Always a man of mystery and intellect, Uncle collected some interesting artifacts over the years. Among the items in this collection are four larger black and white photographs taken by Charles Kirman. Kirman was an award winning photographer for the Chicago Sun-Times and won several awards for his work. The topics covered in these photos include the election of Jane Byrne as Mayor of Chicago, as well as a crash on the CTA tracks and an airplane crash near Midway Airport. Also included in this collection of artifacts are some older Bowman cards and a few non-sport cards.

Chinese Provincial Hat Box from the 1900s. A round box with a finely woven design. Judging by the shape of the lid, this box might have been used originally to store festive Chinese summer hats. Has a 12.5" diameter and measures about 9" tall (excluding the handle).

Snuff Bottle, Japan. Porcelain snuff bottle, believed to be from 1830's Japan. Contains some silver. Metal unattached near cap. Wear, tear and age apparent. See photos for more details.

Beautifully embroidered Japanese silk jacket displaying traditional Japanese gardens and landscapes. Intricate colors of gold, blue, silver, and green are used to depict the Japanese scenery embroidered on the jacket. The full length is approximately 47.5", waist is 18", sleeves are 21" and shoulder to shoulder length is approximately 18". Per consignor details, jacket was purchased in the 1950s. Made in Yokohama, Japan. Jacket appears to be in good condition with limited snags on silk threads, there is some staining on the inside cream lining, which is indicative of age and being well used by original owner. 2 side belt loops are torn but can easily be repaired, original belt that came with jacket is not available.

1-Indigo Korean Silk Jacket with intricate floral patterns and Japanese temples using a variety of colors including pinks, golds, and light blues with an additional pattern and display of vibrant colors on the inner lining of jacket. Jacket is approximately 42" in length, with a 12" waist, 17.5" sleeve and is approximately 16" from shoulder to shoulder. 2-Indigo silk robe with floral embroidery on pockets and dragon embroidered on back. Robe shows wear and fraying, including several loose threads, right shoulder is also torn exposing the padded lining underneath, cream border shows discoloration and staining. 3-Eleven silk handkerchiefs / pocket squares with several different floral embroidered designs displayed in a single corner of the handkerchief. Silks are of similar sizes, approximately 10.5" x10.5" in length. Each silk varies in forms of wear or staining. Please see photos for more accurate details. Additional silk handkerchief (much larger in size) included with an embroidered dragon and signed Pusan, Korea. Several large stains and discoloration on this silk. Handkerchief is approximately 24" x 24" in length.

Three antiquities - Faience Horus falcon figurine. 1-15/16" tall. Base is 1-11/6" x 5/8". 18.2 grams. ***** Luristan bronze dagger blade, mounted on small wood base. Possibly western Persia / Iran. Double sided CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) bus stop sign. Constructed of heavier steel, this sign measures 24 inches by 18 inches. The colors and graphics are still bright and clear. This sign was most likely posted outdoors and does have some scratches and rubs and does show signs of weathering. Also included are three street signs with various street names. These signs are constructed of a heavier metal and measure 17 inches by 6 inches. These signs are single sided and also show signs of use including scratches, rubs, and weathering.

2005 First Gear 1:64 scale die cast replica of a Chicago O'Hare Mack Truck with snow plow. Model number 69-0106, this die cast replica is still in its original box although the box appears to have been opened at one time and does reflect some shelf wear. It appears as if all original paperwork is present.

Metal reliquary - oval in shape (1.5" x 1-3/8"). We have been unable to open the reliquary to view the back. Tag inside reliquary reads: "S. Theresiae a I. In" (the rest of the tag is obscured). We believe this to be St. Therese of Lisieux (also known as Therese of the Infant Jesus and Little Flower of Jesus). Our electronic metal tester registers silver content below 90%.

Zippo, Calibri, Lighters, Handwarmers, More (+30). Grouping of lighters, handwarmers, and other fueled fire starters many of which are unused. Included one Zunder 1000 lighter featuring Garmisch Marktplatz in Bavaria. Also included a Hawthorne pipe that has smoked from and has light chatter. One Calibri lighter engraved "mommy". Bill Shoemaker's Last Race (The Shoe's Last Ride) Autographed Santa Anita Ticket (February 3, 1990) (JSA COA) (JSA Certification: L81848) (2 Tickets Total - Only 1 Signed). One of the greatest horse jockeys in the history of the sport. Shoemaker was responsible for winning 11 Triple Crown races and held the career win record for 29 years. There are a large number of duplicate cards in this box. We did not count the cards but estimate there are at least 1,000 cards to be had here.

We estimate these two boxes contain approximately 1,000 baseball cards. The cards are from a variety of manufacturers. We see cards from the early 1970's through 2019. We also saw a few football cards from the 1970's mixed in. Among the cards you will find a mix of HOF members, stars, semi-stars, and commons. With this many cards there are bound to be some duplicates. Condition varies with the newer cards exhibited faint to no wear and the older cards reflecting edge and corner wear typical for their age. Lots of fun to be had sorting through this collection.

Chipper Jones Autographed Atlanta Braves Photograph. One of the greatest switch-hitters in the history of the game, Chipper Jones was integral to the Braves' success in the 1990s. An 8x All-Star, 2x Silver Slugger, NL MVP, & Batting Champion, he is more than deserving of his spot in the Hall Of Fame. Please see images for details regarding condition.

Frank Thomas Autographed Photographs (2 Signed Photos Total). The Big Hurt was arguably the scariest hitter of the early 1990s. he is the only player in major league history to have 7 consecutive seasons (1991–1997) with at least a .300 batting average, 100 RBIs, 100 runs scored, 100 walks, and 20HR. A 5x All-Star, 4x Silver Slugger, 2x AL MVP, and Batting Champion, his credentials are serious no question about it. It is also worth noting that he did this in an era when Major League Baseball was rife with steroid users. Thomas was not only clean his entire career but also was a staunch advocate for drug testing as early as 1995. Please see images for details regarding condition.

1941 Trophy No. AA AM radio shaped like a baseball. Works (after a short warming up period - these are vacuum tubes). Approximately 9.25" tall. Some wear and staining on surface. Both power and station adjustment knobs are present. Power cord appears to be a replacement, but antenna cord appears original. Front-bottom grating has slight detachment and fraying (see photos).

Box containing primarily basketball cards from the 2020's. There are some slightly older cards also in the box. Looking through the box we see a variety of Panini cards. We also saw some Michael Jordan, Lebron James, and other HOF and super star cards in this box. There are a good number of Panini Concourse Level and Premier Level cards in this box. There is also a box of 100 2009 Playoff Prestige football cards included. This group of cards is missing all rookie cards but does include the Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees cards.

We estimate there are at least 500 basketball cards in this collection. There are two binders of cards. One binder has 13 pages of cards including Star Pics and Upper Deck cards, mostly from the 1990's. A couple of the pages do have an empty spot of two in the page. The second number has 51 pages of basketball cards from the mid-1990's with the majority of cards being from Topps and Classic. In addition to the two binders, there is a box of loose basketball cards from a variety of manufacturers. These cards primarily span from the mid-1990's to the early 2000's although there are a few older cards in the box as well as a few newer ones. Some of the cards will have corner dings and there are certain to be duplicates in this collection. We did see a number of rookie cards as well as cards of HOF members and other stars.

There are two smaller boxes and one larger box of footballs card mainly from 1990 through approximately 1993. We saw a mix of stars and semi-stars with a large number of commons from Pro Set, Upper Deck, and Score. The two smaller boxes also have a small smattering of basketball and baseball cards mixed in. There is also a binder with 30 album pages of 1997 Pinnacle hockey cards. Not all of the album pages are completely filled with cards and we are estimating there are approximately 180 hockey cards in the binder.

Dan Marino Autographed Mitchell & Ness 1984 Throwback Miami Dolphins Jersey (Size XL) (Retail Tags Still Attached) (Beckett Authentication Services COA) (Beckett Certification Number: W612552). This jersey is a Mitchell & Ness throwback for Dan Marino's 1984 MVP season. At the end of his career, Marino held numerous NFL records, and despite never being on a Super Bowl-winning team, he's recognized among the greatest quarterbacks in history. A 9x Pro Bowler, 5x Passing Yards Leader & NFL MVP (1984), the accolades are impressive. At the time of his retirement, Marino held more than 40 NFL passing records (many of which have been surpassed), including career passing attempts (8,358), completions (4,967), passing yards (61,361), and touchdown passes (420). The 1985 Bears are still considered to be one of the best football teams ever. Among the leaders of the team was none other than Sweetness, Walter Payton. Payton had a Hall Of Fame career but would only appear in one Super Bowl, that being Super Bowl XX. Although the Bears would dominate the game Payton would not score a touchdown. Payton used a gold Sharpie to place a beautiful signature on this Super Bowl XX football. The signature is certified by Carson Pirie Scott, a long time Chicago retailer who was a reputable seller of sports memorabilia back in the day. Like most footballs, this ball does lose air but retains its shape and displays well.

Look at what is included here. 1991 Stadium Club football set with the Brett Favre rookie card***1989 Upper Deck baseball card set including the Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card***1988-89 OPC hockey set with the Brett Hull rookie card. All three of these sets are hand collated and have not been checked for completeness. The final card set is a 1989 Score football set that is in an open factory box.

Rev up your engine and take a good look at this binder full of auto racing cards. We counted 60 album pages but every page may not be full of cards. It appears as if these cards span from 1990 through 1993 although there may be some earlier than that and some later than that. We saw cards from Maxx, Collect A Card, Hi-Pro, and Wheels. As best we can tell these are all NASCAR series cards and we saw a bunch of HOF members, stars, and rookie cards. We did not check to see if there are any full sets in this binder. The Prince and The Pauper by Mark Twain Hardcover Book. A story by Mark Twain, first published in 1881 that tells the story of two boys with identical features who decide to swap their vastly different lives: Prince Edward VI, the young prince of Wales, and Tom Canty, a poor pauper. There is scuffing along edges and cloth fraying on the cover. The cover, spine, and first two pages have been ripped from the base of the book. Some stains on the top and bottom of the front cover as well. A few pages of the book seem to have very small rips and stains to the edges, but otherwise the text and illustrations are still readable. "To Helen Virginia from Sarah Jane. Christmas. 1895." written on the inside.

1. Bambi's Children by Felix Salten. A coming-of-age sequel novel that follows Bambi's twin fawns, Geno and Gurri, as they grow into adulthood and navigate life in the forest. 2 different hardcover copies. Both copies have a significant amount of rips, tears, and staining on the covers. The inside of the books are in good condition and the text is still readable. 2. Heidi by Johanna Spyri. A novel that tells the story of a young orphaned girl named Heidi, who is sent to live with her gruff grandfather at the top of a mountain located in the Swiss Alps. Both copies are in relatively good condition with only a bit of edge wear on the covers. The first few pages of the teal/orange copy have fallen out. The text is otherwise still readable.

3 Historical Hardcover Books: 1. The Life of Horace Greeley, Founder of the New York Tribune with Extended Notices of Many of His Contemporary Statesmen and Journalists by L.D. Ingersoll. First few pages are almost torn from the spine and the book cover itself has wear all around (especially the edges), but the text inside doesn't seem to have major damage. 2. The Treasury of the Gun by Harold L. Peterson. There is a tear on the bottom of the book spine, but otherwise has no notable/major damage. 3. The War in the Pacific - Guadalcanal: The First Offensive by John Miller Jr. Has some writing and library stamps on the first few pages. Good condition, no notable/major damage done to the cover or the inside.

Recording Britain Books (Volumes 1-4). A collection of the development of Britain during its monumental transformation in the 1940s. These four matching hardcover books showcase illustrations, photographs, texts documented by 95 of Britain's most prominent artists at the time. Cover places such as London, Middx, Surrey, Berkshire, Bucks, Herts, Beds, and more. Overall seem to be in good condition with no notable damages. The contents inside are still very eligible.

Our New West: Records of Travel Between the Mississippi River and the Pacific Ocean by Samuel Bowles Book. 1870 hardcover copy. The book is about Bowels' journey across North America and West United States during the summer of 1865-1866. Features various maps, portraits, and illustrations. Cover shows some damage and is close to falling apart, but not much damage has been done to the inside of the book. Some small stains on the pages.

Second annual report of the Bureau of Ethnology to the Secretary of Smithsonian Institution. 1880-1881. By J.W. Powell. May be pieces of 3 books rebound: Animal Carvings from Mounds of the Mississippi Valley by Henry W. Henshaw. **** Navajo Silversmiths by Dr. Washington Matthews. **** Art in Shell of the Ancient Americans by William H. Holmes. Collection of texts and non-colored illustrations.

Book, dated from 1814. A self published collection of poetry by John Wharton, Esquire, of Culpeper County, Virginia. American Federal (?) Cover is present but detached. There is some writing on the inside cover - as well as some dirt and staining. Approximately 100 pages.

A Chicago classic. An American classic. An early edition (dated 1949, but lacking a "First Edition" notation). of the Nelson Algren novel "The Man With the Golden Arm". Pages appear stain free. Dust jacket is present, but shows stains and damage. Title page appears to be signed by the author, but there is no COA.

Japanese okimono toad, 3" x 6" x 5", carved from the root of the white cedar tree, stamped 'JAPAN' on base, cracks on back, "Brumfeld N. Carolina 1970" written twice on base and bottom side of mouth. Small bronze statue of a woman undressing. Approximately 8-3/8" tall. 1.9 pounds (880 grams). Base is marked "Cire C. Valsuani Perdue". The initials "CB" are engraved on the base. The Fonderie Valsuani was the site of many bronze castings by notable artists including Brancusi, Rodin, Braque, Dali, Degas, Gauguin, Matisse, Modigliani, Renoir, and Picasso.

From the Franklin Mint, a 1970 (First Annual) Norman Rockwell Christmas Plate rendered in sterling silver. The plate is still sealed in its original shrink wrapping in the collector's box. Based on a different Norman Rockwell plate from the same series, we confidently estimate the weight to be 180 grams. 8" diameter.

1973 Bicentennial Commemorative plate from the Franklin Mint, rendered in sterling silver with 24 karat gold inlay. In original collectors slipcase box with documentation. Plate features Thomas Jefferson and the quote "We hold these truths to be self-evident ...". Plate has a mass of 244 grams. Serial number 1574 on back.

Collection of five tin and die cast toys. Included is a Vintagecast die cast 1927 Ford Model TT New Jersey Bell Telephone Company cherry picker construction truck. There is a platform on the back of the truck that raises upwards but is missing the platform a worker would have stood on to make repairs or install new lines***There is also a Hubley True Scale farm tractor with a disc plow No. 50. The disc plow appears complete and exhibits some paint loss and scratching consistent with normal play. The tractor does have significant paint loss as well as some damage. Notable damage includes a missing front grill, missing steering wheel, and a missing end cap on a rear wheel causing the wheels to wobble when rolled. This may be a candidate for parts or restoration.***The next piece in this collection is a Big Bang Carbide Canon in need of repair. This canon is missing its barrel as well as a portion off the top of the canon near the firing end. Both the canon trailer and wheels exhibit wear and paint loss consistent with normal play.***Next is a battery operate tin locomotive. This locomotive has a clean battery compartment but has not been tested. The locomotive is approximately 13-1/2 inches long and was made in Japan. There is some scratching and paint loss on the surface as well as some light oxidation.***The final piece of this collection is a Radio Flyer Little Red Wagon Grizz, a soft-bodied plush animal. This piece is new and in its original, unopened packaging.
