Description Finely done British side by side from Henry Atkin of Purdey. Marked by E.C. Hodges, a well known gunsmith with exquisite craftsmanship. Single front silver bead sight sits on the 29" barrels marked "MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL HENRY ATKIN (FROM PURDEY'S) 2 JERMYN STREET HAYMARKET, LONDON". English scroll engraving on side locks and fences. Nitro proofed and duly marked as such on the barrel flats and water table. Bluing is extremely strong and brilliant. Splinter forend and straight English stock made with nicely figured exotic walnut. Auto ejectors and double triggers. Non auto safety. A gold inlaid number "3" is present on the break lever, barrel and forearm . True side-lock gun resembles that of a Purdey design, Henry Atkin originally apprenticed with Purdey and then branched off to his own quality production. Includes Oak and tan leather case with Purdey label on the inside. Must ship to FFL Condition: Excellent Plus. Bluing is 98% with only stray marks. Wood is excellent plus, hardly a mark to find. Frame is <30% case color remaining. Bores are mirror bright. Action and lock up are excellent. Payment is due within 7 days of invoice date. Invoices are generally sent within 2 business days of sale date. CT Firearms Auction accepts payment by cash, check, wire transfer, and all forms of credit cards. 3% Discount for Check payment. The fastest method of payment is by credit card through our online payment portal. Please note that first time and out-of-state checks require clearance prior to the release of merchandise. Handguns ship for $35, Long Guns for $45 (insurance included *) Special and large Shipping quotes must be obtained at least 48 hours prior to the auction. All items over 10 lbs or 45" OAL may incur oversize shipping charges. Pickup of all winning items is ONLY by appointment during normal business hours. Pickup appointments scheduled through online calendar link in your invoice instructions. Storage beyond 14 days of the auction is not available and all winning items must be removed, shipped or delivered within 14 days of auction date. Any lots that left longer than 14 days may be forfeit unless prior arrangements are made in writing.
