Description
By Michael Duan. “My art, 'Expanding Storm', is pastel on smooth paper. I use the bold, pure colors of pastel in combination with my fascination with the weather. I enjoy focusing on the wonders of the skies while abstracting and condensing the landscape into a pleasing design which maintains the identity and mood of a representational painting. Expanding Storm depicts a late afternoon thunderstorm growing on the far horizon of the Kansas Flint Hills. It features the play of light and shadows of both the Flint Hills and the slowly building storm in the distance – the perfect combination of land, sky, beauty and power.” Pastel, 11" x 15".
