Description UPDATE: Added picts of butt, water table and barrel flats. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS IS A GIBBS No1 or No2 caliber...Beautiful example of old world craftsmanship, circa early 1890s on this English double rifle. George Gibbs made with 28" rust blued side by side barrels. Front and rear post style sights. Splinter style forend and pistol grip stock, eloquently checkered. Generous hammers on a traditional side-lock with double triggers and underlever style take down. Receiver, hammers and breech block have pleasant scroll engraving through out. Chambered in the patented .461 Gibbs, capable on any African hunt. Numerous proof marks on water table and barrel flats. ANTIQUE, NO FFL NEEDED Condition: Bores and barrels are excellent, strong rifling. Forend has one chip near receiver. Stock and butt plate are excellent. Mechanically strong and crisp. Lock up is tight with zero wobble. Barrel Length: 28" Serial: C310 Manufacturer: GIBBS, GEORGE Caliber: .461 Gibbs Year-Range 1890 - 1895

CT Firearms Auction accepts payment by cash, check, wire transfer, and all forms of credit cards. 3% Discount for Check payment. The fastest method of payment is by credit card through our online payment portal. Please note that first time and out-of-state checks require clearance prior to the release of merchandise. Handguns ship for $35, Long Guns for $45 (insurance included *) Special and large Shipping quotes must be obtained at least 48 hours prior to the auction. All items over 10 lbs or 45" OAL may incur oversize shipping charges. Pickup of all winning items is ONLY by appointment during normal business hours. Pickup appointments scheduled through online calendar link in your invoice instructions. Storage beyond 14 days of the auction is not available and all winning items must be removed, shipped or delivered within 14 days of auction date. Any lots that left longer than 14 days may be forfeit unless prior arrangements are made in writing.
