70 Taj Mahal Sunken Treasure Silver Set - 12 oz .999
A 320+ year old silver rupee mounted in a 12oz .999 silver medallion. The coin is a rupee of Emperor Aurangzeb that was issued in 1702 and lost in a shipwreck that same year. Arthur C Clarke discovered the wreck in 1961 and 2 years later, he went back and recovered the coins.There were 350 of these medallions created and on the edge of this one is stamped 135. Deep Cameo Proof Struck Medallion made of 12 oz. .999 Pure Silver and plated in 24K gold. The treaure discovery is detailed in Arthur C. Clarke's 1964 The Treasure of the Great Reef and Indian Ocean Treasure. It is the only known sunken treasure from the Taj Mahal dynasty.

(or 1.44 lbs.) with the stamped marking 159 on the top. The set also includes an authentic 1750 Ferdinand VI bust-type 8 escudos gold coin.
