Bringing to online bidding a nice selection from some dear friends to me and my family.
A Note from Marvin Rowland's Family:
"This Project began with my sister, Madelyn and I deciding it was time to De-Clutter Mother’s Basement.
Mother (Doris A. Rowland) has always kept our home immaculate; however, when Daddy (Marvin C. Rowland) passed away in March 2005 and Mother was diagnosed with Osteopenia in May 2005, as a result of a broken femur bone, the Basement Living Area was not utilized on a Regular Basis. My sister and I would take items upstairs to mother and return them to the basement; however, we would just “put” them somewhere/anywhere rather than “place” them where they had been kept for many/many years.
At a time like this there are Choices: Keep, Give Away, Sell or Throw Away. We were discussing a Yard Sale; however, our dear friend, Judith W. Hedgpeth recommended Russells Auction Firm. When she shared that you were the Owner, the decision was made without any further discussion. The reasons were: Daddy “loved” Yard Sales and Auctions & Daddy “loved” you --- you had assisted him in completing several projects with your talent of painting.
It is difficult to sell family items; however, it is best for these items to be used and enjoyed by others than to remain stored. The memories can be captured in pictures and can remain in our hearts/minds forever. But, this is made easier when those involved know our loved ones and we can share stories, laughter and tears with one another while cleaning, organizing, packing, etc.
There are Items on the On-line Auction that have been made by Daddy. These are Items you never take for granted; however, at a time like this we do stop for a moment to consider that once the Item is Gone, It is Gone. Daddy will never make another. The Value then is not based upon a Dollar; however, the Value is Priceless to those who knew, loved and cared for the person.
Daddy shared that his passion for building items was based upon his childhood experience. Each summer his parents would give him and his brother (Eddie Rowland) Wood, Nails and a Hammer & they would build and unbuild items (bird houses, rabbit traps, etc.) until it was time to return to school.
Most “all” items for Sale represent a special time, place, person and/or story. And, I have had the pleasure of sharing with those who have been assisting with the preparation of the On-Line Auction.
Although, there are Over 600 Lots on the On-Line Auction, I am planning to prepare a Photo Album including pictures of some of the Items being sold so the memories will last forever."

This is the reason I have been so blessed by old friends. Marvin and I did many projects together, he was such a humble man, good person to everyone, Like his entire family. The story behind my job has been the largest blessing that I can receive in this life. What a previlege it is to me to represent this family.
