Large bronze medal/plaquette in a Signature Art Metals lined box with clasp. Comes with a 2009 article from CoinWorld describing this very item and the story behind it. It was commissioned for the bicentennial of Lincoln's birth and was made using the original 1907 galvano by Victor David Brenner (VDB) which was purchased from his brother, Samuel Brenner, in 1929. The plaquette weighs 1 pound 4 ounces and measures 3 1/2" wide, 4 5/8" high and 1/4" thick. The condition is pristine.

Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this impressive coin is made of pure .9999 fine silver and weighs one troy ounce. The features on a normal coin stand about .03 millimeters above the fields. On this coin, the bison stands 6.1 millimeters (about 1/4") above the fields, or 20 times deeper than a normal coin. Very impressive and very unusual. Comes in its original packaging with COA and informative card.

Just pulled out of decades-long storage are 64 rolls of copper Lincoln Memorial cents in rolls. Each roll is a solid-date roll, and the earliest is 1959. The latest we saw was 1978. The rolls look uncirculated. Nearly all the rolls look full, for a total of approximately 3200 coins.

Due to the prevalence of coin doctors, PCGS - among others - has gotten very leery of straight-grading just about any toned coin for fear that it may have been toned professionally. They are doing their customers a great disservice, in our opinion, by not learning how to discern between artificial and original toning. The ANA offers an excellent course in their annual Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs that teaches that exact skill. We have taken the course several times. We suggest that PCGS make the investment, as well. This coin looks fully original and has beautiful golden-amber toning. Crack it out and add it to your collection. You'll be glad you did.

The US Mint did not release any mint sets in 1950. This page includes 12 uncirculated 1950 coins, including the Philadelphia cent, nickel, dime and quarter; the San Francisco cent, dime and quarter; and the Denver cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar. This is a nearly complete set, only missing the Philadelphia half dollar.

The total actual silver weight of this lot is 2.8 troy ounces.

Kanto Base Command, Airmen's Open Mess. Also known as a Confinement Token, used in prison camps, in this case, in Kanto, Japan. Probably from Korea or Vietnam era. This example looks unused
