Edition: Unique, Original work of art. Condition: Very good. Signature: lower right. Size: Visible paper size approx 7.5 x 11 inches. New Frame: 13 x 16 inches. This is an original artwork, hand-signed in pencil by Banksy. Therefore, it must be described as in the manner of and attributed to the mysterious and prolific street artist, Banksy. The artwork is in excellent condition and is a super piece by a very unique artist and in high-demand. Most of Banksy artwork, particularly his street-sign art, he signed by stencil. Very few pieces hand-signed by the artist. This artwork is owned and now consigned by a British private collector of very fine art who started collecting original Banksy artwork back in the early 2000s. This is an unusual opportunity to own a great piece of rare fine art, by a contemporary artist like none other. As stated, Banksy typically signs his street-sign artwork using his stencil signature. His paper artwork with his hand signature is very expensive and considered rare and extremely desired and collectible. Banksy is the pseudonym of this "guerrilla" street artist, well-known for his unusual, controversial, politically themed, artwork. Banksy's identity remains unknown despite much speculation, however it's believed he was born in Bristol, England, around 1974. His art and name became prominent for his provocative stenciled pieces in the mid-late 1990s. He became the subject of a 2010 documentary, Exit Through the Gift Shop, which examined the relationship between commercial and street art. The name most often suggested as Banksy is Robin Gunningham. Gunningham moved to London around 2000, a timeline that parallels the progression of Banksy's artwork. Banksy's artwork is characterized by striking images, usually combined with attractive slogans. His work engages political themes, satirical critiques about war, capitalism, hypocrisy, greed and other themes. Common images include rats, apes, bombs, policemen, royal family members, and children. There truly is only one Banksy, unique and unrivalled in artistic imagery and execution. In many ways, Banksy is an art revolutionary, he's notorious and passionate, an artist & artwork considered to be very high-end investment art.
