Medium: Gouache and Acrylic on paper. Edition: Unique, Original work of art. Condition: Very good. Signature: Lower Left. Size: Visible paper size approx 7 3/4 x 9 3.4 inches. New frame: 13 x 16 inches. This is an original gouache & acrylic on paper, in the manner of and attributed to George Rodrigue (as per ISA Member certified). The art is hand-signed and is a wonderful Blue Dog painting. The art is professionally acid-free matted and beautifully framed. Provenance: Private Estate. George Rodrigue's Blue Dog series has become one of the most popular, sought after, collectible artwork in the last 35 years. The artist rose to fame initially working in the advertising arena. His popularity because of the Blue Dog series has become a phenomenon in the art world. Stamp is on the verso. His signed prints (serigraphs & silkscreens), depending on size and whether offset or limited-edition, are expensive. However, his original art is always in high-demand and very expensive (usually between $10,000 - $50,000 for non-canvas art - depending on size and image, and $50,000 - $250,000 and more for his larger canvas artwork). Everyone loves Rodrigue's Blue Dog series. Even the kids adore Blue Dog. A similar sized Blue Dog acrylic & gouache painting sold on The Benefit Foundation Auction about 7 months ago, sold for $17,000! It's also attributed to the artist based on the opinion of a Certified ISA Member.
