The painting was obtained by Schelhouse in the late 1960’s. Painting measures 26”x 22” and does have a small hole in the canvas.

Desk features marble top over single top drawer above fold out highly inlaid writing board encasing two interior shelves over two interior drawers and four lower storage drawers terminating in bunn feet. Desk is marquentry inlaid throughout with brass top and bottom accents on columns and brass decorated escutcheons. 1818-1873) General T.A. Torbert owned Stunning 3pc Bronze Sculpted Mantle Clock and Candelabra set. Clock depicts two crusaders sitting atop clockface resting on Large Gargoyle shaped head with opposing dragons terminating in cannonball feet and signed Pouitevin. 32” tall with one minor repair to left side of clock. The six arm candelabras are figural opposing crusaders supporting the candle holders and standing atop tri-fed gargoyle bases signed A. Poitevin and measure 32” each. This set was brought back from France in the late 1870’s by General Torbert and his wife and can be seen in many photographs in their home.

Souvenir of the Siege of Paris” Dual Prussian shell casings that were used and fell on the Plaine de Issy during the siege in 1870. The shell casings were saved and made into this very brass and brass chain fire fender. This very fire fender was brought home by General Torbert and remained in his home in front of his fireplace. 14” x 57”
