Description A rare opportunity to own a pair of the finest shotguns in the world by renown Holland & Holland of London. This matching pair is no exception, a stunning example of the Royal Hammerless Ejector Side by Side. Both of 12 bore and nitro proofed on barrel flats as such. Both have 30" barrels with single silver bead front sights, concave ribs meeting at the skillfully engraved receiver body. Each has a splinter style forend, accented with blued buttons, diamond checkering and matching leafy scroll. Receiver, locks, fences, trigger guard and take down levers all carefully engraved with a tight, deep leafy scroll. Hinge pin has rosette matched engraving. Lock pins are polished or fire blued giving bright character to each gun. Loaded chamber indicators are inlaid with gold and easily recognizable. Take down lever and trigger guards are blued and accent the coin silver finish on the frame/locks. A gold inlaid "1" or "2" are placed on top of tang, barrels and forend for easy pairing. "Safe" is also highlighted with gold inlay. Both shotguns feature the Holland Patented side screw for easy replacement of the firing pins. English stocks have hand selected walnut with beautiful striations and figure. Butts are traditional checkered wood. Brass monogram plates are inscribed "AM". The guns are set in the traditional Holland & Holland oak box wrapped with leather, accompanied with cleaning rod, brush, screwdriver and silver snap caps. Verification from Holland & Holland is included. Must ship to FFL or C&R Condition: Excellent. It is exceptionally rare to find guns of this age in this condition. Bluing on barrels is near perfect with only marks where the forend meets the barrel. Wood furniture has only light storage impressions in a few spots. with the exception of Gun #2. It has a repaired chip at the toe of the stock. Also, Gun #1 has a chip in the forend near hinge. Case coloring is a muted grey-blue, faint and seen at an angle. Mechanically excellent, both top levers sit right of 6 o'clock. Bores are mirror bright. Oak trunk is heavily weathered and has obviously protected these shotguns for decades.
