This original black watercolor & ink is in the manner of and attributed to the renowned pop-artist, Andy Warhol. It’s one of his classic & most favorite images, Mickey Mouse. The Warhol Foundation & gallery stamps are on the verso of the artwork. Consignor collected many pieces of Warhol’s artwork since 1975. Several of the pieces were of the Mickey Mouse image. They were collected as originals to hang in the bedrooms of his young children, who loved the artwork and later appreciated them as fine art. His children, now adults, own several original Warhol pieces of artwork. They also supplied those galleries with numerous pieces of their smaller artwork, usually watercolor, ink, charcoal sketches and original mixed media pieces. Those smaller original pieces were sometimes used as a form of payment to the galleries to display & market their larger pieces of art. Galleries often would sell the smaller artwork and keep 100% of the payments, or sometimes give the art to their best patrons.
