Originally brought from a 10yr old beginner unfortunately Wally was a bit too big for her. Since being with me Wally has done trails and had my beginner partner ride him, not once has Wally done anything under saddle can be a little fresh after a break but only a little pig root then he’s fine, I lunge all my horses before work (never done anything under saddle). He does require front shoes. Wally is the ultimate horse to own quiet and sensible. Wally can be clipped, washed, rugged and saddled up without any issues. He’s great to float straight or angle and good for the farrier. Wally is food motivated, looks after his rider, been around machinery, cattle, wildlife and dogs. Can be bossy with another horses and in your face at feed time but is an easy keeper! I personally cannot fault this boy. Although he has been ridden by beginners, I wouldn’t recommend him as a first horse due to his size. He has more whoa than go. He much prefers to avoid cantering (it’s too much effort for him) but he will canter I find spurs help, he’ll happily trot and walk around his canter is a little sloppy as he doesn’t put effort in.
