An important collection of 100+ black and white personal (not official military) photos, many silver gelatin, contained in a well-worn leather bound Logalbum.
Each photo is mounted with photo corners to stiff black pages, most having captions in white pencil below. Some photos are missing from the pages.
Highlights include a photo of the Graf Zeppelin and other zeppelin photos, various submarines surfaced or surfacing, many aircraft flying in formation, an experimental Navy aircraft, a chemical bomb exploding over the Old Alabama, a Pitcairn Autogiro, the USS Vestal with razzle dazzle camouflage paint, and many other significant and rare images. Also in the album is a Nautilus Rex certificate dated 1934 but not complete with ship’s name, heading or longitude, nor is the seal embossed.
Photos show only a small portion of the collection. Nearly all are of military craft or buildings. Only a very few have people featured.
