Listed Canadian artist Anthony Law oil on panel original. C. Anthony (Tony) Law DSC D.Lit (1916–1996) was a Canadian naval Official War Artist of the Second World War. He served as a naval officer throughout the war and was known for engaging with enemy coastal convoys off France, and twice mentioned in dispatches.[1] In 1944, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (DSC) for 15 successive actions during the Normandy landings. After the war, he stayed with the Royal Navy, retiring in 1966. The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia held a major retrospective of his work in 1989. The painting measures aprox. 13 x 15 inches and with frame 17 1/2 x 20 1/4 . Signed lower right and titled Williams lake Nova Scotia. Three small marks in the cloud and slight staining to the frames matte (see pictures) otherwise great condition. The bottom seat panel has been broken through but seems mostly complete with the exception of missing quills. A true piece of Nova Scotia history that deserves a quality restoration or simply to display as found. Chair measures 40 1/2 inches to top of back stile.

W.P. Dewitt Elmira N.Y. signed percussion musket. William Price Dewitt (1814-1897) was a gunsmith working at 418 Water Street in Elmira, NY from 1848 to 1891. This musket has a heavy octagon barrel measuring 32 inches with ramrod included. Beautiful brass hardware complete with old load in patch box. Action is strong and working perfectly. A couple cracks in the forearm but very stable. Two flip up sights. Appears that it may have had a peep sight attached behind the action and now shows two filled holes. A great old musket in wonderful condition. Comes with an old horn powder horn. No license required.

Donald NcNarry (1921-2010) Royal yacht 1682 waterline model. Incredibly detailed work by the master of miniature model ship building. At full sail in high seas. Case measures 14 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches and 10 inches tall. Some grain tape on the edges of the glass has worn off in some areas, otherwise great condition. A rare chance to aquire an original Donald McNarry model. Mr. McNarry, born in London, resided on the southern coast of England where he could glimpse the sea from his studio window. He built ship models all his life and from 1955 was a free-lance professional, creating over his lifetime approximately 350 models of historical ships covering the period from 700 BC to the late 1960s. Considered “the master” of extreme miniature shipbuilding by his peers, his works are highly sought after by private collectors worldwide. His contribution to the art form has been enormous and he has been instrumental in raising the overall standards expected from small-scale ship modeling. Mr. McNarry’s works are found in major public institutions and private collections worldwide, including that of the British Royal Family.
