Lead Nice 1988 Capcom MAGIC SWORD project video game
Description
This is a nice solid cabinet in decent shape, currently housing a Capcom MAGIC SWORD games. The cabinet was originally a Stern game, most likely Scramble. But the conversion is actually a pretty quality one. The sides are nice black with artwork on each side. The marquee is in excellent shape and lights up with a fluorescent fixture. The control panel has Magic Sword artwork underneath a plexiglass protector. The plexi really needs removed and cleaned under, and then this game would really be in nice shape. I just didn't have the time to do this. The game is almost working. First, the 19" monitor has NO burn on the tube, which is rare. It appears to work, although it is kind of flickery, which could be any number of things. Could be a unstable power supply causing noise on the picture, or could be a bad connection with the flyback to the tube, or a bad or dirty potentiometer, or something else. But anyway, the picture looks pretty good otherwise and should be able to be made stable. The power supply appears to be fully working and the board is booting up and playing with sound. However, the graphics are kind of messed up. Like the sprites and the background graphics are kind of jumbled. But the game is still playing. So that sounds to me like problem with one of the graphics chips on the game board. Maybe needs the chips re-seated, or maybe one has a leg not in the socket. The cabinet is missing the back door, but it's an easy thing to replace with plywood. The coin door looks pretty nice, and has two coin mechs. Also, someone wired up and installed a free play button in the lock opening. This could be removed if you wanted to operate this game for coin operation. Missing coin box. Cabinet does not appear to have water damage. The bottom is still a little rough, though. Most of these stern cabinets are rough on the bottom because they almost never have feet, and that means that they are always just resting with wood on the ground, so every time they are moved, the bottom edge of the wood gets a little banged up.

Description
This is the Second Arcade Game Auction (of many to come) from our overflow warehouse in lovely downtown Atlanta, IL. NO BUYERS' PREMIUMS! NO HIDDEN FEES! After collecting (hoarding) games since about 1987, we have amassed a large and unique collection of thousands of classic games. This collection has given birth to Arcadia, Pinball Paradise, and the Route 66 Arcade Museum in central IL. Despite ambitious future expansion plans, we still have more games than we need (and not enough time) so we have decided to make them available to the public for the first time. Many collectors have seen our legendary warehouses and wondered when this stuff would be made available for sale. Some may have even pondered the idea of our inevitable death and the following estate sale. Well, the wait is over. We are going to start letting them go, even while we are still alive! We can't take 'em with us! The majority of these games are "as found" from our countless warehouse raids over the last 35 years. While many are in rough condition, there will be a lot of rare titles that haven't been seen at an auction in decades. Some are fully working. Some are repairable and/or restorable. Some are only good for parts. ALL are honestly photoed, described, and videoed so that bidders can see everything possible to make a good bidding decision. These items have come from a wide variety of sources so look at each game you are interested in carefully with fresh eyes. Just because one game is a water damaged junker doesn't mean the next one is.
All items are sold as-is, where is. Must be paid for in full before removed from the building. Buyers can arrange a pickup time anytime before April 4th. We will gladly help load. Anything not picked up by April 4th will be considered abandoned and be re-sold at the next arcade auction. Sales tax of 6.75% collected on anything picked up or shipped to addresses in IL, unless a tax-exempt certificate is provided. There will be no handling fee for pickups or shipping large freight items as long as you make all arrangements and all we have to do is meet the shipper for pickup. We will not palletize items, so we recommend North American Van Lines for shipping. NAVL Shipping quotes can be obtained us or by you by emailing coinop@beltmann.com and giving them a description of the item, the pickup zip code (61723) and your delivery zip code. We get no better pricing than you do, so get quotes yourself, or feel free to ask us to get quotes if you prefer. You can also call NAVL at 800-959-8880. You can email us at vintagevideogames.com@gmail.com. We will be happy to arrange shipping of games and other large items for you, but for a $10 per item handling fee (our time is precious). Regarding parts and other non-game items: some extremely difficult-to-package items may have a higher handling fee, and this will be disclosed in the description of that item. If there is no handling fee mentioned in the description, it will be the default $10. For this fee, shipping of UPS-able items will be well packaged and shipped for you via UPS, USPS, or FedEx, whichever is cheapest. Shipping charges for these items must be prepaid by you. If the item is a large freight item, we will make all arrangements for you for this $10 handling fee. You will be responsible for actual shipping charges in addition to the handling fee. Shipping charges for freight items will be C.O.D. (If NAVL allows. I had a few cases recently where they told me they no longer allowed COD and in those cases, shipping charges will need to be prepaid).
Your bid must adhere to the bid increment schedule.
