THE HISTORY
516 W. Franklin is a nice example of the eclecticism of domestic suburban architecture. Built by James Costello, owner of a local lumber mill in 1908. It was later the home of Dr. Glenn Hendren, a prominent Liberty Physician during the 1940’s-1960’s. The Dougherty-Prospect Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. This district contains some of the community’s best examples of the popular style from the early twentieth century.
