An authentic British 1862 Tower, assumed Confederate, Civil War black powder rifle. This historical firearm, used by Confederate forces during the American Civil War, exemplifies 19th-century craftsmanship. Top of the rifle barrel is stamped 24 which signifies a .58 caliber. The original barrel was cut down to 25" and front site added to the end. Rifle has a walnut stock with the distinctive Tower stamp and 1862 manufacturing date on the lock plate right side. It is also marked with a crown just behind the hammer, further validating its authenticity. The rifle stock appears to have an after marked peep site post on the neck of the stock. The top of the stock neck is also stamped with a "2" over a "KG". The butt of the stock has been repaired with some type of filler under the brass butt plate and the entire stock has moderate scratching throughout and has been re-stained at some point. The barrel, barrel rings and hammer have significant pitting throughout with some minor rust near rear site and hammer areas. Ideal for collectors and history enthusiasts, this piece not only represents a significant era in American history but also stands as a testament to the British influence in the Civil War. This is an amazingly rare find! Micaceous clay pottery was created in the Taos region where the clay deposits contained gold and silver mica flecks in the Rio Grande region of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. This type of pottery, dating back to AD 1300, were utilitarian pieces as evidenced by the smoke marks on the base of the pitcher. It is believed that micaceous pottery had stopped being made in the late 1800s. This particular pitcher was purchased in the region between the 1940-50s. Other than some fleabites on the body, this piece is in excellent antique condition. Measures: 7" h x 23" circumference. ma

Gorman was born on July 26, 1931, in Chinle, Arizona. His mother, Adele Katherine Brown, and his father, Carl Gorman, a notable Navajo painter, teacher, and WWII code talker, deeply influenced his artistic journey. Gorman grew up in a traditional Navajo hogan, drawing from age three. His grandmother, who recounted Navajo legends and highlighted his artistic lineage, kindled his passion for art. He began by drawing on rocks and mud and making clay sculptures. Inspired by his teacher Jenny Lind, Gorman pursued art full-time. After high school and Navy service, he majored in Literature and minored in Art at Northern Arizona University. In 1958, he received a scholarship from the Navajo Tribal Council to study at Mexico City College, where Diego Rivera influenced him. He also studied at San Francisco State College. Gorman opened the R.C. Gorman Navajo Gallery in Taos, New Mexico, in 1968, the first Native American-owned gallery in Taos. In 1973, his work was featured in the “Masterworks of the American Indian" show at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Gorman's work was featured in a PBS series on American Indian artists, including Helen Hardin and Allan Houser. He passed away on November 3, 2005, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a fall at home. 1970s reproduction of a 1887 US Mint wooden crate emblazoned with the Morgan Dollar top and tail on either side. Dove tail corner joints and two ropes with wooden handles. Two vintage Anson Mills woven canvas cartridge belts with the brass dog's head buckle patented 1881. Anson Mills is most known for manufacturing the cartridge belts for the United States Military during WW I. These belts are the civilian equivalent. Both of these three inch cartridge belts hold 45 cartridges. Both belts are in good condition. Brass buckles can be polished or left to show their natural patina. Belts can be adjusted up to 40 inches. Also included is an additional leather cartridge belt that can hold up to 16 larger handgun rounds. Belt has a silver toned metal belt buckle that appears to have once hold a coin or stone in the middle. No marking located on belt or buckle. MD

About the Artist Linda Sioux Henley’s penchant for Western Art came naturally as her family participated in professional rodeos throughout her early years. Through her mother, Linda acquired her Cherokee heritage. Her artistry first came in hair styling where she owned her salon for 13 years. A friend urged her to try cake decorating, and she became a prize-winning student and teacher in the field. At this point, she decided she would like to be creating more lasting art, and she enrolled in a sculpting class at the Cowboy Artist’s Museum in Kerrville, TX. These are marked and made by the A & FH Company of Wallingford, Vermont U.S.A., (Abercrombie and Fitch Holding) one of four companies that were producing snowshoes for the war. One of the shoes is stamped USA 10 MD. They are also stamped with dates of 1943 - 30475. Snowshoes measure and are stamped 10 x 58. They have been on a wall for quite sometime and are in great condition. Missing the boot straps. MD

Beautiful lot of small Native American pottery pieces and novelty collector pieces. The pottery pieces are small fired pieces with earth tone colors. There is also a small Santa Clara style water vessel in traditional black color. Pottery pieces vary in smaller sizes approximately 3 1/2" tall and 4" wide. The larger basket style piece does have a chip. Some crazing can be seen on the tradition bowl piece. One basket does have a signature but it is unreadable. Also included is a small sand painting titled "The Great God Spirit" coming from The Rainbow Way Ltd in Albuquerque. New Mexico measuring 5 1/2" x 6 1/2". Also included are vintage novelty moccasins, a small Pueblo village piece, a Kokopelli hanging ornament and a small Native American coffee cup. MD

Stunning pieces of antique craftsmanship found in these pair of horse / oxen hames. Made of wood, metal and brass ends, these hames would look great on the wall. Wood appears to have been re-stained at some point and shows some cracking and wear. Metal pieces are pitted and rusted, adding character. The brass tips show patina and wear. On side is missing the attachment arm of the brass ball. It has been broken off. Leather straps are more modern but in good condition. MD

The well known Hopi snow Katsina is a favorite of the Hopi people. He brought the snow which was important for the spring runoff that feeds the crops. He stands 7 1/2' tall and has some wear along the edges. It appears his left foot was cracked at the base and glued. MD

Vintage miniature Hopi Katchina doll of the Morning Singer. He is known to wake up early and ascend above the village and sing to the people to wake them for the day. He measures 3" tall and shows very minor signs of wear. MD
