard Prolog Edition Ashcan, and of course the complete Evil Ernie Straight To Hell limited series numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 from October of 1995 to May of 1996, issue number one being the foldout coffin cover and featuring the first appearance of Chastity. All items are superb in shape, only issue 1 has some slight warping to the book, great edges, surface and corners everywhere else.

Let the blood explode with excellence as the exciting evil entity lurks again here in another complete miniseries but plus a special bonus, Chaos Comics Evil Ernie The Resurrection complete limited series numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4, spanning July to October of 1993, then also included is Evil Ernie issue 0 with the gruesome Greg Capullo cover from December of 1993, all first printings and all Fine+ copies, only issue 1 has some very faint warping to bottom of book, great edges and corners everywhere.

This particular Uncle Sam has certainly seen better days; stupendous, spectacular stuff from legend Alex Ross and associate writer Steve Darnell, this sensational two part story centers around Sam, an obviously distressed homeless man, who wanders the streets of an unnamed city speaking mostly in odd quotes and sound bites. As he wanders, he has flashes into the lives of poor and struggling Americans, and injustices as they happen all across the United States. He searches his memory trying to pinpoint the moment where the dream he once had for the country went wrong. His mind flits through the darkest moments in American history, from the assassination of John F. Kennedy to the Indian Wars, to slavery, lynchings, the Civil Rights Movement, the Dust Bowl and the Andersonville death camp during the Civil War — DC and Vertigo Comics’ U.S. (or Uncle Sam) Book One and Book Two from 1997. The series was very well received by critics, earning praise from Kirkus Reviews, The San Francisco Chronicle and Alan Moore, and earning an Eisner Award Nomination. Both books are beautiful and sharp in condition as well, clean, smooth and concise.

"Eat my shorts, man! Aye carumba!" The longest running American television show in history was bound to leap into the comic world and everyone’s favorite jokester began with a bang with his alter persona, Bongo Comics Group’s Bartman here with the complete volume 1 (issues 1-6) and the Hero Illustrated 1994 Giveaway Ashcan, plus The Bart Simpson Joke Book from 1995, this lot features the second appearance of Bart Simpson as Bartman in comics in “The Comic Cover Caper!" Issue 1 is the silver foil edition that includes the Bound-in Jumbo Bartman Postse attached. Also, legendary creator Matt Groening discusses the Bart Philosophy. All books range from Fine- to Very Fine, some minor surface dings to the cover of issue 1, and one surface scuff to the right edge of issue 4’s ASM tribute cover, outstanding inners, sharp and clean backings.

The magnificent macabre master and creator of Hellboy Mike Mignola makes magic again and again with the character with limited series and sagas that are now legendary, case in point: "Almost Colossus" the two issue Hellboy series from June and July of 1997, story centers around Liz Sherman and The BPRD having freshly released a terrorizing homonculus. Both issues are awesome, sharp and clean with only issue one having a super brief bit of surface dots and issue two having a folded corner tip to the intro page.

More brilliance from the legend Barry Windsor-Smith but not in form of Conan, featuring his phenomenal run with the introduction to the Weapon X program with this series, Wolverine unlike he had been shown before — Marvel Comics Presents volume 1 issues 73, 74, 75, 76, 77 and 78 spanning March to June of 1991, several tales within each exciting issue. Possibly a few moments of super minor edge wear, but these issues have been taken care of and stored well, each issue is crisp, sharp and clean.

The Sam Kieth creation Cyber menaces and makes a cameo appearance plus the first ever Jae Lee work at Marvel is featured both in issue #85, but this terrific second chunk of this series begins with the first appearance of James Howlett as Weapon X with that unforgettable BWS Logan cover — Marvel Comics Presents volume 1 issues 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84 and 85 spanning June to September of 1991, Speedball, The FF, Weapon X and tons other segments featured. All seven gems are sensational in shape mostly, some super brief moments of surface rubbing if anything but mostly fantastic.

Twice the writer / artist brilliance with this four part saga as legend John Byrne joins marvelous macabre creator Mike Mignola for "Seed Of Destruction," the first ever Dark Horse published Hellboy series and also served as the basis for the 2004 Guillermo Del Toro film, suffice to say, stupendous stuff — Dark Horse Hellboy Seed Of Destruction numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 from March to June of 1994, the first appearance of Hellboy in color, first appearance of The BPRD, the first Trevor B and the first Rasputin, plus as Art Adams Monkeyman back up story included. All four issues are sensational, not even a crease at all to the spines of all four books, sharp edged and smooth surfaces, great concise inners and backings, a dazzling and delightful landmark lot.

Beginning with the brutal issue number one and first appearance of Belit and savagely traveling from there, this bludgeoning lot contains the first four Conan Giant-Size’s plus issue number 1 of the King-Size Special, Gil Kane, John Romita and Ernie Chan covers, Sal Buscema and BWS inner attacks and stunning stories via Roy Thomas, you can’t miss with legends like this — Marvels Giant-Size Conan The Barbarian numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4, plus Conan The Barbarian King-Size number 1 from 1973. Conditions: the King-Size Special has some slight color fading to top of cover, some creases to the spine and bottom right corner to it, a folded top corner tip to back cover and some scattered waving wear to it plus some tape to bottom of spine, mostly good inner pages, frontispiece has a tiny unnecessary piece of tape to bottom corner tip; a slight few dents to some white backings (back to issue 3 has a minor faded stain), mostly good covers with some faint to minor creases and a few nubs within the first four issues.

Brian Pukido’s putrid creation in one of the early limited series sagas here, wherein the first issue is the glow in the dark cover first cameo appearance of Purgatori and the finale fourth issue is her first full appearance, a blood soaked slaughterhouse joruney with Lady Death and crew — Chaos Comics Evil Ernie Revenge issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 from October of 1994 into February of 1995. All four issues are first printings and all four are fantastic and sharp in shape, only condition concern being a very slight warping to the bottom right corner of the books.

The end to the series’s finale showcased here and with a blood soaked bang, Harris Comics’ Vengeance Of Vampirella numbers 22, 23, 24 and 25 — issue 25, the final issue, it autographed by Amanda Conner, Tom Sniegoski, Joe Quesada, and what looks to be Justin Gray, plus it is numbered 322 of 2500 — also featured is the Topps Vampirella Gallery collector’s card from 1995, and finally the Wizard Supplement Harris Vampirella Ashcan number 5, first printing from 1996 with the Amanda Conner cover. It’s all about that beautiful Glenn Fabry cover for issue 23 though. The bottom right corner of backing to the ashcan has a few tiny dot stains, the rest of the items in this lot are fresh and sharp and superb.

The first appearance, origin and complete beginning limited series for Jean-Paul Vallley aka Azrael with this astonishing lot from Dennis O’Neil and Joe Quesada — DC’s Batman Sword Of Azrael issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 spanning October of 1992 to January of 1993, Azrael took over for Batman secretly shortly after his back breaking in the Knightfall saga, however his methods were a bit more…extreme and established and cemented his anti-hero/villain status. Spectacular corners and edges not just to covers but also inners and superb back covers as well, take a gander at these dazzlers!

The first appearance and origin of Jason Todd as Robin II AND the first appearance of the new Robin costume for Tim Drake as Robin III because why break up a beautiful Boy Wonder thing? DC’s Batman volume 1 issues 368 and 457 from February of 1984 and December of 1990, respectively. A very cool Robin pairing, honestly. Some super brief and tiny dents to a crease but faintly so, both of these books are beautiful everywhere else.

Glenn Danzig musician and Misfits master mines some marvelous dark and brutal moments with this phenomenal four issue limited series that takes the greatest of all-time, Frank Frazetta, and caps each issue with an extraordinary work of his, written by Danzig, and inner framework by Arthur Suydam, each issue is just dark magic defined — Verotik Death Dealer numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 spanning 1995 to 1997. Some moments of minor edge wear to bottom center of issue 2 and 1, slight nubbing to bottom corner of issue 4, a few faint moments of print rubbing, great inner pages, most issues remain Good to Very Good,

The complete Jim Starlin beginning series and passion project for his savage creation Ray Stoner aka Breed takes a stab in the dark here — Malibu Bravura Breed volume 1 issues number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 spanning January to June of 1994, a blood soaked riot with some awesome segments with this complete series lot. All issues are blemish free and superb, only some very brief warping to spine of issue 1.

The magnificent creation of mastermind Matt Wagner, Hunter Rose flows through the sands of time dispensing his vigilante justice with a rose intact, and here slays a stellar yet different take on the character for a series complete with Teddy Kristiansen’s pencils, inks, colors and art — Dark Horse Grendel Tales number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 spanning August of 1993 into January of 1994, the first appearances of Grendel Black, Grendel White, Grendel Currator and Grendel Gambler. All six of the Matt Wagner painted covers are pristine but some have a super faint warping to the bottom right edge, outstanding inner pages and blemish free backings, really nice copies entirely.

A captivating creation of Joseph Michael Linsner, the ginger vixen of immortality, Dawn, is the goddess of birth and rebirth and the guardian of all the witches on Earth, and the goddess to whom they pray, this lovely lot is two of the Wizard 1/2 from Sirius Dreams Of Dawn from January of 1999 and including their certificates and their acid-free Pro Ultra baggings, plus the finale of her six issue miniseries Crypt Of Dawn that includes the Mosaic Prequel with the beautiful Brom cover piece from March of 1999. All three books are beautiful with imagery and condition, no major blemishes, just spectacular edges and corners, smooth surfaces and concise inner pages.

Two wondrous Star Wars Wizard 1/2’s here, first everyone’s favorite galactic bounty hunter Boba Fett Dark Horse Wizard 1/2, then Dark Horse’s Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace from May of 1999 with Wizard silver logo’s bag, both including certificate to backing and both in out-of-this- world wonderful condition, like-new and superb.

Twenty (that’s 20) Kal-El tales and takes within this massive and marvelous Official Metropolis Edition of National Periodical Publications’ Amazing World Of Superman huge (measures almost 11x14) one-shot from May of 1973, capped off with a large original Curt Swan cover and a giant poster Map Of Krypton included. Some creasing to the spine, some edge wear, some browning to the frontispiece and lesser so to the inners but they actually remain very concise and sharp, no major chips, tears or rips within, but there is a brief bit of nubbing to some top corner very tips and a small reoccurring dent to bottom edge near spine.

May The Force Be With You…Showcasing concept artwork created by Ralph McQuarrie for the original Star Wars film, Ballantine Books premiered this superb production The Star Wars Portfolio by Ralph McQuarrie in 1977, numerous original prints of art by the legend contained within the jet black Ballantine folder case. Some minor nubbing to the corner tips of portfolio, some scattered creases to the ends at parts of the portfolio case and backing as well, inner too flap of portfolio had a very faded stain and a similar very faded stain to the intro sheet, but all prints themselves are in clean and sharp conditions, with only some faint waving to them, a faint nub to a top corner or two.

Art Thibert, Dan Jurgens and Greg Wright dazzle and delight with this 11x14 huge sized two-universes-colliding scenario spectacle — DC and Marvels Superman Fantastic Four from April of 1999, "The Infinite Destruction," of course with an astounding double pin-up cover style from legend Alex Ross. Cover and backing are both super sharp and clean without a single crease or ding, inners are very nice with only a few tips having a slight warp to them, 3rd of 4th page has a folded tiny corner tip as well.

It begins with the bombastic and brutal "Fight and Flight" the first full appearance of the gigantic and powerful Pitt as he plummets to earth, and continues almost the entire first series run before Full Bleed Studios takes over publishing on issue 10 — Image Comics Pitt volume 1 issues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 spanning a huge chunk of the series from January of 1993 to December of 1994, Dale Keown having made such a mark with his vivid and super detailed imagery with this series. Also including to the backing of issue 7 is the Red Foil Hero Premiere Edition of Pitt Ashcan #3. Perhaps the faintest but of print rubbing or wear to the spines, but these issues are all gem, mostly impeccable.

All five issues together, the complete limited miniseries by creator Mike Mignola, Jim Sinclair and Gary Giani goes berserk here — Dark Horse and Legend’s Hellboy Wake The Devil numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 spanning June to October of 1996, haunting Mignola covers to each of course. All five issues remain phenomenal, clean, sharp, smooth and fresh with no creases, dings, bends, stain or wear at all.

The first and third The Spirits ever published by Kitchen Sink Enterprises after formerly being released by Warren, Kitchen Sink’s The Spirit Volume 5 issue 17 and 19 from Winter and October of 1978, PLUS two normal comic book sized samplings, The Spirit Volume 1 The First 93 Dailies and Volume 2 the First 200 Dailies both Second Printings from 1980, all together to properly present Eisner’s treasure. Some slight nubbing to the bottom corner tip of 200 Dailies, brief foxing to the frontispiece and backing of 93 Dailies, super minor spine creases to the actual mags but everything else is excellent in this lot.

Katsuhiro Otomo pretty much by his lonesome in this direct adaptation one of the most beloved, acclaimed and widely appreciated Anime films of all-time, synopsis: It's 1992, thirty-eight years after a devastatingly powerful new bomb exploded over Tokyo and triggered WW III. Now, the young, rebellious Kaneda nearly runs over a child with his motorcycle — a child with the face of an old man and powers beyond physical science, Epic Comics’ Akira volume 1 number 1 from May of 1988, a TPB sized graphic novel. Book itself is in clean, sharp and fantastic Very Fine shape, only some slight dust here and there and one tiny ding to the top left center edge, wonderful cover otherwise, great inners and backing.

Slade Wilson, the spectacular and savage weapon wielder and DC’s answer to Deadpool/Punisher begins a blowout first volume series here with the first five slice and packed jams — DC’s Deathstroke The Terminator volume 1 issues 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 spanning August to December of 1991, marvelous Mike Zeck covers as Marv Wolfman lays the framework for the blasts within. All five issues are ship shape and superb in condition with only a few moments of very minor edge wear, great copies all of them.

All complete six issues to the series except for the rare and scarce Green, Pink and Orange Preview and Advanced Comics Editions, the first cameo and first full appearances of Gen-13 happen in two of these stunning spectacular covered epics (issue Black and issue Epilogue): Valiant and Image’s Deathmate volume 1 issues Prologue, Black, Blue, Yellow, Red, and Epilogue spanning September of 1993 to February of 1994, Jim Lee, Bob Layton, Barry Windsor-Smith, Rob Liefeld, Joe Quesada and many other industry giants of the time collaborating on this project that spans several teams and characters. All six issues are clean and outstanding in shape, sharp and smooth without a major blemish to any of them.

The universe’s deadliest hunter encounter’s the world’s greatest detective as Gotham is yet again terrorized, DC’s Batman Versus Predator numbers 1, 2, and the Collector’s Edition number 3 completing the limited series from December 1991 to February of 1992, plus the Collector’s Edition Predator Variant number 1 painted by Arthur Suydam with the 8 Predator/Batman trading card sheets intact to the back (pictured). All four are fantastic condition wise, with only some brief and faint creases along the binding of the spine vertically, sensational everywhere else.

"Evil" Ernest Fairchild, the titular character and mascot for Brian Pulido’s Chaos Comics seen spewing and lurking here with four different examples in this lewd lot — Chaos Comics Evil Ernie The Movie Monsters number 1 from March of 1997, Evil Ernie Baddest Battles number 1 from January of 1997, Evil Ernie Versus The Super Heroes number 1 from August of 1995, and finally Evil Ernie Youth Gone Wild Director’s Cut number 1 from October of 1995 and limited to only 15,000 copies. All four books are first printings. All four are in spectacular shape everywhere with great edges however, there remain two blemishes: the bottom edge to the back cover of Versus The Super Heroes has a surface scuff, and the cover tips of Youth Gone Wild have a slight warping.

The series honestly didn’t get nearly enough appreciation during its release as there was so much stiff competition, but you had award winning writer Brian Michael Bendis, tremendous inner imagery from legend Bill Sienkiewicz and staggering and haunting covers each one by Ashley Wood, Image Comics’ Hell Spawn numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, the first five gems, spanning August of 2000 to January of 2001. All five of these fear-stricken fables are fantastically clean, sharp and smooth, only some faint moments of edge wear and minor slight nubbing to a corner or two.

Beginning with the beautiful Gold Variant Todd McFarlane Spidey Head in UPC box second printing and continuing on with the acclaimed series from there, Marvels Spider-Man volume 1 issues 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, spanning August to December of 1990, McFarlane’s imprint on everyone’s favorite friendly neighborhood hero was a highlight of the 90’s era Spidey for sure. All five issues are awesome gems and in terrific shape with no major or even minor blemishes, perhaps a super faint tiny spot of edge wear but these are all excellent everywhere.

Matt Wagner’s magnificent four issue miniseries sees many takes to each issue with industry titans such as Tim Bradstreet, Mike Allred, Tim Sale and so much more providing the black and white and a whole lot of red in the form of blood — Dark Horse’s Grendel Black And White miniseries complete issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 spanning November of 1998 into February of 1999. All four Hunter Rose noir soaked fables are in fabulous conditions, again, no major blemishes these are clean and super sharp copies the lot of them.

Astonishing mastermind Alex Ross had more than already established his status as an industry titan and art messiah, this limited series showcased some stupendous stuff in the way of wonder working characters to make them anew. Marvel and Alex Ross’ Earth X issues 0-6 here, spanning March to September of 1999, the series began in 1997 when Wizard magazine asked Ross to create a possible dystopian future for Marvel. Ross designed a future where all ordinary humans had gained superpowers, and he examined how some of the most well-known Marvel characters would manage a world where their superhero powers had now become commonplace. The issue of Wizard that contained the Ross article sold out rapidly. Demand was so extensive that in 1999 they republished the article as the Earth X Sketchbook, which also sold out. Based on this indicator of fan interest, Marvel commissioned Ross to create a full series based on his notes, and here lies that series. All 7 of these dystopian Marvel gems remain excellent with only a super faint amount of surface rubbing to the center top of spine on cover of issue 4, some minor nubbing to bottom right corner tip of back of issue 2 and some slight print rubbing marks to the top right corner of back cover for issue 5, outstanding edges, corners, surface and backings.

The second completion chunk of this limited series that sees a dystopian future for mutants and superheroes as cyborg entity X-51 traverses terrain and observes onslaughts and occurrences with mutated futuristic forms of Ghost Rider, Punisher, The Inhumans, Spider-Man and a majority of the Marvel universe — Marvel and Alex Ross’s Earth-X issues 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 spanning September of 1999 into April of 2000, plus issues X (an ending finale) from June of 2000 and the Wizard Magazine number 77 Earth-X Special Edition exclusive sketchbook from 1997. All issues are impeccable except the sketchbook has some very brief warping to the bottom edge, sensational copies everywhere else.

The complete Andy Kubert/Joe Madureira/Scott Lobdell and others fantastic four part saga (not including the X-Factor prologue or the epilogue) that was a primer and beckoning of sorts to the Age Of Apocalypse saga, Legion Quest captured here — Marvels X-men Legion Quest issues 1, then the Wizard Gold UPC issue 1 Exclusive alternate, issues 2, 3 and 4 from January to February of 1995, skipping through Uncanny and X-men titles, the character legion would go onto get his own steaming series. All five books are awesome with sharp edges, great inners and outstanding backings, only some super faint print rubbing to a tiny spot of a spine or two.

Spectacular and stupendous but massively so, a gargantuan lot of Will Eisner’s passion project and perfect example of what made his work so unique, excellent and exciting even in its time, 11 magazine-sized issues to this treasure lot — Kitchen Sink Enterprises/Comix’s The Spirit volume 5 issues 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 spanning July of 1979 to October of 1981, Denny Colt Jr. as massive as he’s ever been here. Some super brief creases to a cover spine or two, possibly a faint print rubbing moment, perhaps a crease, a few inner and back cover moments of foxing but only minimally, a corner creases perhaps, but most of the mags are in marvelous and concise shape, take a look at this lovely lot!

The greatest sword and sorcery hero of all time shown massively to the twelfth level here as Red Sonja, King Kull and the titular barbarian brave chaos and battle serpents, beasts, the undead and all of their types of terror — Curtis Comics’ The Savage Sword Of Conan volume 1 issues 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and beginning with the first Super Annual Issue number 1 from 1975, the remainder mags range from October of 1974 to June of 1976. Massive isn’t the half of it, truly. There is some cover and frontispiece creases here and there, a few corner crease and faded dents, one surface scuff to the top corner of back of Annual, scattered waving and wear to the backing of issue 2, some slight spine wear but most of the mags are sharp with concise inners and good backings.

Three different yet equally delightful dark knight TPBs: Image Comics’ Spawn Batman by Frank Miller and Todd McFarlane from 1994, DC’s Batman Judge Dredd Judgement On Gotham from Alan Grant, Simon Bisley and John Wagner from 1991, DC’s Gotham By Gaslight the award winning tale via Mike Mignola, P. Craig Russell, Brian Augustyn from 1989. All three are excellent and near blemish free copies with clean inner pages, sharp edges and corners, the only super minor concern is a very slight warping to bottom right corner of Spawn Batman.

The radical and rough Ray Stoner back again in the sequel to Jim Starlin’s passion project as the legend crafts another six issue saga for the titular character, and here collects all six of the issues, a complete grab — Malibu and Bravura Comics’ Breed II issues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, spanning November of 1994 to April of 1995, blood splattered page after action-packed page. These are tremendous copies all six of them, hard to spot even a minor blemish, crisp and clean spines, superb corners and edges, spectacular inners and backings.

Bob Layton, Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti bring breathtaking moments to the series, and why break up a good thing, this ludicrous lot includes the chromium cover for issue 0, issue number one the first appearance of the titular character Aric Dacia X-O Manowar, and issue number 4 includes the first appearance of Shadowman, and it would be a crime not to mention the wonderful BWS cover pieces — Valiant Comics X-O Manowar volume 1 issues 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 spanning February to September of 1992, what an astonishing lot any way you blast it. Perhaps a few super duper minor surface rubbings, these issues are all incredibly clean and sharp copies, easily VF’s each of them, truly tremendous.

Erik Larsen’s sole creation and his passion project that lasted longer than a majority of comic series ever do presented here in the beginning three issue of volume 1 and the first five issues of the long lasting established series — Image Comics The Savage Dragon volume 1 issue 1, 2 and 3 from July, October and December of 1992, then issues 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 from volume 2 spanning June to October of 1993. Issue number 1 to the second volume is the first appearance of Kurr as The Savage Dragon, plus the first appearances Ricochet, Barbaric, and Shrew. All of these issues are spectacular and superb, it’s difficult to find a blemish with a majority of these copies, a super minor crease or lone dent here and there if anything, really nice books.

Literally five years in the making, masterminds Marv Wolfman, George Perez and Dick Giordano needed severely to shake up the DC universe, tie up loose ends, fix continuity issues and ultimately blast away at the competition and make a serious dent, and they more than did so with this award winning, best-selling, critically and fan acclaimed series of legend, DC’s Crisis On Infinite Earths complete twelve part maxi-series issues 1 through 12, spanning April of 1985 into March of 1986, and the rest is comic-dom history. Why break up a good thing, keep this complete with the first issue, and issue 7 (the death of Supergirl), tons of important occurrences and first appearances, plus old Golden and Silver Age era characters revitalized. Luckily, every issue is a gem with this lot; crisp and concise inners, smooth and clean backings, covers are sharp and superb, the only even minor blemish is a few faint dents and creases to the bottom right corner of issue 7 and one small stain scuff to the backing of issue 10.

Legend Mike Allred brings along his beloved Laura to create this stunner rocker series, the entire history of rock 'n' roll as seen through the eyes of the seventh clone of a man from a distant world. RR7 rubs shoulders with every legend from the birth of rock in the '50s, through the British invasion of the '60s, through the advent of Heavy Metal and Glam rock in the '70s, the New Wave of the '80s, the Grunge Rock and Indie/Alt. scene in the '90s, and into the new millennium, a true jam and complete here with all issues in this limited series — Dark Horse and Mike Allred’s Red Rocket 7 issues 1 (doubles of this issue as there is two copies), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, spanning August of 1997 into June of 1998. All record sized taut soft cover books remain in superb shape, like-new with only perhaps a faint bit of edge wear for a moment or two if anything, awesome condition for this lot.

The phenomenal flashback retelling of Jason Todd’s origin post-Crisis continuity with the treacherous two part Two-Face saga included, fireworks stuff for the boy wonder via Chris Warner, Max Collins and Dennis O’Neil including the first appearance of Ma Gunn aka Faye Gunn — DC’s Batman volume 1 issues number 408, 409 (the continuing origin retelling), 410, and 411 spanning June to September of 1987 and with some fantastic cover work from Dave Cockrum and Don Heck as well. One faint small stain mark to the right edge of cover on issue 409, and a few minor creases to the bottom right corner and spine of issue 408, white and sharp backings and clean, even and concise inner pages, a gorgeous Robin lot no doubt.

Johnny Blaze’em! The first appearance and origin of Danny Ketch as the hellish chain wielding flame thrower titular skull titan, the first appearances of Stacy Dolan, Deathwatch, Mrs. Francis Ketch, Noble Kale, Pauline Stratton and a few more, plus, if not to only showcase how spectacular Ketch captures chaos, the two part Punisher saga also — Marvel Ghost Rider volume 3 issues 1 from May of 1990, then issues 5 and 6 from September and October of the same year. You gotta adore those Jim Lee and Mark Texeira covers. All three issues are excellent with nay a major blemish to any them, clean crease-less sharp covers, smooth concise inners and delightful backings with only one faded and faint browning mark to the left edge of issue number 5’s backing.

The entire Age Of Apocalypse saga included here in this incredible lineup lot that featured one of the biggest 90’s events to all of Marvel’s mutant-kind, starting off with the wraparound acetate covers for one-shot’s X-men Prime number 1 and X-men Omega number 1 from July and June of 1995 — Prime issue 1 featuring the first appearance of bone growing and throwing Marrow and the first shadow cameo of near omnipotent and outrageously powerful Onslaught, the brainchild creation of Magneto and Professor X, plus a few more lesser first appearances — then X-men Chronicles number 2, Amazing X-men number 4, Weapon X number 4, Generation Next number 4 and Factor X number 4 all also June of 1995. All 7 issues are pretty and awesomely kept, smooth sharp edges and terrific inners, very superb books, especially the acetate wraparound cover issues.

So this one is kind of a mish-mash but it’s undoubtedly magnificent: Superman’s proposal to Lois Lane, the identity revealed of the new Lois Lane, the finale issue of Superman volume 1, then the alternate Superman Test Logo copy for Justice League number 3, some DC Heritage cards, and finally a Superman For All Seasons by Tim Sale and Jeph Loeb postcard via 1998. So this is DC’s Superman volume 2 issue number 50, Action Comics number 662, Superman volume 1 issue 423 from September of 1986, Justice League number 3 alternate from July of 1987, the postcard, and ten DC Comics Hero Heritage cards (7 in jewel sleeves, 3 are raw, including Flash, multiple Superman’s, Blue Beetles, etc). All the books are clean and sharp, hardly any blemishes and or condition concerns, the postcard has a dent ding to the back of it, cards are mostly great but some of the actual sleeves have some slight browning from storage. Now how’s that for some DC dynamite?!

"Grander Than Fire" begins the finery first appearance of Raymond Terrill aka The Ray, Joe Quesada and Jack Harris’ passion project of the terrific titular soaring hero, and this awesome lot collects all six of the limited series first volume — DC’s The Ray volume 1 issues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 spanning February to July of 1992. Some extremely minor surface dings and possibly a faint moment of edge wear here and there but all of these are excellent copies, hard to find a blemish with these terrific issues.

Dan Jurgens and Ron Marz plus a slew of other creator crew combined forces for this 90’s collision of universes, it was surely a spectacle — DC Versus Marvel and Marvel Versus DC issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 spanning February to May of 1996, giving many a fan and fanatic what they’d been wondering and pondering about…what would happen if Hulk fought Superman? Wolverine vs Lobo? Captain America versus Batman? Flash against Quicksilver and many more, they didn’t skimp on the results either. All four of these books are stunners, sharp and clean, only issue being a minor faint bit of warping to the boot corner tips.

In the midsts of the Bat-breaking Knightfall storyline saga, "The God Of Fear" happened as Scarecrow terrorized Bats and a whole of Gotham — DC’s Shadow Of The Bat volume 1 issues 16, 17 and 18, all three parts to the miniseries, spanning just September to October of 1993 and via legend Alan Grant with astonishing painted cover from the awesome Brian Stelfreeze. All three are terrific, clean, sharp and smooth everywhere, sensational copies.

A Rob Liefeld cover for issue 0, embossed die-cut darkened and chromium silver covers, plus Mark Texeira centerfold splash’s, this huge lot is anything but a bright ray of sunshine. A massive bunch of Paul Johnstone coming at you, it doesn’t get much darker — Image Comics Shadowhawk volume 1 issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 (complete) spanning August of 1992 into March of 1993, the Shadowhawk Gallery One-shot from April of 1994, then Shadowhawk volume 2 issues 12, 13 and 14 ("The Monster Within" three part saga complete featuring Chapel), Liefeld’s Shadowhawk 0 from September of 1994, then finally all three issues complete of Shadowhawk II from May to August of 1993. Honestly again hard to find a blemish with these copies, all of them with sharp edges, possibly a faint bit of super minor edge and surface wear to a spot or two, but mostly clean, sharp and stunning.

Beginning with the brilliant, beautiful and instantly recognizable Brian Bolland Joker cover, traversing the treasured Brian Stelfreeze cover image for Oswald Cobblepot’s first solo foray to his own titled book and ending with as tale as noir as Bat-noir can get, three Gotham gems here — DC’s Batman Legends of The Dark Knight number 50 with the gold foil direct edition Joker cover from September of 1993, then Penguin Triumphant TPB from 1992, lastly Batman: Scar Of The Bat from 1992 via Max Allan Collins and Eduardo Barreto. All three have sharp as a knife edges with outstanding corners, only even minor blemish is a faint bit of warping to the bottom corner tips slightly.

The embossed foil cover for Tim Drake’s volume beginning via Chuck Dixon and Scott Hanna equals DC’s Robin volume 2 issue number 1, plus a still-factory sealed Robin II The Joker’s Wild collector’s set with the hologram trading card covers and direct variant editions for issue 1 plus the hologram solo card floating to the back of the bag (via Chuck Dixon as well) and all issues inside seem spectacular, never opened of course. Condition for Robin number 1 is sensational as well, sharp and superb.

Rob Liefeld and Dan Panosian unleash Jonathan Tyler aka the titular titan here with a monstrous and savage lot beginning with his origin, Image Comics’ Prophet volume 1 issues 1 through 10 with issue 0 included, spanning October of 1993 to January of 1995, 11 issues in total. And luckily they’re all in yet again tremendous shape, only a faint bit of warping to the bottom left corner of issue 6, very slight warping to the spine of issue 2, perhaps a super minor moment of edge wear or two, but they’re all beauties.

Brian Pulido’s creation and Chaos Comics’ menacing mascot here with a monstrous 8 item ghoulish grab — Chaos Comics Evil Ernie Pieces Of Me number 1 from November of 2000 first printing with the B/W cover and inners, then Evil Ernie War Of The Dead complete miniseries numbers 1 through 3 from November of 1999 into January of 2000 and issue 3 with that series is the more limited Memorial Edition cover, Wizard Exclusive’s Evil Ernie 1/2 with certificate and accompanying bagging, finally or frightfully, Evil Ernie Depraved miniseries complete issues 1 through 3 spanning July to September of 1999. All issues are epic in shape, only minor blemish is some slight warping to issue 1/2, super faint nubbing or edge wear possibly at a moment or two, gorgeous issues almost entirely.

I vividly remember seeing the cover to issue 1 of this lot back when it premiered at the comic shop and for some reason it stuck with me; perhaps a testament to Brandon Petersen and Al Vey’s stunning linework and imagery, in any case the beginning and complete three issue miniseries here for Robert Bearclaw, including the first appearances of lessers Doonongaes, Oehda and more — Image Comics Ripclaw volume 1 issues 1, 2 and 3, complete, spanning April to July of 1995. All three remain terrific, clean and sharp everywhere.

Valiant Comics’ powerful ninja persona strikes hard and fast here with the first seven roundhouse kicks — Valiant Comics’ Ninjak volume 1 issues 1 through 7 spanning February to September of 1994 and including many minor first appearances to the character’s universe, via Dan Abnett, Mark Moretti and Andrew Currie, issue 1 being the landmark foil shiny chromium cover. All issues are near impeccable and superb, only blemish being a very minor surface print rubbing to the comic corner box of issue 7, a few slight bent top corner tips to top of issue 3.

Valiant was a comic company that had great titles and was unique enough but was unfortunately pitted against Top Cow, Dark Horse, DC, Marvel and Image and they certainly did what they could but at the time somewhat got overshadowed, nowadays we can look back at the titles and series and appreciate them for what they were. Case in point another stellar line, Valiant Comics’ Bloodshot volume 1 issues 1 through 7 (the first seven steps) spanning February to August of 1993, the 6th issue being the first appearance of Colin King aka the prior Ninjak and issue 7 the first Ninjak in costume, issue 1 the foil chromium cover, so shiny. Another spectacular condition status as all these copies are super clean, sharp and sensational everywhere.

Two 1994 Grendel miniseries combined here, as Matt Wagner and crew work their magic with his creation — Dark Horse Grendel Tales The Devil In Our Midst complete issues 1 through 5 spanning May to September, and Grendel Tales two-shot Devils And Deaths from October and November, painted Wagner covers as the inners don’t skimp on the blood flow and roses beside corpses. All issues again are stunners, possibly a faint but of extremely minor creases to spine, super brief bottom corner warping but only super minimally, outstanding copies.

The complete ten issue run for the second volume of the Chaos creepster here plus an outstanding one-shot included for the ghoul of it — Chaos Comics Evil Ernie volume 2 issues 1 through 10 spanning July of 1998 to April of 1999, the Smiley The Psychotic Button one-shot is dated July of 1998, first printing, Purgatori and Ernie rocking the caskets and causing all the bloodshed. A majority of these comics were stored clean and safely and hardly ever opened or read through, so they remain mostly terrific and tremendous in shape, this huge lot is just that, superb and sharp covers, inners and backings.

Two terrific three part Grendel Matt Wagner miniseries combined here and the devil is in the details, Dark Horse’s Grendel Tales Devil’s Hammer complete issues 1, 2 and 3 from February to April of 1994, then Grendel Tales The Devil’s Apprentice complete 1, 2 and 3 from September to November of 1997, a grizzly take on Grendel as a vampire during the Wild West and then as the long survivor of Grendel attacks with a curse to "Black Blood." Only even minor blemish being a faint slight bit of warping to the bottom right corners, everywhere else is excellent and sharp.

Soaring and stunning, beginning with the eye-popping and excellent full-color 3D issue variant (and yes, the awesome Wildstorm 3D glasses are included and in mint shape still attached [pictured]) and only reaching new heights there on — Kurt Busiek’s Eisner Award Winning serried that captured many a fan’s hearts happens here: Kurt Busiek’s Astro City volume 1 issues 1 the 3D variant and issue 1 first printing with Alex Ross foldout poster and first appearance of Samaritan, then completing the entire first volume run until issue 6, August of 1995 to January of 1996, then it skips a bit starting with issue 8 from the second volume, issue 12, 13, 14 and 15, that being the ending of the second volume in 1998. Stupendous sensational stuff no doubt, and not only for the Alex Ross covers either. Marvelous, magical copies, difficult for me to find even a minor blemish, there is one small surface scuff ding to the bottom center of cover for issue 8, then perhaps a faint super tiny crease to a spine or a minor minimal edge wear spot but honestly tremendous copies with the treasure lot.

I mean you just can’t say enough about the magnificence McFarlane brought to the Spidey series of the 90s, alongside his Spawn, he was already creating gold and nearing legendary status and the rest if radical history — beginning here with the Hobgoblin issue and running the glorious gamut with Ghost Rider, Wolverine, Wendigo and ending on the excellent return of the Symbiote suit to "Sub-City Part 1" homage cover, Marvels Spider-Man volume 1 issues 6 through 13, eight issues total spanning January to August of 1991. All copies are clean, sharp, smooth, fresh and fantastic throughout.

Continuing on with the captivating McFarlane Spidey run up until he leaves on issue 16 (the incredible Juggernaut Vs.X-Force sideways issue with help from Rob Liefeld), and ending with the excellent three part Vengeance mini saga, another proper and prime Peter Parker lot — Marvels Spider-Man volume 1 issues 14, 15, 16, 17 spanning September to December of 1991, then it skips a jump to issues 30 through 34 encompassing January to May of 1993. Man that Thanos cover and story takes me back, love the Infinity crossover. A slight faint warping dent to the issue 34’s spine, perhaps a brief nub to a corner but honestly all awesome copies yet again.

Two fangtastic Vampi bites seeing the vampire vixen in three part miniseries’ — first, Harris Comics Vampirella Queens Gambit "Last Blood" miniseries Part 1 through 3 issues 7, 8 and 9 from June to August of 1998 with the Shi crossover, then Vampirella Hell On Earth Part 1-3 issues 10, 11 and 12 through September and November of the same year, issue 7 is the Shi cover and issue 12 is the alternate cover. Lots of alternates and variants when you’re in the 90’s and early 00’s I tell ya. All issues are excellent and terrific, tremendous edges and corners throughout.

Another unmistakable artist style you gotta admit is at least unique, Kelley Jones’ cover work for the Knightfall run was radical stuff any way you gaze upon it, teamed up with Jim Aparo, Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench and others, it helped solidify Bane’s brute presence — this lot collects Knightfall run 15 through 19 with the alternate Joe Quesada issue 500 special landmark, DC’s Batman 498, 499, 500 (X2) from 1993, then Detective Comics 665 and 666, the number of the Bat beast, also from 1993 obviously. The embossed logo cover for Quesada variant shines, as does the rest of these issues that are terrific, clean and sharp everywhere.

"Sunset," “Hot House,” “Turf,” and the “Heat” titled sagas to this stunner run up to just before the 50th issue Joker spectacle, Doug Moench, Steven Grant, P.Craig Russell and more on the bat delights: DC’s Batman Legends Of The Dark Knight volume 1 issues 41 straight through 49, 9 issues in total spanning January of 1993 into late August. Not to sound like a broken record but yet again, these copies are all tremendous, clean, sharp and smooth with hardly even a crease to a spine, one tiny minor print smudge to the spine on cover of issue 49 but that’s about it.

A massive and mature Meriem Cooper grouping here, buxom and tantalizing some might say, beginning with Caliber Comics’ Cavewoman Odyssey One-Shot Front Row Special Edition (only 1,200 made), then going on the bubbly tour continuing with Avatar’s Cavewoman Color Special issue 1 the Nude Fauna Cover and the variant Prism Foil Cover (limited to 500), then Basement Comic Cavewoman One-Shot Special with two other variants: the Frankenstein cover variant and Green Foil Title variant limited to 1000. That’s a…massive lot of limited lurid content. All six of the scintillating specials are in sensational shape, sharp smooth and spectacular.

As if the Jae Lee covers for Trilogy weren’t dazzling enough the chromium silver hologram cover for issue 2 will certainly hypnotize anyone, Image Comics WildCATS lot including all three parts of Trilogy spanning June, September and December of 1993, then the preceding Image WildCATS featuring the wondrous work of Jim Lee volume 1 issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 from August of 1992 into March of 1993, the first appearances Grifter, Spartan, Zealot, Wetworks, and tons more with the monumental blast of an Image lot and if that wasn't awesome enough, included near the centerfold of issue 4 is a preview WildCATs trading card! Only some very slight warping to the bottom right corner of the hologram cover for volume 1’s issue 2, spectacular and superb edges, surface and corners everywhere else with these gems.

Marc Silvestri and Garth Ennis (wow what a duo) combined forces for this phenomenal series: a mafia hitman, Jackie Estacado on his 21st birthday discovers to be the host of a powerful primordial being known as The Darkness, and the rest is bullet and blood soaked dark history — Top Cow’s The Darkness, this lot collects issue 1 (the black cover variant) through issue 14 but is missing issue 7 somehow, however, it does include both the Wizard Tales Of The Darkness Collector’d Edition 1/2 and Wizard and Image’s The Darkness 1/2 both with certificate and respective bagging, issue 8 is the Silvestri variant cover, and issue 11 is the Greg and Tim Hildebrant cover variant. Again, superb and phenomenal copies every issue, only possible blemish being perhaps some slight waving to a cover or possible edge wear, but wonderful all around.

Continuing on the darkened and possessed path with another proper huge grouping and including almost the entire remaining chunk of the first volume run, Top Cow The Darkness issues 15 through 32 with no skips, but it does include The Darkness Holiday Pin-Up Special from Fall of 1997, the rest of the Jackie gems range from June of 1998 to July of 2000. You almost cant find cleaner and sharper copies, great edged books everywhere here, possible some faint nubbing or extremely minor edge wear to a moment or two.

Not a whole bunch of rhyme or reason to this three issue lot but it doesn’t make it any less awesome — Caliber Comics Kabuki Masks Of The Noh Act 1 Gold Club Combo Edition cover variant from 1996 that is autographed with certificate and pro-guard myguard bagging, Aircel Industries and Nightwynd Productions Samurai issue number 1 from 1986 (I believe this is the rare cover original variant because it does not have Reprint #1 or Reprint #2 on the cover, like websites stated it would have if a reprint), then finally Insomnia Catfight number 1 from March of 1995 autographed by creator Steve Zyskowski with certificate and myguard bagging number 1697 of 2000. All three copies are great, only Samurai has some super faint edge wear at a spot or two.

Ernie at his evilest or perhaps he’s just misunderstood; this lurking lot collects the entire "Destroyer" miniseries plus the Destroyer Preview issue, issues 1 through 9 for the entire line including the Preview spanning September of 1997 into June of 1998, some scary stunner covers from Steven Hughes and of course the writing by creator and mastermind Brian Pulido. Perhaps some slight warping but all issues remain very sharp and clean.

Jason Pearson takes the green skinned Goliath boy in blue to different avenues as the writer/artist fires off with this three part miniseries that takes place chronologically before volume 1’s issue 1, Image Comics The Dragon: Blood And Guts issues 1, 2 and 3 complete from March to May of 1995, all first printings. Pristine copies, perhaps a faint spot of edge wear but mostly all clean, sharp and marvelous.

The Boy Wonder banging down the streets of Gotham yet again with this four book take — DC’s Robin Year One TPB part 1 from Chuck Dixon and Scott Beatty from 2000, then Batman volume 1 issues 465 and 457 (the latter being the first appearance of the new Robin costume again, the former being the first solo Robin Patrol on Gotham), then finally issue number 1 of Robin 5 part miniseries from Chuck Dixon as well from January of 1991 with free poster included inside. All issues remain spectacular, sharp, clean and smooth.

Some special names and brilliant creators associated with this series, Brian Michael Bendis, David Mack, Joe Quesada, Jimmy Palmiotti, etc; unfortunately this isn’t a full run and it skips, but the story and awesome art is still there of course — Marvel Knights Daredevil volume 2 issues 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17 spanning around the year 2000. In particular that cover to issue 17 by Mack and Quesada is sensational. A finger print surface smudge near the top staple to issue 16, minor moments of edge wear and rubbing, a slight warping to the backing’s bottom corner to issue 15, small satin to backing of issue 16, brief warping to top corner of issue 17, mostly very great copies.

A Lady Death lot so large and lovely it’s almost literally ludicrous and loony! Fourteen (14) issues in total, and they’re as follows: Wizard Chaos Comics Lady Death 1/2 with certificate and mypro bagging, then Lady Death Death Becomes Her issue 0 from November of 1997, a stunner silver cover variant chrome foil embossed Issue 1 to Lady Death The Crucible, all issues of that 6 part series included from November of 1996 to October of 1997 (issue 4 is the more scarce polybagged Megadeth Band edition with Megadeth CD included, still sealed), then all three issues to Lady Death volume 1 including the chromium cover to issue 1 and for some reason 2 copies of issue 3 January to March of 1994, finally Lady Death and The Women Of Chaos Gallery number 1 and Lady Death Swimsuit Special #1 from November of 1996 and May of 1994, respectively. Whew. That’s a lot! A brief bit of warping to the bottom corner of the chrome embossed cover for Crucible issue 1 and one small fingerprint smudge to the back cover of one of the issue 3’s is all that really remains in the way of a blemish with this beautiful bunch, sharp, concise and clean everywhere.

The Jade Crusader in 3 separate shoots here — Hal, Guy, and John wind up getting "The Call" in several different ways, but the message is the same that the world needs the Green Lantern Corps again, DC’s Green Lantern Emerald Dawn number 1 from December of 1989, Green Lantern Volume 3 issue number 1 from June of 1990, finally TPB sized taut softcover DC and Marvel Green Lantern Silver Surfer Unholy Alliances from 1995 via Ron Marz and Terry Austin. Some slight warping to that last one, outstanding edges and corners everywhere else, fabulous copies.

Knockabout and Top Shelf Production’s The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen Century 1910 from mad scientist writer Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill TPB and then DC’s Power Girl from 2006 collecting issues from series Showcase, Secret Origins, JSA and others and with countless writers and artists’ work involved but in particular that Adam Hughes legendary cover. Speaking of that cover, it has one dent down the center of it, back cover has one minor ding to the left edge, concise and sharp inners and everywhere else is nice, The League TPB is clean and sharp with no major blemishes.

Billy Tan, Andy Kim, D-Tron and many more collaborated for this series, it’s not a beginning and not quite a series ending, this lot is like a chunk of the middle run mostly — Top Cow Productions’ The Spirit Of The Tao volume 1 issues 7 through 13, spanning February to November of 1999, the series would finish two issues after. All these copies are superb and sharp, great inners and excellent back covers.

And this will be the last of it for Pitt! Make it a massive lot, why don’t we — Dale Keown’s beastly alien entity conjured enough excitement to help propel Image Comics to a industry high among rivals with the likes of Spawn and The Maxx, here’s slams a strong set of issues 8 through 16 (9 issues) and then 1/2 issue Encore Presentation Issue with the label switch plus Pitt "In The Blood" Full Bleed One-Shot, issues spanning April of 1995 to December of 1997, 11 in total. All the scenes of horror and alien violence are stunning with superb pages, spectacular covers and sensational backings, no creasing to any spines, no major damage anywhere.

The final two issues to volume one and the year 2000 annual with all three of these being flip books, two takes to Witch’s Son by Scott Allie and Ryan Sook, then on the flip side A Midsummer Night’s Hunt by Ghee Hin Chuah and the other including Eric Powell’s The Goon, the annual includes a Girls Rule women’s powered morsel with Xena The Warrior Princess, Buffy The Vampire Slayer,Star Wars and Much more — Dark Horse Comics Presents issues 156 and 157 from August and September of 2000 then the DHP Annual from 2000 64 pages long. A faint but of nubbing to a corner or two, possibly some brief edge wear for a moment or two, but mostly three terrific kept issues.

Six not necessarily random but not entirely connected either issues, but they make for a good DC lot anyhow — four DC Elseworlds Annuals, Shadow Of The Bat Annual number 2 from 1994, Green Lantern Annual number 3 from 1994, the Robin Annual number 3 from 1994, The Flash Annual number 7 also from 1994, then the second of the four part saga Batman number 418 "Ten Nights Of The Beast" via Jim Aparo and Jim Starlin from 1987, finally the poster book featuring countless artists from Bats’ history such as Todd McFarlane, Neal Adams, Carmine Infantino, David Mazzucchelli and many many more The Batman Gallery issue number 1 from 1992. A very faded and fain dent to the bottom edge of Batman Gallery, but everywhere else with these copies are clean, sharp and smooth, great condition books the lot of them.

The first issue including the brilliant beginning, the first appearance of Night Owl, the death of the Comedian, the first appearance of Hooded Justice, the Minutemen and others, plus the origin of Doctor Manhattan, the origin of Rorschach and much more marvelous moments with this first half of one of the greatest Alan Moore sagas ever (which is saying a whole lot) written, brought to vivid life on the silver screen via Zack Snyder — DC’s The Watchmen volume 1 issues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 (the first half of the miniseries) spanning September of 1986 to February of 1987. Issue number one has some slight surface scuffing near the staples and top left corner, some very very brief surface dots and dings in a few places, a minor amount of nubbing to the top left corner of issue 6, a few surface smudges to back cover in a spot or two, every where else is pretty proper and ex element for this landmark mini series halving.

A time span of October of 1992 into August of 1993 for this center sampling of a sensational series, the outstanding creation of Bob Layton, Steve Englehart, BWS, and Jim Shooter, X-O Manowar was one of Valiant Comics’ more beloved and appreciated titles and has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide to date — Valiant X-O Manowar volume 1 issues 9 all the way through 19, including the "Homecoming," “Seed Of Destruction” and “Operation Deep Freeze” sagas plus a return of Turok The Dinosaur Hunter. All eleven of the examples are excellent in shape; perhaps a super duper faint surface rubbing in a spot or two if anything, but all are awesomely sharp, crisp and clean throughout.

Massive, monstrous, and insanely sized this ridiculously radical lot — having first appeared in Gold Key comics in 1962, this titular character Phil Seleski has scoured the skies and ground for ages with radiance and radioactive power, once Valiant Comics got ahold of him (acquiring his rights along with a few other vintage characters) he was rebirthed anew and grew to much fanfare quickly, it didn’t hurt that Barry Windsor-Smith crafted some captivating covers alongside fellow legends Jim Shooter and Bob Layton’s brilliant work. This is massive with a capitol M: Valiant Comics Solar Man Of The Atom issues 5 all the long long way through issue 44, with a brief skip over issue 7 (no issue 7), however this ludicrously large lot does include the first printing of the blacked out issue 10 (you know it’s a first printing because it does not include the Roman numeral II in the cover below the corner box, and of important note: that issue is especially clean and sharp which is unusual because the blacked out cover was very prone to surface scuffs and showed even minor damage very visibly). All the beginning 10 issues of the series include the pull-out origin that includes the largest comic panel ever created when assembled altogether, the taut and firmness of this panels almost acts like a second boarding. So again, this lot collects issues 5 and 6, then books 8 all the way up to issue 44 (a whopping 38 issues in total) spanning issue 5 from January of 1992 all the way to May of 1995. All of these issues are super sharp crisp clean and smooth, as you can see in the pictures provided, they came from a well stored long box rarely ever taken out if at all, possible very minor edge wear to a spot or two, minimal corner wear, but these are all outstanding in shape.

"For her, I can be…a hero!" In the 90’s Image Comics had a stronghold on the comic industry with titles that dominated fanfare like Spawn, Savage Dragon, and The Maxx, the purple Outback braving, Julie saving, spiked fisted, huge footed Maxx is shown here stupendously and completely with the entire run of his comic series plus the Wizard 1/2 with certificate and ProGuard bagging — Image The Maxx 1 through 35 from March of 1995 through February of 1998 plus the Wizard Half issue from June of 1993 as well, this series would spawn an MTV television series and numerous Maxx appearances in other series. All of these copies are fantastic and sharp in shape and most if not all are first printings, excellent corners and smooth surfaces everywhere with this Isz filled lot, the certificate to the 1/2 issue has a slight bend and the closing plastic slip to the bagging of it is loose, all comics remain in superb condition though.

The Wizard Magazine sendaway exclusive spanned many titles and numerous series, showcasing a small chunk of title and often a side story only available to that issue that would (hopefully) capture a reader’s attention to the title, here’s a terrific set of ten of those Wizard 1/2s all with their certificate and pro-guard bagging (five of the pro guards have the Wizard logo stamping to bagging), there is one issue doubled, titles are: Top Cow Tomb Raider, Image Ripclaw, DC’s Nightwing, two issues of Wild Storm’s Divine Right, Harris Vengeance Of Vampirella, Maximum Press’ Avengelyne, Top Cow’s Rising Stars, Topps Comics Lady Rawhide, and finally Top Cow Tales Of Witchblade, all spanning various years and companies. All are in like-new condition and look to have hardly been read through or opened if at at all, sharp edges and clean everywhere.

Matt Wagner’s Hunter Rose creation, the mask wearing vigilante presence that spans all of history with numerous personas and entities, is shown here in four different miniseries samplings; first, Diana Schutz and the tremendous Tim Sale’s Grendel Devil Child a two part mini issues 1 and 2 from June and August of 1999, then Grendel Tales Homecoming from Pat McKeown and Matt Wagner a three part series with issues 1, 2 and 3 from December, January and February of 1994-95, Grendel Tales Devil’s Choices all four parts to it issues 1 through 4 spanning March to June of 1995, then finally Grendel Tales The Devil May Care the six part saga with all six issues by Terry LaBan and Peter Doherty from December of 1995 into May of 1996, fifteen issues in total. All issues are sensational, sharp and smooth, only minor blemish being a slight warping to the bottom right corner of some books and or covers.

Cunning and odd compadres Abe Sapien and Lobster Johnson accompany Hellboy in the two part miniseries "Box Full Of Evil," which includes Lobster Johnson’s first appearance, part 1 and 2 from August and September of 1999, then a terrific one-shot Hellboy The Corpse and The Iron Shoes from 1996, only two parts to the next four part miniseries Hellboy “Conqueror Worm” issues 1 and 3 from May and July of 2001. The two issues to Conqueror Worm have some warping to the bottom left corner of book, more so to issue 3, possible faint amount of waving here and there but tremendous edges and corners mostly.

Six different comic beginnings beckon here: DC and Milestone’s Static number 1 from June of 1993 the Collector’s Edition Variant and the first appearances of Static and Hot-Streak, then an autographed by creator Steven Zyskowski Insomnia Press’ Catfight number 1 with certificate and myguard bagging, from the mind of the master Mike Allred Oni Press’ Crash Metro and The Star Squad one-shot from May of 1999, Antarctic Press’ A Science Affair number 1 of a 2 part series from March of 1994, Image Comics’ Troll one-shot from December of 1993 the first appearance of Troll, finally Malibu Comics’ Wrath number 1 from January of 1994. All six issues and the certificate are in sharp and superb shape, a possible faint and super brief amount of creasing or print rubbing to spines.

Showcasing the Man Of Steel with not only a unique sculpt but also with a huge heaviness (this statue is heavy, is guesstimate about twenty to thirty pounds) and beautiful display…Ron Lee was known for making clown statues but in 1993 he ventured out of the painted faces and into the caped glory of Superman. There were 8 different Superman statues produced with titles like "More Powerful" and "To the Rescue". The statue that really stands out is one called Meteor Moment. It shows Superman battling a meteor storm. It's 11" tall and 12" wide and looks more like a sculpture than a statue. This unique statue features materials that we rarely see in statues today, a marble base, metal and wire with porcelain meteors.The Superman in this sculpture isn't very detailed but the overall look is amazing. The action that is captured in this piece is incredible. You'll rarely see this statue on eBay or Hake's or at a comic shop because it was released as part of the Ron Lee World of Clowns Collector's Club, plus they only made 750 pieces of each statue, this one is numbered 186 (I think?) of 750. In fantastic condition, only one tiny and very minor surface chip to the top center meteor fragment.

Number Four in the Marvel Series of statues from Bowen Designs, Randy Bowen is easily one of the greatest sculptors and statue makers in all of comic-dom, he spared no spectacularity with this OG Tony Stark statue — Marvel and Bowen Designs’ The Original Iron Man Gold Edition from 2000 cold cast porcelain made in China, numbered 655 of 2000, measures 11 inches across and 11 inches tall roughly. Besides some dust, there are no dings or chips to the statue, blemish free.

Barbara Gordon has almost never looked as brilliant and dashing as she does with this stunning sculpt, based on the breathtaking design by Brian Stelfreeze Batgirl "On The Wings Of Night" statue by William Paquet from 1997, limited to 3600 pieces. There is some dust, one chip to the bottom right corner of the base, a slight stain to the back of her cape, and she looks to be superglued to the base (although I’m not sure if that is just how the statue sculpt is, other internet photos looked similar), plus a minor scuff to the tip of the first spike on her Batarang throwing glove.

Based on stupendous designs by Steve Rude, Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott comes to life in this 12" tall x 7" wide statue with billowing cape that is slight movable as it’s not directly connected or sculpted, created by William Paquet 1999 DC Direct, numbered 812 of 2000. Some slight dust but no chipping or scuffs to the statue, in brightest day in blackest night…

Geof Darrow and Frank Miller's The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot presented properly and perfectly with this fabulous Kent Melton sculpture as a fully-assembled, prepainted cold-cast statue — The Big Guy stands a mighty 12" high and Rusty the Boy Robot packs a powerhouse punch at a proportionate 3/12" tall, Dark Horse outdid themselves with this one, made in China and released in 1999 this statue is numbered 319 of only 1500. Rusty can be transported and placed as you wish as he’s not sculpted to the base and separate as a figurine. Some definite dust, but no dings and scratches, a slight bit of red to the shoulder of the Big Guy, one of the bottom foot pads to the bottom of base is missing.

Presenting a very awesome statue from DC Direct from 1999, the Champion of Opal City, Starman. It is individually numbered in a limited edition and only 1500 were made and this is number 1288 of 1500. The Axe end of the rod can be taken out as it’s a separate piece, three of the fingers on his left hand (not holding the weapon) are broken off, rest of the statue is as it should be with no blemishes further than that.

Brian Pulido and Chaos Comics’ woman of the underworld in a porcelain mini statue figurine from 1994 ARR A Moore Creations numbered 4392 of 10,000, then DC’s Comic Book Champions Batman Pewter Figurine statue from 1997 showcasing Batman issue number 16 in stance and display (the first appearance of Butler Alfred Pennyworth). Some slight pen marking to the bottom of base for Lady Death, and some dust and a scratch to the plastic on the back of Batman’s display is all that remains for concerns condition wise.

A grouping that makes no logical sense but you can just imagine they’re all having an important meeting of the minds. Six statue/figurines in this lot — first, The Marvel Collection Limited Edition Collector’s Series Captain America a 50th anniversary salute statue designed by Marvels’ own master artist crafted from fine porcelain bisque and mounted on a solid cherry wood base from 1990, the base is separate from the porcelain statue; then a Golden Age The Flash DC Direct mini statue by William Paquet numbered 0953 of 1600, two Pewter Wizard figurines one with wooden base that’s not attached: Summer Wizard Limited Edition 104 of 2500 sculpted by Gallo and Dalley, other Wizard is American Collector’s Guild limited to 151 out of 7500, a Mike Allred Madman bust from 1997 made in China and numbered 435, finally a Moebius Figurine statue Demons and Marveilles Les Humanoids Resin from Geneva. Condition issues are some slight dust, one of the wings on Flash’s helmet is missing, a few minor faded stains on Cap’s paint job, and the Madman bust has a few tiny dust scuff marks to his torso.

The darkly excellent and excitingly macabre series that was Warren’s flagship series shines here with covers by legends Sanjulian and Ken Kelly plus stunning inner artwork by Richard Corben, Esteban Maroto, Bernie Wrightson, Paul Neery and many others, with fantastic fearsome and ferocious framework from writers Al Milgrom, Steve Skeates, Doug Moench and many more — Warren Publishing Eerie Magazine numbers 52 from November of 1973, then continuous issues 56, 57 and 58 from April to July of 1974. Some creasing and print rubbing to spines, another crease to the bottom corner of 52’s bottom, 58’s bottom right corner tip, a slight warping for the top right corner of cover of issue 57, a few minor scuffs to the backing of issue 52, brief edge wear to the top of backing for issue 56, brief faded creases to backing for 57, a faded stain to backing and slight waving to issue 58, mostly great inners for the four issues.

Everyone’s favorite decrepit and disturbing creepster Uncle Creepy opening the crypt to tell tons of terror filled tales with this brutal bunch of books, Warren Publishing’s Creepy Magazine lot issues 102 from October of 1978, issue 107 from May of 1979, and then a straight shot for issues 109 through 115, spanning July of 1979 into February of 1980, 9 (nine) mags in total. As always with these terrorizing and tantalizing take features, numerous artists and writer god galore included, in particular interest with this lot is the all Bernie Wrightson issue for 113, Wrightson cover, all Wrightson art. Most of these copies are very nice, slight expected moments of minor creasing to spines and edges, a few to corners, minimal wear moments, scuff crease to bottom right corner on cover of issue 111, brief nubbing, mostly great inners and good backings.

Two takes to James Warren’s side series, Ring of The Warlords and Strange Stories Of Vampires Comix, including both with hauntingly beautiful Sanjulian cover pieces and including art from industry titans such as Neal Adams, Wally Wood, Archie Goodwin, Esteban Maroto and more — Warren Presents volume 1 issues 1 and 6 from January and October of 1979. Some brief nubbing to the bottom of spine of issue 6, minor tiny creases to the spine of issue 1, a few faded and brief dents and dings, backing of issue 1 has a few dents and a ding, minimal print rubbing to back of issue 6, great inners.

Beginning with the beautiful and bewitching Barbara Leigh photo cover then taking two more bites with a Penalva and Jose Gonzalez, everyone’s favorite fangstress here with three issues — Warren Publishing’s Vampirella issues 76, 79 and 83 from March, July and December of 1979, as per fangtastic usual, legendary Vampi work from Jeff Jones, Archie Goodwin, Cary Bates and many others included within. Some brief surface scuffs and a few faint creases to the cover of issue 79, minimal dings and scuffs to cover of issue 83, really nice photo cover for 76 with a few super minor creases, some creasing and slight scuffs to back of issue 83, but 76 and 79 are nicer.

If Russ Meyer and Larry Flynt made a graphic illustrated magazine, it might look a lot like this lewd but humor attempted tempting lot — starting off with this science fiction adult fantasy collector’s issue Story Layout and Press Incorporated’s Gasm issue number 1 (only a 2 issue miniseries) from November of 1977 and with a Terry Pastor cover piece, then Jabberwocky Graphics and Five Star Comics’ The Adventures Of Olivia issues 1-4 (only missing issue 5 for the whole series run) and issue number 2 of The Original Olivia from February of 1992, the Adventures series spans summer of 1989 to Fall of 1994. Obviously an adults only grouping, inner photos will be limited at best, however, the backings, inners and covers have concise and sharp edges, backings have a dent to left edge, little other damage besides a faint ding here and there, Gasm is similar with only some super minor creases to the spine and bottom right corner tip plus one diagonally to the backings left corner.

If it weren’t missing issues 1, 2 and 15, this would be a complete lot of this late 70’s / early 80’s magazine series of miniature excellent elf adventure that has since been revisited and retold in other series’ — Warp Graphics’ Elfquest volume 1 issues 3-14 and 16-21, 18 issues in total spanning 1978 to 1985, issues 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 are second or third printings as dictated by the $1 cover price however no reprints exist for issues 9 on for the rest of the series. Mostly marvelous condition for this massive lot, great spines and covers for the most part, minor moments of edge wear, brief warping and faint scuffs.

Exterminator 1 and 2 (first appearance here), Killer Hawk, Mummys, Man-Eating Aliens and H.P. Lovecraft lore abound in this bountiful bunch — Warren Publishing’s Eerie Magazine lot volume 1 issues 60 through 65, a straight six issue spectacular spanning September of 1974 to April of 1975. Most of these mags remain gorgeous in shape, faint bit of wear to bottom edge of issue 64, a super faded and minor dent vertically to the spine of issue 63, slight nubbing to bottom of spine for issue 60, minimal scuffs and dings otherwise.

Restin Dane, aka The Rook braving beasts, aliens, robots and tons other in this dystopian adventure series — Warren Publishing’s The Rook volume 1 issues 1 through 6 spanning October of 1979 to December of 1980, plus including the Warren Presents number 2 The Rook feature issue in the second spot with the Paul Gulacy Luis Bermejo cover and inner dazzling art, Bob Larkin, Richard Corben and other greats to the rest. The major blemish here is Warren Presents number 2 has a giant taped rip to the cover in two places to the left top corner,

The second half chunk of the heroic Master of Time in eight radical robot-fighting, serpent-slaying illustrated excellent adventures — Warren Publishing’s The Rook volume 1 books 7 through 14 with a straight run 8 issues spanning February of 1981 to April of 1982, a clean year span, Sherlock Holmes himself again makes a few guest appearances, and this concludes the first volume run. This second grouping has magazines even a slight bit nicer in condition than the last Rook lot, womdeful edges and corners, great spines, mostly outstanding inner pages and terrific backings, a few minor spots of wear, some brief line scuffs to bottom corners of issue 8, minimal print rubbing moments, a mostly tremendous lot.

Heavy Metal Magazine took what Eerie, Creepy and other science fiction graphic adult horror magazines before it’s time had done but in a unique enough way to establish itself as and industry leader of the time for horror/sci-fi, spawning two animated films and several other series plus numerous pop culture references and moments, here slams a lot of 14 issues — beginning with a cover less and worn issue from March of 1981, this lot features the Heavy Metal Movie magazine adaptation and first appearance of Tamarra for September of 1981, and ending with the Debbie Harry / H.R. Giger special for December of 1981, the issues are as follows: coverless March of 1981, November of 1978, November of 1979, December of 1979, January of 1980, and then April of 1981 all through the end with December of 1981’s magazine, this is 14 mags in total. The coverless March 1981 has bent bottom corners, tears to back flap, scattered wear, the rest of the lot is mostly good, with some spine creasing to some issues are varrying degrees, some minimal scuffs, a minor dent or two, brief edge wear at spots.

Denny Colt Junior in zany adventure after crazy predicament but with stunner imagery and fun story the entire way, this lot collects the last chunk of the volume run as the series would end on issue 41, this is after the series switched from Warren Publishing to Kitchen Sink — Kitchen Sink Comix’s The Spirit Magazine lot number 32 through 41 the final issue spanning December of 1981 to June of 1983, plus Will Eisner’s Quarterly issue number 1 from 1983, that series was limited to only 8 issues. Issue 39 has a fantastic interview with Jack The King Kirby and the following issue 40 a wonderful Kubert interview. All of these mags are in mostly marvelous shape, perhaps a few minor moments of rubbing and nubbing, possible faint creases, but usually great covers, even concise inner pages and excellent backings, a very nice Eisner grouping.

Continuing with the extraordinary and excellent extraterrestrial and macabre monster moments, coffins, goblins, monsters and haunts aplenty — Warren Publishing’s Eerie Magazine numbers 66 through 76 spanning June of 1975 to August of 1976, then it skips a few beats to issues 86 (the all Richard Corben issue gem), then 90 and 91. There is a big chip to the bottom right corner on cover of issue 70, some nubbing to bottom of spine for issue 90, some surface scuffs and minor creases but the majority of the majority of these mags are great edged and very good morsels, any major or even minor to moderate blemishes will be photo’d.

Cousin Eerie exuding the typical terrors and thrills in this last bunch of haunts and taunts of chaos and creeps, another big bunch of excellence with Vampira, Rook, Mac Tavish and more plus the 100th issue spectacular— Warren Publishing’s Eerie Magazine numbers 93, 94, 95, then issue 99 all the way to 108, finally skipping a few jumps to end on issue 111, 14 magazines in total, a gruesome grouping with a time span of June of 1978 to June of 1980, wondrously wicked covers and inner imagery as typical for this terrific title. Some minor moments of nubbing, brief creasing and slight edge wear, but this lot is a lovely bunch also condition wise, issue 103 does have some waving to the back cover and issue 100 has some tape residue to the cover and tape to intro page and one tiny piece to back cover, but mostly great with not much major or minor blemishes for the rest.

Two tremendous adaptations of Robert E. Howard’s prized character of barbarism and brutality, but showcased not in his own series, Marvel Super Special volume 1 issues 2 and issue 9 from December of 1976 and December of 1978, respectively, issue 2 includes the first appearance of Basqus The Butcher, a Hyborian Age Of Conan Map, plus an article about Robert E. Howard himself, issue 9 is the two tales John Buscema / Howard Chaykin "Trail Of The Bloodstained God" and "Day Of The Red Judgment.? Issue number 2 is a truly superb, sharp and sensational copy, very fantastic in shape with white sharp pages, issue 9 is Fine as well but with some very faint print rubbing to the spine and slight nubbing to the bottom of it, a tiny chip to the top left corner tip of back cover.

Beginning with the Simon Bisley Warblade cover alternate and the Art Adams Zealot cover variant and only getting wilder from there, Travis Charest and Scott Lobdell crafted a new wonder for this series — Wildstorm’s Wildcats volume 1 both variant number 1’s, then issues 2-5 spanning May to November of 1999, then the Wildstorm Divine Intervention one-shot with cameo from Gen13 and finally the Wildstorm Wildcats Wild Times Wizard issue 0 from 1999 as well. All eight issues have remained very sharp and clean, hardly even a minor blemish to any of them, perhaps some faint warping to bottom right corner tips, clean spines, great inner pages and backings.

The caped crusader here with an eight issue Gotham grab, the entirety of the five part of Siege mini-saga and half of the following Terror multi-issue story, Archie Goodwin and Marshall Rogers tackling the workings of Bruce Wayne amidst Commander Brass — DC’s Batman Legends Of The Dark Knight volume 1 issues 132 through 139 spanning August of 2000 to March of 2001. All eight wishes are excellent, clean inner pages, sharp corners, great back covers and smooth surfaces, hardly a single crease to speak of.

Hal Jordan: The Spectre and Kyle Rayner The Green Lantern with three samplings but sensational like with Phil Hale and Greg Staples covers and with Klaus Janson inking you can’t miss with stunning imagery: DC Legends Of The DC Universe volume 1 issues 36, 37 and 38 from January, February and March of 2001. All three comics are captivating in condition, no creases, dents or dings, just delights.

The outstanding and acclaimed team of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming with this brilliant beginning of Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, Image Comics’ Powers volume 1 issues 1 though 6 from April to November of 2000, "The Death Of Retro Girl." All six of these issues remain spectacular in shape, sharp, clean and smooth with not even a crease to their edges or spines.

Hourman and Snapper Carr encountering fellow JLA and JSA members in one adventure after another with even The Joker making an appearance in this modern marvelous DC lot from Tom Peyer, Rags Morales and many others — DC’s Hourman volume 1 issues 10 through 21, a straight shot from January to December of 2000, a full year’s worth of the series. Issue 12 is still sealed in a bagging that includes Superman For The Animals #1 issue, never opened, and the rest of the issues are in similar terrific condition, there is a bent corner to the backing of issue 15 and its last few pages, everything else is excellent and superb with this lot condition wise.

The first appearance of Shiv aka Cindy Burman and the first appearances of Stargirl and Starman VII in this giant Geoff Johns grab — DC’s Stars And S.T.R.I.P.E. Volume 1 lot including the much sought after issue 0 then issues 1 through 11 continuously, from July of 1999 to June of 2000, 12 issues total, a whole bunch of fantastic fireworks with this wondrous lot.

All five fantastic fantasy fables featuring lore and phenomenal King Arthur adventure with a slight twist, all five beautiful covered issues complete the one-shot run and all were released in 1999 with different artist and writer teams — Caliber Comics Legends Of Camelot Sir Balin, The Enchanted Lady, Merlin, Excalibur, and Quest For Honor. All five are phenomenal in shape, sharp corners, smooth covers, excellent inner pages and backings.

A final six spiderweb’d covered chunk of the third volume of Mattie Franklin’s adventures, dangers and escapades here, Marvel Spider-Woman volume 3 issues 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and the final issue spectacular issue 18 spanning July to December of 2000, personally I prefer the look of this Spider-Woman suit to prior examples. All six issues are clean, sharp, smooth, superb everywhere in shape.

If I said we were through with the Lady Death comics I was mistaken, a marvelous bunch here that begins with a versus every fan was clamoring to see: Vampirella Vs. Lady Death in both one-shots The Revenge and The End, then most of the Armageddon saga, issues 1, doubles of issue 3, and two variant covers for issue 4, the original and Memorial Edition from October of 1999 to January to 2000. All seven comics are outstanding in shape, clean and sharp edges and corners almost completely, great backings and concise inners.

Al Simmons in two different eras and two different series here, spectacular stuff from McFarlane/Capullo/Steve Niles/Ashley Wood — Image Comics Spawn issues 102 through 105 from September to December of 2000, then Spawn The Dark Ages issues 22 through 24 "The Seeding," "The Beast,? and “Bleed, Pagan, Bleed? spanning December of 2000 to February of 2001. A very faint bit of creases to top of spine for Dark Ages issue 24, a slight but of warving to a cover or two, but all places with these copies are outstanding and sharp, clean and smooth, great copies.

Five trade paperback sized books here, beginning with Wildstorm’s Wildstorm Thunderbook number 1 from October of 2000, DC legend Darwyn Cooke’s Batman Ego from 2000, Warren Ellis and John Cassaday’s Planetary: Leaving The 20th Century from 2004, then Sirius’ Gallery Volume 3 issue 1 from 2000 with a Dawn Joseph Michael Linsner cover that is magical, finally some industry giants collaborated for Neil Gaiman and friends’ Green Lantern Superman Legend Of The Green Flame from 2000. All remain in stunning superb shape.

Revealing what lies beyond the truth according to artist Al Rio is bullets and beauty, Image Comics Exposure the first 4 issues 1-4 from 1999 to 2000 plus the Exposure Companion with foreword by Al Rio and including original artist sketches and story work, issues 2 and 3 are the photo cover variants. Very much a similar J. Scott Campbell style and vibe. All five books are fantastic in condition with no major or even minor blemishes.

"The Burrowers" and “Thunder Blow” together with a still sealed in plastic Wizard Magazine Spotlight on Top Cow with a fresh first appearance of Ascension with the Wizard Top Cow Ascension issue 0 and accompanying collector’s card to its back, womdeful stuff — Marvel Knights volume 1 issues 1 and 2, issue 2 being the Joe Quesada Variant cover, and the Wizard Top Cow Spotlight magazine from 2001. Still sealed magazine is marvelous in shape of course, as are the Marvel Knights comics, excellent edges aplenty.

Thirteen (that’s 13) issues in this tremendous and terrific capture of a series: Image and Top Cow’s Rising Stars volume 1 including the Preview Issue, and two variant number 0’s (One being the Wizard Exclusive), then issues 1 all the way through 9 and including issue 11, August of 99 through November of 2000, J. Michael Straczynski’s epic that helped usher in a glory period for Image and Top Cow during the early 2000s. All issues are clean and sharp, some slight waving and warping to some issues in spots, however issue 11 does have some serious warping to the top left corner and bottom right corner, warped a lot, the rest of the lot is mostly great edged and nice.

Ending the year 2000 with the second short volume miniseries of action and adventure with some some cool Jimmy Palmiotti / Amanda Conner artwork, Black Bull Entertainment’s Gate Crasher volume 2 issues 1 through 5, almost a full run just missing issue 6, from August of 2000 to December, issue 5 is the variant Art Adams cover and issue 3 is the Glenn Fabry cover, Mark Waid with the storyline for Alex Wagner. All five issues at clean, sharp, smooth and concise, no concerns or blemishes.

Bursting through with a new young era of fireworks and flames, some Marvel titans tackle adventure and adversary with excellent and excitement in this chunk of this series, Marvel: The Lost Generation volume 1 issues 12 through 7, half the series as the series begins on issue 12 and counts down to issue 1, reverse style, from John Byrne and Al Milgrom and tons of other collaborators included, spanning March to August of 2000.

The Jay Anacleto cover variant for Aria The Soul Market issue number 1 from Image Comics March 2001, plus Top Cow and Image’s The Darkness Witchblade one-shot the third crossover for the duo from December of 1999 with the Randy Green and D-Tron pinup centerfold, then a four issue run of Comico’s Grendel volume 2 issues 16 through 19 spanning January to May of 1988 with the Mage segments included. All six issues are clean and sharp with only some minimal warping and waving to bottom of some areas, a few brief crease cracks to top left corner of cover of issue 17 and one small spot of surface rubbing to backing of Aria.

A pretty womdeful yet random collector’s card grouping here, first and foremost the entire 1995 FPG Jim Steranko Card set in jewel casing all cards sharp, clean and minty like, the set does not look to include any of the bonus metallics cards, 78 cards in total of The Shadow, Doc Future, Fury and other Steranko beloved art in card form; then a great line of DC Comics 1992 Series I hologram cards each with casing, 8 of those in total and including Darkseid, Deathstroke, Flash, Supes and others; then 13 more DC Comics 1992 Series I standard cards from the set from Powergirl to Peacemaker, some yellowing to some of the cases for them but the cards inside aren’t discolored or affected and a few have a removable Velcro tape to their backs; one DC Action Comics card from 1978 of issue #485 Neal Adams classic cover, a small tape piece to the inner card on that one; 3 Marvel 1991 Impel cards: Excalibur, She-Hulk, and Quicksilver; finally 54 1993 Dark Dominion Cards from The River Group and Enlightened Entertainment, random scattered numbered cards from number 1 to 142.

Chicago’s finest has never been this massive and phenomenal, Erik Larsen and Image Comics’ Savage Dragon in a crazy huge and cool grouping, 39 issues in total beginning from issue 6 from November of 1993 all the way to issue 40 from July of 1997, then a skip long ways to issue 83 from January of 2001 the Madman Atomics crossover, issue 40 is the Larsen cover variant issue, issues 34 and 35 are the Hellboy crossover, issue 30 the Spawn crossover, issue 28 The Maxx crossover, both variants of issue 25 - the original Larsen and Matsuda / Larsen cover, both cover variants for issue 13 including the Jim Lee cover, and issue 22 the TMNT crossover, otherwise you’re getting Overlord danger and Super Patriot action galore. The majority if not most of these issues are marvelous with very little to no concerns or blemishes, possibly a faint bit of warping or extremely brief edge wear, but it’s difficult to spot even a minor blemish, just a wondrous and massive lot of Dragon to behold.

The scarce and stupendous finally issue of the monumental and groundbreaking Vampi series and first issue published by Harris instead of Warren Publishing, Harris’ Vampirella volume 1 issue number 113 from December of 1987, this issue had a lot print run and was also a flop with a high number of returns, which had led to its rarity. A fantastic frontispiece by Jose Gonzales that is sharp and clean, inner pages are fantastic and sharp everywhere with no dings, back cover has some minor surface rubbing to the left center edge and two tape pieces to the top and bottom of spine unnecessarily, cover remains outstanding.

Ross Andru, Mike Esposito, Jim Shooter, Nick Cardy, Curt Swan…I mean come on, what a line-up of legends for this Joker covered issue — DC’s World’s Finest Comics volume 1 issue number 177 from August of 1968, "Duel Of The Crime King!" Lex Luthor and Joker teamed up with their treachery yet again with Bats and Supes to thwart their intents. Beautiful cover condition with slight faint creases to spine, outstanding and concise inner pages and a nice back cover that has one small name stamping to the top right corner.

So beautiful and brilliant it’s behind description but I’m gonna have a fun time attempting it anyhow — Ominous Press’ Dreadstar Omnibus Set complete volumes 1, 2 and 3, over 1500 pages of Galactic and gorgeous adventure from Jim Starlin, the cosmic epic creator of Thanos, Drax, Gamora, The Infinity Gauntlet and way more, and if that wasn’t sweet enough, it comes with 14 packaged art prints, one autographed by Starlin himself, one hologram, then a bookmark, a few collector stickers and even a packaged set of 10 or so colllector’s cards… Wow! These omnibus hardcovers are still bubble wrapped and basically new, never opened out of the bubble wrap, this set does not include a slip case for the omnibus’ but I don’t believe this set would’ve came with out with all the extras. Everything remains clean, sharp, minty and basically like new, except for two of the Ron Lim prints have some light surface wear spots to their top edges briefly.

Now how about this superb zippy excellence for a pairing — part 1 and part 2 of Superman and Flash’s third ever race, "A Race To Save Time" against the likes of General Zod, Kru-El and others amidst the Phantom Zone mishap — DC’s World’s Finest numbers 198 and 199 from November and December of 1970, who crosses the finish line first? Both terrific issues are spectacular specimens, some minor edge wear to the bottom of spine on issue 198, faint spine creasing, really nice backings and even inner pages.

Taking a dust covered trip back to the gunslinging Brave soul Golden Age with three early samplings, Dell Publishing’s The Lone Ranger volume 1 issues 61 from 1953, 91 from 1956, and issue 108 from 1957, Paul S. Newman, Tom Gill and many other early greats work. All three have been stickered labeled a FN or better, I can concur that they are sharp and clean, only faint edge wear and spine creasing moments but hardly, nice copies indeed.

Not important and incredible only because of the tremendous Romita cover art, this gem is the first appearance of Jericho and Daniel Drumm, the former is Brother Voodoo, the latter would become later down the ages — Marvel Strange Tales volume 1 issue number 169 from September of 1973, "Brother Voodoo," Gene Colan, Len Wein, Dan Adkins and so many other greats. A physician named Doctor Maitland arrives at the airport in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. A man named Willoby comes out to greet him. Suddenly, two Haitian gunmen accost them and hold them at gunpoint. A cloud of smoke rolls in, and from it steps – Brother Voodoo. Now, condition wise… A beautiful white, sharp and clean back cover, even, concise and off-white inner pages and a cover that is just delightful, great spine, terrific edges and corners, just a dazzler for this landmark.

"Nightmare On Bald Mountain" and “The Hidden World” sees the dreaded Dormammu attempt to destroy and distinguish The Defenders in their second ever appearance together — Marvel Feature volume 1 issue number 2 from March of 1972, with Buscema, Romita and Giacoia behind these pages it was destined to be a treasure many decades later. Issue has some brief surface rubbing to the top left corner and a spot to the spine, a little bit to the title as well, terrific inner pages with only a few dings to bottoms and backing that is sharp and white with two or three small moments of surface rubbing.

Gargantuan, enormous, humongous unlike anything, certainly something you don’t hardly see or ever at all… Quite literally two short boxes full of Magazine Management/Marvel’s The Savage Sword Of Conan graphic magazine, this is a straight and staggering run beginning from issue 13 which dates August of 1976 all the long long long long long way to issue 212 from August of 1993, there are a few skips which are: 192, 208 and 211, however there are copies of issue 200. If you had issues 1-12, issue 192, 208, 211, then issues 213- 235 it would be a complete run that would stand more than two decades of this title. I believe this is and should be 198 issues together total, obviously photos for every mag couldn’t be included, that would literally be a minimum of almost 400 + pictures. I’ve gone through and inspected all of these, and honestly there’s about 4 or 5 very low grade issues but the majority range from G to Fine-, most of the later issues are Fine towards the 90’s period around 115 on or so, a mostly nice bunch. The older issues are mostly Very Good, there is some expected spine creases to varying extents and some times not at all, edge wear, a few seldom backings have some pen marking, perhaps a folded inner page tip here and there, but really most are good, not many major tears other than the aforementioned few lower and worn issue. All will be bagged concisely. Really quite something special and unusually awesome!
