Description |
If this is your first time bidding with us ... WELCOME! WE ARE GLAD YOU ARE HERE!
Below is some helpful information to help you navigate the bidding process and if you need more help... just reach out! We are here to help!
LOTS
1. Each item or group of items is called a "lot". Each lot has been assigned a Lot Number and this is how the item you are bidding on is identified. It will be identified by this number in the auction and on your invoice and at the pick up.
2. Some lots have one item in them, some lots have many items in them. Make sure when you pick up your items you ensure and confirm that all of the items from your lot are with you BEFORE YOU LEAVE PICK UP. Once you are gone if you do not have all the items from a lot you purchased we can not guarantee a missing item will be retrievable.
BIDDING:
1. All lots start at $3.00. The bids go up in denomination every time someone bids on the lot.
2. Once you bid on a lot you are entering into an agreement with us (our company) that you will pay for and pick up the item you are bidding on. IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE THE PICK UP OF AN AUCTION - DON`T BID. Please. We will explain in a second why it's a big pain in the you know what when you bid and don't pay or bid and don't pick up.
MAX BID:
1. Max Bid is a way for you to tell the software the maximum amount of money you are willing to bid on an item so that you will be the highest bidder (the winner) until someone outbids your Max Bid amount.
2. The software will not spend all of your money at once. It will only keep bidding enough so that you are winning the item up to the maximum amount you bid.
For example:
If you are bidding on a pair of pink roller skates and the current bid is $3.00. You REALLY want the pink roller skates so you bid $4.00. But then you start to worry someone will outbid you and you don't have time to keep bidding to win. You enter a Max Bid of $20.00 because that''s the most you are willing to spend on the pink roller skates. So when Joe bids on the pink roller skates and bids $5.00 the software will immediately bid $6.00 to outbid Joe. The software will keep doing this anytime someone outbids you up to your Max Bid of $20.00.
If someone bids more than your $20.00 Max Bid the software will send you an email and let you know you have been outbid so that you have the opportunity to bid again or let the item go.
Dang. That's some smart software!
PREVIEW:
1. This auction is AS IS - WHERE IS. That means you are buying the items in the condition they are in as they are presented to you in this auction. If you are worried something doesn't work , may not fit, isn't the right size or have questions about its condition - make an appointment to preview the item.
2. We take lots of pictures and give the best descriptions to our knowledge. If there is any question or doubt in your mind - make an appointment for preview.
RESERVES:
1. Reserves are set by the owners of the items. We are not the owners. We are the sellers of the items.
2. Reserves are a way for the seller to protect an item from selling for an amount lower than they would like to let the item go for. The reserve is the amount the seller wants to get for the item otherwise they would rather keep the item and it not sell.
Look. We aren't crazy about reserves. But sometimes they are necessary. If you are bidding on an item that has a reserve and you bid less than the reserve - you will not win the item. We always publish the reserve amount in the description so you will always know the target for bidding.
SOFT CLOSE:
1. This auction begins closing at 7:00 pm CST. Lot 1 closes at 7:00 pm and every lot follows in numerical order every 15-20 seconds thereafter.
2. Every lot has a count down clock once closing begins to tell you how long you have left to bid before that lot has sold to the highest bidder. If you bid on a lot in the last 3 minutes of it's countdown clock, the clock will reset for an additional 3 minutes.
For example: If the pink roller skates have :45 seconds left before they sell to Joe for $25.00 and you bid $30.00, the clock will reset for 3 minutes on that lot. This prevents someone from "sniping" an item at the last second and gives the opposing bidder the opportunity to decide if they want to bid again.
"MAY HAVE WON":
1. This is what the software will tell you when the auction closes and you are the highest bidder. It says "may have won" because your payment has not been processed at that point.
UNPAID INVOICE:
1. You will receive an Unpaid Invoice when the auction closes showing you the lots you won and the amount your credit card on file will be charged.
2. If you are tax exempt this is the time to email us your tax exempt certificate so we can remove taxes before your payment is processed.
PAYMENT:
1. Your credit card on file will be charged the amount on your Unpaid Invoice.
2. You will receive a Paid Invoice when payment has been processed. Please keep a copy of this invoice handy on your phone or print a copy to bring with you to Pick Up.
PICK UP:
1. Pick up dates are published in 10 different places in the auction you are bidding. It is also in the Registration email, the email you get with your Unpaid Invoice and the email you get with your Paid Invoice.
2. Why so many places? Because if you bid on the item, win the item, pay for the item, we would like you to enjoy the item!
3. We are not a moving company. We can't transport items from an off site sale to our warehouse every time someone "forgets" pick up or makes other plans.
4. If you don't pick up your item, you forfeit your item. It will be treated as abandoned property and left on site. We want you to have what you paid for, but we need you to pick it up or arrange for shipping AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO PICK UP by emailing us.
DECLINED CREDIT CARDS:
1. We want you to have what you paid for so we always give bidders who are having trouble with a credit card they registered with the opportunity to reach out to us with another form of payment or bring another credit card to pick up.
2. If your payment does not process and you do not come to pick up with another form of payment, you will be blocked from all future bidding with our company and given a negative bidder rating that will be assigned to your customer profile and seen by all auction companies that use the same bidding platform we do (it's a lot of auction companies all over the world).
Why so harsh?
Because when you bid on an item you outbid someone else who also wants the item. If you bid and don't pay, you are outbidding someone who was willing to pay.
You bid, win, and don't pay means we don't get paid, our cataloger doesn't get paid, the seller doesn't get paid. That means we all worked for free and you agreed to pay for the item you bid on and then didn't keep your end of the deal. It would be hard for us to stay in business that way. If you have no intention of paying, please don't bid.
That's a lot of info! But online auctions are great fun and exciting!
So kick back, grab a beer or some cookies and milk or a bottle of water and START BIDDING!
