Description
19th Century American percussion double barrel combination rifle/shotgun. The shotgun barrel is 12 gauge, while the rifle barrel is approximately .54 caliber. The gun features 32” barrels with a post front and buckhorn rear sights and wooden ramrod. The barrels show heavy patina and surface rust with a full-length rib. The receiver and hammers have gone to a silver/grey patina with old, light engraving still visible. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with a blank silver escutcheon plate behind the tang and silver inlayed buck on the cheek piece. The trigger guard is ornately finished in brass with double triggers. The butt ends with a smooth steel butt plate providing a 14” LOP to the front trigger. This an interesting frontier period firearm dated circa 1850’s-1870. Est.: $800-$1,600.
