We are proud to present you the extremely rare chance to buy this beautiful mature giraffe head taxidermy mount at auction with absolutely NO reserve! This piece stands roughly 8 feet tall and definitely has a rich, massive look that would be the statement piece of your home. Imagine this piece in the entry way. It would definitely catch everyone's attention. This terrific piece is on a wood base making it a free standing mount. We encourage you to scroll through the photos to see the detail and beautiful work of this piece. Please note it does need repairs throughout. They don't affect the structural condition and honestly don't affect the display look of the item in our personal opinion. It could easily be left as is and put in a home. There was a very nice collection of items in this auction from there, however this item is by far the most unique! It's probably fair to say that the giraffe is the most exotic and instantly recognized mammal on the planet. The fact remains that the giraffe is the tallest mammal in the animal kingdom, with legs alone that often reach over 6 feet in height, the giraffe towers above all else, often just under 20 feet in total height. The giraffe's long legs allow it to run at an astonishing 35 MPH sprint, and can cruise comfortably at 10 MPH. Their tall stature and long necks provide the perfect opportunity to graze delicious tree-top vegetation, and when that isn't enough, they deploy their 20-inch tongues to finish the job! This includes an antique Union Railroad station clock off of the union station in Grand Rapids, Michigan prior to it being knocked down, a fabulous French marble and gold gilt ormalu clock with the matching candelabras, a terrific collection of antique German marbles such as an extremely rare over 2" large 4 panel onion skin and more. This sale also entails a very rare Victorian salesman sample horse drawn buggy carriage, an outstanding collection of books, burlwood marquetry inlaid lap desk and boxes, antique miniature mohair teddy bears, soapstone figures, two extremely well and intricately carved genuine jade Chinese figures done in the late 19th or early 20th century, vintage decorative Christmas trees, a very nice collection of art work, sculptures, antiques, knick knacks, furniture, primitives, advertising, and so much more! Buyers are responsible for bringing their own tools to disassemble large items, their own help for moving, and packing materials. All items are charged a 10% buyers premium. A 3% surcharge will be applied to credit card sales. 5.6% sales tax applied to all sales unless supplied with a seller resale number. Please contact us PRIOR to the auction closing if you will be paying cash. All items must be picked up on the assigned date. If you are unable to pick up on the assigned date you can contact us via email prior to the assigned date to reschedule. Their is a $25.00 fee that applies when rescheduling. After three days your items may resold or donated at the discretion of Silver Spring Estate Services. We encourage buyers to do their own due diligence prior to bidding. This includes reading descriptions and looking at photos thoroughly prior to bidding. Credit card and cash will be accepted. A 13% buyers premiuim with be applied to all sales paying with credit card, and 10% buyers premium will be applied to all sales paying with cash. ALL sales will be subject to an additional 5.6% sales tax, unless supplies with a Wisconsin Reseller Number. Winning bidders who pay with credit card, will be charged within 24 hours from the end of the auction. Buyers who are paying cash are required to pay in full at time of pickup. Failure to pick up or pay for items will result in credit card automatically being charged and a $25.00 disposal fee, UNLESS additional arrangements have been made.
