Description
Benyshek's son, Hans, is disabled. On February 1st, he asked his mother to take him for a drive in the country. They went into the Flint Hills. They enjoyed a magnificent sunset as they returned home, driving towards Wichita. Benyshek asked Hans to photograph the view as she was driving. This painting is based on that photograph. Watercolor and Gouache. Framed, 20H x 23.5W. Denita Benyshek's career highlights include a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wichita State University and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Washington. She was also an artist in residence at Botanica Gardens and Ucross Foundation, Wyoming. Her collections are housed at the University of Washington Medical Center, King County Ethnic Heritage Collection, and Harborview Medical Center. She has also had solo exhibits in Wichita, Seattle, Santa Fe, Sun Valley, and Portland. Denita lives in Wichita. Her paintings provide a beautiful celebration of nature's wonders.
