Housed in a special holder signed by Bob Evans certifying that the 1.5 grams of gold nuggets were recovered from the 1857 shipwreck of the S.S. Central America. 1 of 1857 issued

Beautiful example of this note from the early years of the United States. Great color. Gray's signature is very strong, while the other is lighter. Mica is visible (early anti-counterfeiting tool). The note states "The bearer is entitled to receive Sixty Spanish milled Dollars or an equal sum in Gold or Silver, according to the Resolution of Congress of the 14th January, 1779" Printed by Hall and Sellers, 1779.

TR in bottom corners. From Great Britain. Cancelled with mount residue on reverse. Great Britain issued the very first postage stamps in the world just one year earlier, in May of 1840. Postage stamps did not come into use in the United States until 1847.

Minted for the 102nd ANA Convention at Baltimore in 1993, this nice set is housed in a custom felt-lined box. One medal is .999 fine silver and weighs one troy ounce. The other medal is made of bronze. They are not marked but have been x-rayed to determine the metallic makeup. Each is marked on the edge 114 and 150, which presumably means that these are #114 out of 150 produced.

Called a "token" because this is a fantasy coin. Produced by Dan Carr at his Moonlight Mint in Colorado. Very limited issue. Although it has never circulated, ANACS decided to give it a grade of AU58.
