Description
Welcome to the Bellville Fair Livestock Auction 2020! Because of the current state of affairs, the Bellville Fair Livestock Auction will only be held online. The Fair Board believes in the value of our area youth and wishes to support them while still complying with local and state restrictions; so here we are. On behalf of the Fair Board and the exhibitors, we thank you for taking the time to visit this year's auction. Your support of this event and the youth is truly appreciated. Since the auction is online this year, we are sure you'll have questions. Here are some answers to common questions: Does the exhibitor get the bid money? Yes, the exhibitor will receive the amount of the winning bid (less a 5% commission that goes to the Fair Board to cover expenses). Can I purchase an animal for my freezer? Unfortunately, this year that will not be an option. With the exception of the champions (goats, lambs, hogs, & steer), all animals will remain the property of the exhibitor. May I make an additional donation (commonly referred to as an add-on) to an exhibitor through this auction? Add-ons will not be collected through the auction this year. If you would like to make an add-on, please contact your local Buyers Club. The Clear Fork Buyers Club will accept addons for Clear Fork Students, please copy and paste the following link: https://clearforksbuyersclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Clear-Fork-Add-Ons-2020.pdf Am I bidding by the piece or the pound? You are bidding by the PIECE. For instance, if you win the bid at $400, you owe $400. If I'm the winning bidder, how do I submit payment? An invoice will be emailed to you within 24 hours after the conclusion of the auction. Please mail a check payable to Bellville Ag Society to 131 Main St. Bellville, OH 44813. Will my credit card be charged? No, you only needed a credit card number to acquire a bidder number. How will the auction end? The auction will begin to close at 6 PM on Sunday, September 20. At 6 PM lot 1 will start to close, 20 seconds later lot 2 will start to close, continuing with a new lot every 20 seconds thereafter. The auction features a soft close, which means that when a bid is placed on animal in the last few minutes of the auction, the bidding for that lot will be extended for a few minutes. This gives all bidders a fair opportunity to bid on the animal before it closes. How will I know if I'm the winning bidder? Winning bidders will receive an invoice within 24 hours after the conclusion of the sale. It will be sent to the email address used to register for the auction. Who can I contact if I have questions? Direct questions about animals to Jason Tilton, fair board director, 419-564-1111. For questions about payments, please call the Fair Board Office, 419-886-4280. Questions about the auction procedures can be answered by Whatman Realtors & Auctioneers Office: (419) 756-8012 or Derek Whatman cell: 419-564-5151. We'd like to thank Whatman Realtors & Auctioneers for their donated services and continued support of the Bellville Fair Livestock Auction.
