Roy Thomas rings a bell of brilliance with the fantastic framework for this series, and here’s easily three of the most important issues from the series put together in one treasure trio — DC’s Infinity Inc. volume 1 issue number 1 the beginning of the series and the Generations Saga from March of 1984, then issue 14 from May of 1985 — the first ever published Todd McFarlane cover work in comics, then finally issue 16 from July of the same year, the first appearance of Mr.Bones in the Mr. Bones saga. All three issues are gem, terrific in condition with no major or even minor blemishes, very neat, sharp, smooth and clean.

It all begins here with "In Search Of A Dream" and what a dream it is, thanks to Jack The King Kirby and his passion projects, DC’s The Forever People volume 1 issue number 1 from March of 1971, the first appearance of The Infinity Man, the first ever appearance and use of a Mother Box, and of course the first appearance of the titular heroes The Forever People with this tremendous gem. Outstanding off-white inner pages that are even, sharp and concise, one minor print mark to the top right of intro page, a slight bit of print rubbing to the white and sharp back cover, excellent cover with a minimal amount of edge wear to the bottom left and center of spine.

The first appearance of the Goliath saw swinging Gladiator in the tremendous early DD sampling — Marvel Daredevil volume 1 issue number 18 from July of 1966, "There Shall Come A Gladiator" Melvin Potter would go on to torture Matt Murdock, Peter Parker and plenty more but he began his reign of terror in this Denny O’Neil / John Romita delight. Some edge wear to the top of cover and tip top of back cover, some browning to right side of cover and lesser to the inner pages, a chip to the bottom right corner and one chip crimping to the top left corner of cover, slight creasing to spine, browning to frontispiece and perimeter of back cover, mostly even and good edges and corners to inners.

It doesn’t get much more red white and beautiful than this, "When Wakes The Sleeper" sees Steve in his Syd Shores/Jack Kirby/Stan Lee excellence — sent on a mission by Nick Fury of the utmost importance, he finds at his destination the Red Skull and an even deadlier plot, the first appearance of said Sleeper Mark IV and Werner Von Krimm — Marvels Captain America volume 1 issue number 101 from May of 1968, the second issue to the series after it was revived from the Cold War. Inner pages are just wonderful, white, even and excellent everywhere, backing is also sharp and clean with only a brief ink marking to the top center edge, a dazzling and delightful cover with only the briefest spot of wear to the bottom of spine, sticker labeled a VF and it’s definitely hovering around that astonishing area.

"The Tentacles and The Trap" sees John Romita and Stan Lee bring new life to Spidey’s arch nemesis Doc Ock with a wonderful and instantly recognizable cover and stunner inner story as Aunt May rents out a room to the treacherous titan: Marvels Amazing Spider-Man volume 1 issue number 54 from November of 1967. Some moderate creases and tiny surface dings to the perimeter and spine of cover, mostly so to the right corners and spine, one faint faded crease down center of cover, small circular stain to frontispiece and intro page, mostly great and concise off-white inners, backing has some brief browning and print rubbing to edges, a few minimal stain marks to spine.

"Less Than Monster, More Than Man" and “The Sub-Mariner Strikes” are the two tremendous takes to this Hulk/Namor sampling: Marvels Tales To Astonish volume 1 issue number 83 from September of 1966, the first appearances of Number One and a few other cloaked baddies from the Secret Society via Jack Kirby, Dick Ayers, Bill Everett and Stan Lee. A wonderful copy this one is for sure, one marker marking to the top of intro page and a faint faded crease to the top right corner of it, but all else for the inners is awesome, sharp corners, evenness and concise throughout them, a super brief bit of browning to frontispiece and backing but they remain very nice as well, fabulous with a super minor crease to the top right and brief slight wear to left corner edges.

The death of Mogul and Forsung in "Abandoned On Earth" and "Tales Of Asgard: The End,? the final installment of the Tales of Asgard saga for a long long while, Marvels Thor volume 1 issue number 145 from October of 1967, and we’d be remiss not to mention the legendary Kirby/Colletta cover. Speaking of cover, it remains Very Good with some creasing to the top above title, the spine and bottom right corner, mostly spectacular sharp and concise inner pages while backing has some minor print rubbing and browning to its perimeter and a minor surface scuff to the top right corner, browning to the frontispiece.

The double splash place to the centerfold is truly stuff of spectacular Steranko legend, Colonel Fury fights in in this phenomenal third in the series and proper example of what made Steranko’s work so stunning — Marvels Nick Fury Agent Of Shield volume 1 issue number 3 from August of 1968, "Dark Moon Rise, Hell Hound Kill." Numerous first appearances and no Shield weaponry used in this unusual epic. Some slight chipping to the top edge of back cover and some slight browning to the perimeter edges, delightful and mostly nice inners, excellent cover with a faint bit of creasing to spine and a tiny chip to bottom right corner tip.

The rumors are true, yes, this cover is iconic and memorable any way you thwip at it — Marvels The Amazing Spider-Man volume 1 issue number 252 May of 1984, "Homecoming," the first time in ASM Peter is shown in this Symbiote cover costume, one of three comics released May 1984 that have equal claim as the first appearance of Spider-Man's black costume the other two are Marvel Team-Up 141 and Spectacular Spider-Man 90. This is a superb and spectacular copy, clean, sharp and sensational.

"The Old Order Changeth" and then some with this stupendous and important part of early A team lore — the assembling changes with Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Quicksilver joining the Avengers, while Thor, Iron Man, Giant-Man, and Wasp take a leave of absence in this epic — Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 16 from May of 1965, Dick Ayers, Jack Kirby, Stan Lee and a stunner iconic cover from legend Don Heck. Cover has some minor to moderate wear and creasing to the perimeter and spine, mostly even concise and sharp inners however there is a ding scuff to the bottom staple to the first few inner pages, a super tiny stain to pages 18 and 19, wear to the bottom staple of back cover and some browning to perimeter of it.

Worth the price of admission alone for the iconic and often used splash page of Doom on page 5, this epic is undeniable in FF history: "The Name Is Doom!" Marvels Fantastic Four volume 1 issue number 84 from March of 1969, the first appearance of Doom’s Servo-Guards as Invisible Woman is on maternity leave while the chaos is knee deep. Dazzling and beautiful back cover, equally excellent sharp and concise off- white inner pages, cover is terrific with only some minor wear to the top and bottom of the spine, a very very delightful copy indeed.

McFarlane begins his Peter Parker brilliance with this legendary gem, the beginning of "Torment" with Marvels Spider-Man volume 1 issue number 1 from august of 1990, this is the black cover variant of McFarlane’s legend of the Arachknight. A remarkable cover condition, a spectacular inner page condition, the only faint and super minor blemish to this beauty is a very minor surface scuff to the inner flap of back cover, everything else is excellent, a Very Fine Spidey morsel for sure, it comes with a taut and clean acetate bagging.

Wow this is an amazing copy of this mutant gem, but more on that later. "And None Shall Survive" shows Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers with this remarkable and unforgettable rouge cover: Marvels X-men volume 1 issue number 17 from February of 1966, the first appearances of Worthington’s parents and Dr. John Thomas — in the aftermath of their battle with the Sentinels, Hank, Bobby and Scott are taken to the hospital with injuries and Iceman is delirious in a coma but his companions recover quickly but when Warren's parents call and say they are dropping by for a visit, Angel flies back to the mansion where he is attacked by a mysterious stranger. Xavier and Cyclops, worried with no word from Angel, also return home and are attacked but Beast and Jean are the last to show up and are also taken down, as Warren's parents arrive at the mansion, they are greeted by Magneto in this insanely iconic final splash page image, plus the splash page 6 of Angel, it’s astounding stuff. Now, condition wise, cover has some minor creasing to the spine and very brief edge wear to the top, sharp corners, inner pages are white and wonderful, one bent corner tip for page 12, backing is sharp and clean, a really nice copy indeed.

Domino, Sunspot, Shatterstar, Cable, Feral and the rest of Rob Liefeld’s rag tag team of deadly entities begins with this Deadpool featured epic — Marvels X-Force volume 1 issue number 1 from August of 1991, Cable first reveals his telekinetic powers in this issue, centered around the time traveling shooter this story is, also the first appearance of George Bridge. This is issue does not include the trading card or the commemorative bagging. A single faint crease vertically to the cover, a few super tiny dot dings to cover and backing in one or two spots, and that’s about it in the way of blemishes, excellent inners and sharp everything everywhere else.

You just can’t say enough about Jack Kirby’s art for this stupendous Cap series or even enough about Frank Giacoia’s inks as they add so much depth and delight, "Cap Goes Wild" in this gem, Marvels Captain America volume 1 issue number 106 from October of 1968, the first appearances and deaths of Cyril and Willie Lucas, The Reds steal the plans to create Life Model Decoys and use them to make a replica of Captain America, but when the plan to win a propaganda victory reaches its peak, will Cap or the LMD remain standing? Only the reader knows. Sticker labeled a VF+, and Incan concur it is a beauty, a spectacular cover with wonderful edges and corners, delightful and concise inners, outstanding backing with a brief rubbing mark to the bottom of spine.

The man of steel and the caped crusader tag team terror in this treasure — DC’s World’s Finest Comics volume 1 issue number 175 from May of 1968, and what makes this issue so important? It’s the first ever Neal Adams interior art for a Batman book, plus the first appearance of Flamethrower, The Batman Revenge Squad and more. A wondrous and beautiful white back cover, white and sharp inner pages that dazzle, and an astonishing cover condition, only a super faint faded ding or two near center of the spine, this is a bonafide beauty, easily a VF/NM in my honest opinion.

The first appearance of Patricia Trish Starr as the evil Egghead messes with Hank Pym in this early epic from Mike Friedrich and Herb Trimpe, "Fear Is The Way He Dies," Marvel Feature volume 1 issue number 5 from September of 1972, The Astonishing Ant-Man astounds here. Blemish free and beautiful inner pages that stun, a spectacular white and sharp back cover and cover is astounding as well with only some super faint waving the very edge of bottom right corner area and one tiny dated stamping around title.

The death of Ultron-6 in "And We Battle For The Earth," Sal Buscema and Roy Thomas bringing the fireworks as Yellowjacket, Goliath, Black Panther and the rest of the crew pounce with the first appearance of Taku the Wakandan — Marvels Avengers volume 1 issue number 68 from September of 1969. Mostly very great inner pages, off-white and concise, back cover has a few dings and some minor print rubbing to the perimeter and a chipped corner tip to bottom left corner, cover remains excellent with very faint wear to the spine and super brief browning.

Reintroducing a remarkable blood-thirsty cosmic avenger from comic history past, Carmine Infantino and Bill Dubay bring the fireworks for this new beginning, Red Circle Comics The Comet volume 1 issue number 1 from October of 1983, the origin of Comet and a Hangman backstory as well. Concise super sharp and white inner pages that are just lovely, back cover is blemish free, and cover remains beautiful and without a blemish as well, a superb copy of this book indeed.

Easily two of the most important spider morsels to this series but together in one pairing, the first meeting of Spider-Man and Spider-Woman in "Tangled Webs" then a super cool appearance of Werewolf By Night with Frankenstein’s Monster, The Phantom Of The Opera, Dracula, Wolfman and Hunchback Of Notre Dame with these spectacular Frank Miller/Frank Spinger Jessica Drew covers — Marvels Spider-Woman volume 1 issues 20 and 32 from November of 1979 and 1980. Both are excellent and delightful copies with little damage or blemishes whatsoever, just wonderful pages and covers.

As far as Jimmy Olsen issues go, you can’t argue with this one being one of the most important; the beginning of Jack The King Kirby’s era for DC begins with this Key issue, the first appearance of Morgan Edge with a wonderful Al Plastino cover for the Kirby/Colletta Supes spectacle, "Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen Brings Back The Newsboy Legion," DC’s Superman’s Ex-Pal Jimmy Olsen volume 1 issue number 133 from October of 1970. Even concise white inner pages with an seldom ding to a bottom, a minor bit of print rubbing to the spine of back cover but its white and sharp elsewhere, cover is sensational with the faintest faded wear near the staples, a delightful copy.

After the beginning series by Dell, this Gold Key miniseries was the second volume for the titular space hero and why break up a magnificent thing? This is all three issues to the miniseries, Gold Key’s John Carter Of Mars issues 1, 2 and 3 spanning April to October of 1964, some awesome Jesse Marsh artwork and pin-up style wraparound covers that dazzle. These are three terrific condition books, issue number 1 has some super slight dent dings to the cover, but tremendous edges and corners, great white inner pages mostly, issue 1 does have a faded reoccurring crease dent, awesome back covers.

Four fantastic examples of one of the oldest jungle heroes ever created for the pages, here with two Gold Key samplings and two terrific DC examples — Gold Key Tarzan Of The Apes number 155 from December of 1965 and issue 200 from June of 1971 both with the wraparound pinup style cover backings, then DC’s Tarzan issue 207 and 219 from April of 1972 and 1973, the former the first Tarzan issue for DC, the latter the first presentation of Edgar Rice Burroughs "Trial By Treachery" adaptation. Whew, that’s a lot of vine swinging wonderful. Only the briefest bit of wear to bottoms of spine and super slight browning for the Gold Key issues, the DC pair are proper clean and sharp, all together these are four fantastic copies.

The second appearance of the three titans consisting of Hulk, Sub-Mariner and Dr.Strange in "Nightmare On Bald Mountain" and “The Hidden World,” Marvel Feature volume 1 issue number 2 from March of 1972, the Dreaded Dormammu as the fiery fierce end of the squad, another awesome epic from John Romita, John Buscema and Frank Giacoia. A fantastic cover with some slight wear to the spine edge and top left corner edge, one tiny ding below Sub-Mariner image, marvelous sharp and concise inner pages mostly but the last few pages have a reoccurring dent ding from the back cover that is white and sharp besides that.

I mean does it get any more magnificent and marvelous for a Teen Titan lot than this? Not hardly. So, here slams DC’s The New Teen Titans volume 1 issues number 1 and 2 from November and December of 1980, then The New Teen Titans Annual number 1 and 2 from 1982 and 1983, then The New Teen Titans Annual volume 2 issue 1 from 1985. Every issue is including a bunch of major first appearances here, most importantly: issue 2 features the first appearance of Deathstroke The Terminator and HIVE, issue 1 is the first appearance of Ravager, and second appearances Raven, Cyborg, Starfire and second appearance and partial origin of the team, Annual number 1 is the third appearance and origin of X’Hal, Annual 2 the first appearance of Adrian Chase as Vigilante, Cheshire and more, plus the first appearance of Vanguard, and there’s tons more. Thank you, George Perez! All five of these fantastic fables are Fine, sharp, clean, neat and concise, issue 1 has a minor nubbing to bottom right corner tip and slight brief crease ding to center of cover, excellent pretty much everywhere else here, a lovely lovely lot.

Let the tremendous games of glorious stature and importance begin as Kang The Conqueror and The Uncanny Growing Man team up against the world’s greatest heroes — Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 69 from October of 1969, the first appearance of The Squadron Sinister, Nighthawk, Whizzer, Doctor Spectrum, Hyperion, and Grandmaster in this fabulous Sal Buscema / Roy Thomas treasure. Cover has some minimal print rubbing and wear to the spine faintly slightly more to the top edge, inner pages are mostly astonishing (especially the double splash page to page 18) with one tiny pencil marking to top of intro page, super slight faded ding to final page, white frontispiece, some minor scattered and faded staining and print rubbing to perimeter of back cover.

A true knockdown drag out battle between the two beasts of Marvel lore as The Leader looks on with an evil smirk, "Cry Monster," Marvel Feature Volume 1 issue 11 from September of 1973 The Thing and Hulk here, the first solo The Thing story as he replaces Ant-Man here, the next issue the final of the series and Ben Grimm would become star of his own solo series with Two-In-One. Some faint faded dings to the perimeter edges of white and sharp back cover, mostly great and even inner pages with great corners, main cover would be almost blemish free if it weren’t for some bunched creasing to the top right corner and top edge.

Three terrific Curt Swan / Murphy Anderson tales in one Supes Kryptonite gem here, DC’s Superman volume 1 issue number 246 from December of 1971, "Danger, Monster At Work," the first appearance of STAR Labs and Clark Kent’s neighbors on 344 Clinton Street. The briefest bit of chipping to the bottom right corner edge and slight nubbing to the top corner of spine, a few tiny chipped corner tips to bottom and some slight browning to inners, backing has some minor scattered rubbing and wear to perimeter.

Dispatching robot Justice and dealing out cyborg chaos is the mighty Magnus here in this four issue lot, Gold Key Magnus Robot Fighter volume 1 numbers 15, 16, 17, and 18 from August of 1966 to May of 1967, awesome Russ Manning alien imagery and of course the radical pin-up backings by Vic Prezio. Some creasing to the spine on cover for issue 16, lesser so to 15 and 18, mostly nice and sharp edges and corners, slight waving to the bottom right corner of backing on issue 15, tiny pen marking to the top right corner of backing on issue 16, usually great inners.

What could be braver and bolder than three continuous Bruce Wayne features to this series? Not much, as he’s joined by The Metal Men, The Spectre and Plastic Man in these three tremendous yarns: DC’s The Brave And The Bold volume 1 issues 74, 75 and 76 from November, January and March of 1967 into 1968, Ross Andru and Mike Esposito art but what’s especially excellent with this lot is issue 75 is the first ever Neal Adams Batman cover artwork and the first appearance of Shahn-Zi. White and mostly sharp backings issue 75 has some super faint foxing to its backing and slight print rubbing to the back of 74, typically great and concise even inner pages, minimal at all creasing to spines on covers and faint edge wear to bottom right corner of issue 76, very good copies.

The treacherous first appearance of Gustav Hauptmann and the Invincible Robots as Latveria’s King looms with a heavy iron fist, Marvels Fantastic Four volume 1 issue number 85 from April of 1969, and you can’t do better for FF than with Kirby/Sinnott/Simek/Lee, "Within This Tortured Land" and tremendous doesn’t efficiently describe the Doom splash for page 5. A few circle stains to the bottom of page 3 while the rest of the inners are concise and nice with good edges and corners, white sharp back cover has some faded faint dent dings to the perimeter, minor edge wear to the perimeter of cover and some slight creases to its spine, brief print rubbing.

The Kirby Red Skull splash for page 7 is stupendous as well as the fact that he and Steranko both worked on this book (if only for his Fury part on page 11), Marvels Captain America volume 1 issue number 104 from August of 1968. "Slave Of The Skull" The Red Skull plants an H-Bomb in D.C. and forces Captain America to return to Exile Island and the Chiefs of Staff are given the opportunity to toy with the American before the Red Skull exterminates the Star Spangled Avenger, or so Lee would have you believe, the first appearance of the Exiles in this gem. Some waving to the back cover and slight chipping to its top edge tip, mostly clean and sharp cornered off-white inner pages, a nice cover but with some minor browning to the perimeter edge and what seems to be some red pen tracing to Cap and some lines on it which bleeds into the frontispiece.

A twenty page spectacular as the A team is unable to revive the fallen Goliath or so it would seem at first in this fantastic Don Heck/Frank Giacoia gem "This Power Unleashed," Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 29 from June of 1966, the first appearances of Doctor Yen, Major Gordon Carlson and Hu Chen as The Swordsman slices sharply and Powerman pounces powerfully. Great corners and even concise edges for these inner pages, the back cover has some ink dotting, browning to perimeter very faint chipping to the bottom edge, minor creasing to the spine on cover top right corner and lesser to the bottom edge and bottom right corner.

Let’s attack with Cap as the first appearance of Doctor Faustus and his evil apprentice Ferret happens here, probably my personal favorite cover from the original Silver Age run of this series from Kirby and Giacoia but all if not a dream with Marvels Captain America volume 1 issue number 107 from November of 1968, "If The Past Be Not Dead," Cap begins having recurring nightmares and seeks help from Faustus, who has his own terror agenda. A very nice copy, back cover has some brief browning to perimeter edges, inner pages are almost entirely clean even and sharp but there is the faintest bit of chipping to the bottom corners of page 7 and 8, wonderful cover with a tiny bit of faint creasing to spine.

Marvel’s man without fear against the feathery clutches of the Owl in this outstanding Gene Colan gem "The Trap Is Sprung," Marvels Daredevil volume 1 issue number 21 from October of 1966, one wonders what could be hotter than a blind battle amidst a volcano. Cover has some edge wear to the top and spine, small chip to bottom left corner, some browning and foxing to frontispiece, mostly good inner page edges but bottom staple is loose, back cover has some browning and a few speckled brown stains.

So much vivid imagery nothing short of Wandavision with this terrific miniseries beginning, Marvels The Vision And The Scarlet Witch volume 1 issue number 1 from November of 1982, "Trick Or Treat" sees the first spooky appearances of Goblin, Samhain, and Jack-O-Lantern amidst a ton of flashbacks with the X-men and several other spectacular entities. A spectacular copy, white inner pages that are even and concise, sharp clean back cover, a superb cover condition with wonderful edges and corners.

The Collector here in his first appearance and The Beetle lurk with evil traps abound in this first appearance of Hank Pym as the giant Goliath, Marvels Avengers volume 1 issue number 28 from May of 1966, "Among Us Walks A Goliath" as The Wasp officially joins the crew as she was rescued, lovely legendary stuff from Kirby and Heck. Some browning to perimeter of back cover but nice edges to it, inner pages are even and concise but some dings to bottoms here and there, cover has some brief browning to perimeter edge and some slight creasing to the corner box.

Some awesome splash pages and cool features depicting Fury and The Howlers with also some great battle scenes and aerial views, Marvels Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos King-Size Annual issue 1 from 1965, Dick Ayers, Jack Kirby and George Bell providing the exciting explosions with this important book. Some staining waving and wear to the perimeter of back cover, even inner pages but there is a faded reoccurring stain for the first few pages and also the first few bottom corner tips are bent, good otherwise, cover has definite creasing to the spine and own to the center vertically, slight wear to the top edge as well.

Everything from early Romita/Lee Spidey to early Kirby FF to cartoon King Kong and beyond, American Broadcasting Company’s America’s Best TV Comics one-shot from 1967 including the incredible first appearance of George Of The Jungle in comics plus early Casper as well with this wonder. A sharp and white back cover depicting a sensational Sally Field as the Flying Nun, mostly marvelous inner pages, white even and concise, very clean, white and sharp cover with very little blemishes at all.

Everyone’s favorite star of the silver screen here in a super early spectacular — National Comics Publication’s Adventures Of Bob Hope volume 1 issue number 14 from April of 1952, amazing inner cartoon imagery from legends such as Henry Boltinoff, Win Mortimer, Bob Oksner and several others. A few small rips and a rip scuff to the top center of back cover, mostly good inner pages that are even, a page or two have a chipped tip, some wear around the staples, browning to the frontispiece, slight creasing to the spine and top and right edges.

What a gem not only in importance but in condition as well, wonderful. "The Fury Of The Freak" and "15 Minutes To Live? are the two treasures to this first appearance of Peggy Carter, first appearance of Agent 13, and also first appearance of Batroc The Leaper, as Gene Colan, Jack Kirby, Dick Ayers and others provide riveting and legendary imagery — Marvels Tales Of Suspense volume 1 issue number 75 from March of 1966, plus the first appearance of THEM who would later of course be retconned to be AIM. Now, condition wise this book is a beauty, sharp white and clean cover, close to spotless, even concise and sharp inner pages almost entirely with a few seldom dings and there is one super faint reoccurring crease bend to the last few pages albeit briefly, white and sharp back cover with that same bend crease tot he bottom corner, a tremendous copy indeed.

Got a…strange magic, with this special sorcerer supreme sampling alongside Fury and Shield of course — Marvels Strange Tales volume 1 issue number 148 from September of 1966, "The Origin Of The Ancient One" and “Death Before Dishonor,” Kaluu and Dum-Dum Dugan in one outstanding book together. Some browning to the back cover and faint wear to the top edge of it, some wear around both staples, mostly even and great inners, a bottom corner chipped tip to cover and some scattered creasing to spine and perimeter.

John Buscema and Chic Stone providing legendary and lovely imagery throughout this gem — the first appearance and origin of Jennifer Waters aka the titular green skinned giantess plus the origin retold of Bruce Banner "The She-Hulk Lives," Marvels The Savage She-Hulk volume 1 issue number 1 from February of 1980. A very very nice copy of this landmark, cover has some super brief browning to the right edge but is totally fabulous otherwise, a white sharp back cover with only one minor crease dent to the bottom left edge, excellent inner pages.

"And Fear Shall Follow" sees Mar-Vell scouring the spaceways with first appearance aplenty such as Cyberex, Chief Tech, Aakon, Mort, Number One, Ooru, Supreme Sir and others with this Arnold Drake/Don Heck delight: Marvels Captain Marvel volume 1 issue number 8 from December of 1969. A rip crease bend to the bottom of back cover and some slight browning, similar browning within to inners but even concise edging to them mostly, a great cover with some minor print rubbing to perimeter and brief creasing.

Such a now iconic image for this spectacular cover piece via The King Kirby, as Don Heck and Gene Colan assist with the dazzles inside to Marvels Tales Of Suspense volume 1 issue number 80 from August of 1966, the second ever appearance of The Cosmic Cube and first cover appearance of it aka the Tesseract in "When Fall The Mighty" and "He Who Holds The Cosmic Cube!? A chip to the bottom, slight browning and edge wear to the back cover, mostly great inner pages however a few pages near the centerfold have a chipped bottom corner tip, some slight browning to frontispiece, some surface wear and creasing to the spine and bottom edge.

"The Light That Failed" sees a spectacular second appearance of The Living Laser and Lucy Barton plus the first appearance of Ultrana in this Goliath centered story from Roy Thomas and Don Heck, Marvels The Avengers volume 1 issue number 35 from December of 1966, what might possibly be most awesome about this gem is it features a letter from a youngster named Dave Cockrum who’d obviously go on to become a legendary name in comics. A bent bottom corner tip to the back cover, first page and last page, some scattered wear and browning to backing as well, some wear around the staples and spine on cover, good inners otherwise, a chip near the corner box and creasing wear to the perimeter of cover.

Marvels crimson man without fear has frights at many steps with this fantastic early Owl feature but most importantly the very first DD work from legend Gene Colan to this series starts with this gem — Marvels Daredevil volume 1 issue number 20 from September of 1966, "The Verdict Is Death" and what a wonderful cover from fellow legend John Romita, the splash for page 17 is a DD dazzler. Said cover has a chip to the top of spine and bottom right corner, some browning and slight creasing to its perimeter, some brief hard to notice chipping wear to the center of spine, mostly good inner pages, browning and minor wear to the perimeter of backing.

"Lo, There Shall Be An Ending," but the ending is the beginning of brilliance for this first Marvel family as Sandman, Trapster and The Wizard aren’t far from the FF and The Inhumans with this spectacle via the tried and true treasured team of Kirby/Lee/Colletta, Marvels Fantastic Four volume 1 issue number 43 from October of 1965, the second appearance of Seargant Donnegan. A fantastic copy indeed, a superb cover with great surface and edges, only some super brief wear moments to the center of spine and bottom right corner, sharp and even inner pages with a brief bit of browning and the backing is similar to that.

As if battling the dreaded Dormammu wasn’t difficult and insane enough, Strange has to tussle with the near omnipotent Eternity as shown stupendously on page 5 and 6 of his stellar segment, this gem also including the first appearance of A.I.M. and Count Bornag Royale, "When The Unliving Strike" and “The End — At Last,” Marvels Strange Tales volume 1 issue number 146 from July of 1966. A few minor dent dings to the top and spine on back cover with also some faint wear to the top edge of it, the spine itself has some wear and creasing shown on cover, one diagonal crease to the center top of cover as well with some minor other edge wear, mostly good inner pages.

Glorious and gorgeous, a great grab goes here — not one but six consecutive Neal Adams covered Green gems to behold, DC’s Green Lantern volume 2 issues 79 through 84 spanning September of 1970 to July of 1971, Hal Jordan’s identity revealed to Carol in issue 83, the first appearances of The Harpies and The Witch Queen sister of Sinestro in the issue 82 epic, The Master Mechanic, plus a few brief dazzles from legends Bernie Wrightson and Dick Giordano with this crazy good bunch that of course was during the period Lantern and Arrow had teamed together. Condition wise, these issues range from VG+ to Fine- mostly, varying here and there, but mostly very sharp and nice covers with the biggest blemish being a detatched centerfold to issue 83, issue 82 has a crease down the center but faintly, faded faint pencil marking to the corner box of issue 79 but besides that, mostly good and concise inner pages, typically white and sharp back covers with some minor print rubbing.

Now for something different yet dark and delightful, the bloodlust of Dracula rises again with this tremendous poster representation of Sanjulian’s stupendous cover for Eerie Magazine issue 46, poster measures about 20 x 28 inches and comes with a triangular poster tube. Mostly good corners and edges on this beauty but some bunched creasing to the top right corner edge, a single small tear to the center of sides, one minor ding to center of bottom, a few tiny surface dings, card set cases not included.

360 Pages of profound Starlin space spectacle with this giant and gorgeous hardcover, Marvels Warlock by Jim Starlin Gallery Edition from 2021, first printing, this terrific and outstanding oversized (it measures 13 x 9, roughly) hardcover collects Strange Tales 178-181, Warlock 9-15, Avengers Annual 7, and the Marvel Two-In-One Annual 2. Still shrink wrapped and basically new, no perforations to the plastic wrapping, clean and sharp.

Some extraordinary Esteban Maroto artwork with this scarce stunner, sink your teeth into Warren Publishing’s Dracula Book One by Esteban Maroto, Enric Sio and other legends, 120 pages and first printed in Spain 1972. Some minimal edge wear to the top right corner of cover and the spine has some creasing, a few minor surface creases to the back cover and spine, the inner pages are very pretty and sharp and even, clean as well except for a slight horizon of yellowing near the cover meeting to the intro page.

Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin combine forces for this fierce phenomenonal hardcover, the former an artist well established with work for Tank Girl and rock jam band The Gorillaz, this is 112 pages full 12 inch tall Action Alley 21st Century Tank Girl Kickstarter Exclusive, typically this edition comes with a sheet autographed to its backing, however this doesn’t seem to have that sheet to its back. Perhaps it’s contained within the book, but it’s uncertain, as it is still shrink wrapped with no rips, holes or perforations to its plastic. Book itself is like-new of course.

Besides his brilliant legend-establishing work with Batman, Tim Sale treasured many a fan with superb examples of his art and here’s two stunner samplings together; Tim Sale Pin-Ups from Active Images 2006 sketchbook with ridiculously great art and details about each (especially impressive is the Golden Age Green Lantern sketch that his one and only attempt at the character), then Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s acclaimed Hulk Gray hardcover from Marvel, still shrink wrapped. The Pin-Ups is beautiful and pretty much blemish free, the Hulk Gray is like-new but there is a few small punctures to its plastic to top and corner.

Two proper and pristine still plastic wrapped hardcovers collecting legendary work from two of comic history’s greats — Marvel Visionaries Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, about 336 pages per each book and released in 2005. Like-new, as mentioned, shrink wrapped and no perforations to plastic.

About as red white and beautiful as it gets for the sentinel of liberty, Marvel Diamond and Vanguard Productions’ Spirit Of America Steranko poster lithograph from 2002. Heralded for his spectacular patriotic covers and action panoramas, Jim Steranko delivers the definitive image of the classic patriotic hero in The Spirit of America, a breathtaking vision celebrating the legend of comics' fighting Cap. A superb 18" x 24" limited edition print reproduced on high-quality 100-pound archival matte paper stock, this particular poster is not signed or numbered as they typically were, it was however stored in a tube for most of its existence and is so taut it’s hard to straighten (card set cases are not included, only for picturing), but the edges and corners are sharp as a tack, very clean, like-new, includes a poster tube.

Rare and remarkable, this portfolio is a virtual who's who of comic book artists from the early 1970's. The A.C.B.A. stood for the Academy of Comic Book Artists. Included in this 34 plate portfolio is Jim Starlin, Howard Chaykin, Neal Adams, Sergio Aragones, Frank Frazetta, Sal Buscema, Gray Morrow, Jim Steranko, Reed Crandall, Stan Goldberg, John Romita, Syd Shores, Dave Cockrum, Frank Brunner, Gene Colan, Mike Royer, and more! Issued in a blue portfolio that opens on the right side, the prints are in very nice condition Very Rare, and published by Heritage in 1973. All prints are like-new, sharp and clean except for the Buscema has a brief bit of foxing to the right edge, back flap of the actual portfolio has a slight warping to top, excellent otherwise.

Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia have almost never looked so bold and dashing as they do here thanks the painted cover artwork from the Hildebrandt brothers — Dark Horse’s Star Wars A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return Of The Jedi graphic adaptations via Bruce Jones, Archie Goodwin, Eduardo Barretto and Al Williamson, all first editions from 1997. All three TPBs are in super sharp shape, only some possible minor waving to a cover area or two, perhaps a faint bit of nubbing to a corner or two but all are clean and sharp.

The spectacular sea spectacle covers typical of this series and Howard Purcell accompanied with the inner aquatic awesomeness of Henry Boltinoff and Jack Schiff made this title a fun one for DC, Sea Devils volume 1 issue number 29 from June of 1966, "Captives Of The Golden Goddess." A brown shading mark line to the opening edge of back cover and a print stain scuff to the top right corner of it, some slight browning to inner pages and a few dings to bottoms, cover remains very nice with some faint print rubbing to the spine and a small area of minor wear to the right center edge.

What a landmark spectacular for the series "The Man With The Comet Head," you’re getting gorgeous Carmine Infantino and George Roussos cover art with four fables contained inside plus the first appearance of Enchantress June Moone, DC’s Strange Adventures volume 1 the 200th issue from May of 1967. Nice sharp and even inner pages mostly, back cover has some print rubbing to perimeter but good edges, cover remains nice with brief creasing to the spine and bottom right area.

Both important and fantastic parts to the first ever Spidey x DD crossover here with the first landmark part also including the first appearance of The Masked Marauder and most importantly the first ever John Romita artwork for Spider-Man, iconic imagery plus the first appearance of Dave from the Daily Bugle in the second half — Marvels Daredevil volume 1 issues 16 and 17 from May and June of 1966, "Enter Spider-Man" and “None Are So Blind.” Issue 16 unfortunately has seen better days condition wise, the spine has split and the cover and backing are loose and detached, there is chipping around their edges as well, browning to inner pages but good corners and edges to them, issue 17 is intact but remains with creasing to the spine and perimeter wear, plus one hole to the corner box, similarly even concise inner pages with minor browning, but backing has some browning as well and a few minor tears to bottom.

The first appearance of Shatterstar, the first appearance of Feral, the first appearance of Warpath in the Sunspot team quit spectacle and then the landmark first appearance of X-Force plus the identity of Styfe revealed in these two Rob Liefeld gems — Marvel The New Mutants volume 1 issues 99 and 100 from March and April of 1991, as Domino, Cable and crew deal with X-men tension of past. These are two very sharp and superb copies, clean covers wonderful corners and delightful backings and inners.

"The Final Sleep," but say it ain’t so Cap; Steve Rogers attempting all he can to thwart a second sleeper robot (third appearance) from becoming three amidst NATO and the evil existence of Red Skull, then Tony is duped and eventually ends on the wrong side of The Freak, "If This Guilt Be Mine," Marvels Tales Of Suspense volume 1 issue number 74 from February of 1966, Colan and Kirby equals excellence. Some browning and wear to the spine and top edge of back cover, nice and concise inner pages here, some browning to the frontispiece, cover has some creasing and chipping to the spine and bottom edge.

A comedic blast from the past mixes with the two titans of the DC universe in this caper filled tongue-in-heroic-cheek pairing: DC’s The Adventures Of Jerry Lewis volume 1 issues 97 and 105 from December of 1966 and April of 1967, Arnold Drake crafted the delightful stories for Superman and Batman’s comedy crossover here but legend Neal Adams brought magic to the Supes issue. Both of these gems have delightful covers, only minimal wear to the bottom left edge of the Batman issue, minor faded date stamping above title of Bat issue, but outstanding inner pages that are clean straight edged sharp cornered and nice, white back covers, these are very very delightful copies.

Don Heck, George Tuska, Wally Wood, Joe Sinnott, I mean what a legendary artist lineup for this gem, "What Price Victory?" Marvels Tales Of Suspense volume 1 issue number 71 from November of 1965, the death of Celia Rawlings and Major Uberhart in the Cap and Bucky segment, meanwhile Tony has his iron hands full with the Titanium Man amidst the first appearance of Doctor Schiller. A dazzling back cover with only the faintest tinge of yellowing to the center area, inner pages are a pleasure and proper even, clean and sharp edged (take a look), cover remains beautiful, hardly a minor crease to the edging, what a great copy.

A blitzkrieg, a Berlin breakout and brothers and enemies combined in this trilogy sampling of Fury and the Howlers — Marvels Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos volume 1 issues 34, 35 and 36, a straight run of bullets and glory spanning September to November of 1966, issue 34 is obviously the origin of the Howlers with all three including that classic Dick Ayers / Roy Thomas guts. Varrying creasing to all three spines with issue 36 having it the most, the first two books have nice even concise edges mostly and your typical browning, the inners to issue 36 aren’t as nice though, a few folded bottom corner tips, some surface scuffs, wear and dings here and there, baking to issue 35 has a big pen marking to left edge, backing to issue 36 has surface scuffs and wear to the perimeter.

"The End Of Hydra," but really dazzles me about this issue is the truly tremendous battle scenes between Strange and Dormammu to his half — Marvel Strange Tales volume 1 issue number 140 from January of 1966. Kirby and Sinnott with a totally classic cover image and Ditko providing the thrills for an early appearance of Clea. Some foxing and fading to the back cover with one tiny chip to the bottom corner tip of it, mostly great inner pages that are even edged, cover is good with some faint foxing and creasing to the perimeter.

I must’ve cataloged and examined "Four Against The Flood Tide" at least 15 times, and it still isn’t tiresome and tedious reviewing Don Heck and Giacoia artwork and a stellar Kirby cover — Marvels Avengers volume 1 issue number 27 from April of 1966, the team is in under their head as they’ve diminished to only four members against The Beetle and Attuma. Considerable foxing and browning to the back cover, browning as well to the inner pages that are sharp edged mostly, slight creasing and print rubbing to perimeter and spine of cover.

Two gritty, grueling and battle-tested samplings together here because it feels right: Marvels Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos King-Size Annual number 1 from 1965, then Marvels Capt. Savage and His Leatherneck Raiders volume 1 issue 1 from January of 1968, the first appearance of the Raiders in "The Last Banzai," Dick Ayers, Syd Shores and of course a classic Kirby cover for the Annual. Some creasing to the cove of the annual vertically alongside spine, some creasing to top right corner and a faded faint stain, slight browning to edge of Capt.Savage cover, even and concise inner pages to that issue, its backing with great edges just slight browning to them, backing to the annual has a few scuffs faded stain to bottom left corner.

You can practically hear the back-and-forth insults and Al with his hand in his pants, a television show that definitely held a firm place for its station and era brought to comic-dom here with two samplings — Now Comics’ Married With Children issue number 1 and part 1 of the Quantum Quartet four part miniseries that is autographed to its cover bottom, the former released in September of 1991, the latter released in October of the same year, the autographs seem to be Tom Richmond and Geoff White, the Penciler and Writer. You gotta love a comedy FF 1 throwback. These two copies are undoubtedly VF/NM, clean, spotless and superb, no autograph certificate for the signed Quantum issue.

Harvey’s cute little red devil in a few burning fiery samplings with this lot, Harvey Comics’ Hot Stuff volume 1 issue number 9 from February of 1959, then Harvey Hot Stuff Sizzlers Giant-Size number 32 also from February but of 1968, almost a decade exact later. Some brief and very faint creases to the bottom right corner on cover of Sizzlers, slight minimal edge wear and a few dings to its spine, some similar faint creases to the bottom of Hot Stuff but even nicer cover, a white and sharp backing to Hit Stuff with a tiny pencil marking to its corner, backing to Sizzlers has some definite chipping and wear to its spine with a tear separating up half of it from the many pages to the issue, some scuffs as well, good even inner pages for both.

Two copies (perhaps one to keep and one to gift?) for the Christmas Hydra epic of this series and the "Hell Hath No Fury" issue, the former with early Barry Windsor-Smith artwork and only the third appearance of Hate Monger, the latter the first new appearance of Hydra after the Baron Strucker death and first appearance of Robert Rickard, plus the BWS Kirby tribute cover; Marvel Nick Fury Agent Of Shield volume 1 issues 10 (two copies) and issue 12 from March and May of 1969. All three issues remain terrific, the second copy of issue 10 has some creasing to the spine, shape and delightful backings while the second copy of issue 10 has some browning to its back and inners.

Double vision in the form of a dangerous dystopian like future of the past via Gerry Conway, Klaus Janson, Marie Severin, and George Perez — Marvels Logan’s Run volume 1 issue 1 (two copies here) from January of 1977, Logan-5 in the comic adaptation of the science fiction film. Hard to choose a better copy here because they both hover around Fine+/VF-, sharp clean copies the both of them.

Easily one of the most acclaimed, respected and important Gotham sagas of its generation here but seeing double as if shot by Joker himself…DC’s Batman A Death In the Family miniseries issues 426 through 429, however there are doubles for issues 427 and 428, and triplicate for the famous Joker killing finale issue 429, marvelous Mike Mignola covers and inner ups and downs from fellow legends Jim Starlin and Denny O’Neil help solidify this four part sensation. To be quite honest, all these copies are very very sharp, clean and delightful in almost every spot, white and sharp even inner pages, great spotless backings, only one Joker cover has two tiny dings to it and a minor scuff stain to bottom left of lone issue 426. Really really wonderful lot indeed!

Being totally honest as I know no other way, this book has been through lifetimes of use and wears its wear almost like a symbol of weathered Spidey pride. It is a NG (No Grade) as it is not complete and missing the back cover, the final page is torn up the left side, holes, tape pieces in many many spots, surface scuffs, lots of wear, creasing like a vein system throughout and browning, almost every condition concern you’d imagine has happened to Peter here but hey that doesn’t make it any less a spectacular and monumental moment to ASM and Parker history, undoubtedly. The first appearance of The Sinister Six, the second appearance of Mysterio and third of the rest of the evil squad, Marvels Amazing Spider-Man volume 1 Annual number 1 from 1964, also the first and only time legend Steve Ditko shows his drawn face toward the very end. Even if only as a reader copy, it’s about as remarkable a reader copy can be in terms of Marvel importance.

The first appearance of the new Robin costume for Tim Drake as he assumes the role of Robin III but only mimicked with a double copy, Alan Grant, Norm Breyfogle and Steve Mitchell lay groundwork for Gotham's greatest boy wonder — DC’s Batman volume 1 issue number 457 from December of 1990, Scarecrow taking the dynamic duo devastatingly. Both copies remain mirror covers of marvelous condition, sharp, clean, fresh and very nice, these are both Direct Editions as noted by the Bat signal where the barcode would be.

Two tremendous samples of spaceway stunner power here with two copies of "The Mark Of The Metazoid" (first appearance) from Arnold Drake and Don Heck , and the sensational The Saturn Storm "The Stars My Battleground? first issue — Marvels Captain Marvel volume 1 issue 5 from September of 1968 (two copies of this that almost mirror each other in condition), and Marvel Spotlight volume 2 issue 1 from July of 1979 from Doug Moench. Slight print rubbing to the perimeter of back on issue 1, mostly great inners and a sharp very nice cover for it, Metazoid copies have some perimeter wear and slight smudge spot or two, one chip to bottom right edge of second copy, browning to both their backings but concise and even inner pages mostly.

Almost as monumental and important as a Captain Marvel feature can get with this landmark key gem — the first appearance of Carol Danvers aka Ms.Marvel aka Warbird aka Binary aka Captain Marvel (currently), the second appearance of Mar-Vell Captain Marvel, the first appearance of Yon-Rogg, the first appearance of Wastrel, legendary "Where Stalks The Sentry," Marvel Super Heroes volume 1 issue number 13 from March of 1968. Some slight creasing wear to the perimeter of cover, some brief faint print rubbing as well, most of the 64 pages remain even sharp and good cornered, some splotchy minor print rubbing to spine of back cover and a faint faded moment of wear or two.

Marvel’s fastest rapid attacker and hero Quicksilver showcased to this stunner cover from John Buscema and Tom Palmer, as a matter of fact the first time he’s shown in his now iconic blue and white uniform here in "The Warlord and The Witch," also happens to be the first appearance of Arkon - Marvels Avengers volume 1 issue number 75 from April of 1970, as Wasp and Yellowjacket quit the team, a cool cameo from Black Goliath also happens in this gem. A few crease dents and some minor print rubbing to the perimeter of back cover, very nice, even and sharp off-white inner pages, super clean, cover remains fabulous and white with only one tiny pen marking above logo.

Three tremendous and giant-sized books from a legend that’s basically become a household name in media from his comic work, to film, to beyond — Fantagraphics’ Frank Miller The Comics Journal Library from May of 2003, then Frank Miller and Lynn Varley Elektra Lives Again Hardcover with dust jacket book by Epic Comics and Graffiti Designs 1990, finally the hardcover that is now stuff of legend thanks to the scene for screen film adaptation, Frank Miller and Varley’s 300 from Dark Horse 1999, all books are first editions. 300 is spotless and superb, the FM Comics Journal is beautiful as well with Jair some slight waving, minor dust and brief scuff or two, Elektra is great inside however there remains a big rip tear to the top of spine for dust jacket, some dirt to the top right and one big chip to the dust jacket on backing.

Bruce Jones and Bernie Wrightson worked wonders together depicting wicked happenings, macabre and dark delights abound with two versions of the same story here — Image Comics and Desperado Publishing’s Freak Show from January of 2005 hardcover then the secondly softcover TPB from 2006. The TPB softcover is smooth clean and sharp, very nice all over, the hardcover is dazzling as well with only very minor surface scuffs or smudges to the cover and backing.

"Justice Is Mine…Sayeth The Liquidator" showcases early sea spectacle with the first appearance of The Liquidator, the final issue edited by legend George Kashdan, an Atlantis whodunnit from Nick Cardy and Bob Haney, the mutant avenger of the seas, the Liquidator, comes to Atlantis to punish a murderer, who appears to be Aquaman himself — DC’s Aquaman volume 1 issue 38 from April of 1968. Some brief browning and faint print rubbing to the sharp back cover, excellent and concise inner pages with outstanding corners, cover has a few faded creases to the bottom right corner and minimally to the spine.

Within "The Shadow Of The Vulture" lurks the vicious and vivacious first cameo appearance of vixen Red Sonja, via Dan Adkins, Sal Buscema Gil Kane, Barry Windsor-Smith and Roy Thomas, a stupendous creator lineup this series touted — Marvels Conan The Barbarian volume 1 issue number 23 from February of 1973. This is a superb, impeccable copy; cover is clean and sharp, backing is white and sharp, inner pages are even, concise and nice, just a delight.

Gerry Conway and Wally Wood worked wonders for their creation and the first appearance here of Karen Starr aka Kara Zor-L aka Power Girl, who punches and pounces here, plus a magnificent Mike Grell cover masterpiece — DC’s All Star Comics volume 1 issue number 58 from February of 1976, the first issue to the series after a super lengthy 12 year absence and hiatus. A fabulously clean and sensationally sharp copy, fantastic edges and corners, great inner pages and a white backing with only some faint print rubbing to it.

As good as gold — A new superhero has arrived in Metropolis and he's taking the city by storm. While Booster Gold does his best to keep up his public facade, he is also secretly using this to his advantage in order to make financial gains but when Booster comes face to face with Blackguard, has he finally faced a threat out of his league? The first appearance of the titular character, plus first appearances of Skeets, Goldstar, and The Director from Dan Jurgens, DC’s Booster Gold volume 1 issue number 1 from February of 1986. Issue is VF/NM, clean and sharp, spectacular everywhere.

If you know than you know why these deserve to be together, the joint first appearances of Helena Wayne aka Huntress II via Mike Grell, Bob Layton, Denny O’Neil, Jack Abel and several other greats = DC All Star Comics volume 1 issue number 69 from December of 1977, then the first full appearance in DC Super Stars issue number 17, the comics released and submitted two days from each other, hence the debate about actual first appearance validity. In any case, they’re both tremendous landmarks and both in tremendous condition. All Star is sticker labeled a NM and it’s not far off, outstanding copies.

Joe Giella, Mike Sekowski and many other greats collaborated on this Supergirl stunning period, DC’s Adventure Comics volume 1 issues 404, 405, 406 and 407, a fantastic femme featured four issue run, from March to June of 1971, Kara Zor-L against numerous foes and knee deep in danger. All four remain in fabulous shape, each sticker labeled a FN or above, great edges and corners.

Spanning spectacular sketches of The Spirit to Sojourn to Indiana Jones and several more, Aaron Lopresti’s astounding artwork on display and dazzling each page after the next with Boom Studios’ The Aaron Lopresti Sketchbook from July of 2005. TPB is like-new and in tremendous sharp and clean condition with no blemishes.

"This Woman, This Warrior" the title says it best, the first fabulous appearance of Carol Danvers as Ms. Marvel fantastically happens here with this landmark, Marvel Ms.Marvel volume 1 issue number 1 from January of 1977, Gerry Conway, John Buscema, John Romita, Marie Severin, Dick Giordano, Joe Sinnott - all these legend behind the making of this gem. One lone and tiny ding to the top center edge of the terrific cover, outstanding concise, clean and even inner pages and back cover is white and awesome with one lone crease dent to the bottom left edge.

A dynamic debut in an explosive first issue, said explosion at an atomic energy plant merges Professor Martin Stein with high school jock Ronnie Raymond, resulting in the nuclear-powered hero, Firestorm, here in his first appearance and origin, plus the first appearance of Danton Black, Thinker and numerous other characters to this series start-off: DC’s Firestorm volume 1 issue number 1 from March of 1978. A few minor and tiny dents and a faint bit of foxing to the top left corner of white and sharp back cover, excellent and even inner pages, cover is fabulous but has one minor ding to the Comics Code box edge, and two tiny faint creases to the top staple, a very great copy.

Because it’s too terrific and tremendous to not put them together, the first cameo and then first cover and full appearance of martial art weapons master and mimicking menace the Taskmaster here, Marvels Avengers volume 1 issue 195 and 196 from May and June of 1980, George Perez and crew creating magic with this also including the second appearance of Doctor Solomon plus a cool fan letter from future legend Kurt Busiek. Both books are beautiful and sharp, only issue 195 has the faintest spine creases, one small surface scuff and slight scattered edge wear to its backing and an interesting company stamping to the bottom of intro page, outstanding everywhere else with this proper pair.

The landmark Black Canary tryout, test, and trouncing of the world’s greatest super hero squad as she joins the team here and the first appearance of this new look and persona, DC’s Justice League Of America volume 1 issue number 75 from November of 1969, "In Each Man There Is A Demon!" A few small speckled stains and some scattered edge wear to the back cover, mostly concise and nice inner pages, cover has some minimal moments of surface rubbing and some slight creases to the spine and bottom right corner.

Two remarkable treasures in one grab, the first appearance of Misty Knight and the first ever Spidey X-men teaming, plus the second appearance of Jean Grey as Phoenix and first Wolverine/Spidey meeting, "Have Yourself A Sandman Little Christmas," and "The Lords Of Light And Darkness? (also their first appearance as well) Marvel Team-Up volume 1 issue number 1 from March of 1972 and the Annual 1 from 1976, double the action and double the awesome! White concise and sharp inner pages, white backings to both with one tiny dot to the bottom of the Annual, one lone faint faded crease to the top left of issue 1, two tremendous copies indeed.

From The Infinity Gauntlet saga to Crisis On Infinite Earths to The New Teen Titans and beyond, George Perez was unmistakably recognized as one of the most profound and acclaimed artist-writers of his period of comic history, leaving more than a mark and many a title and series was improved because of his contributions and shake-ups. Here lies a magnificent and rare hardcover, Desperado and IDW’s The Art Of George Perez from 2012, a first printing, signed and numbered a low 44 of only 400! This book offers readers and fans a chance to witness his immense and sensational career from his early days at Marvel to his glory days at DC where he co-created the New Teen Titans, which rivaled the X-Men in popularity at the time, and revitalized Wonder Woman as both writer and artist. This volume covers his return to the Avengers, as well as his resurrgence at CrossGen and his own independent projects. This tome also offers glimpses of previously never-before-seen material from his files and sketchbooks, private commissioned work, as well as beautifully reproduced images of his personal favorites with insights into his life and creative process. This hardcover has only one minor condition concern: there is a few surface chips to the center of the side of the opening (pictured), the rest of the large and heavy hardcover remains like-new and clean. A fabulous chunk of the legend’s work and comic history here.

In April of 1982, The Rocketeer debuted as a backup feature from Pacific Comics and those humble beginnings the artistry of he dazzling Dave Stevens caught the imaginations of countless readers and became a worldwide sensation, even being turned into a big-budget feature film. The astonishing mad scientist writer Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill invite you take a trip through the dark recesses of cinema, in their first major project together since League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The power of movies, the people behind it, the damage it has done, and the story of one woman forced to bare her soul, is all unspooled one short film at a time. Every chapter is radically different yet all weaved into one tapestry of breathtaking complexity as only Alan Moore could do, this lovely dark lot collects a third of the miniseries included with the lone hardcover number 1 that was only available through Kickstarter — Avatar Press’ Cinema Purgatorio numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 and the Hardcover number 1 from 2016, the four issues span April to August of 2016, four of the 12 chapters. All books are pristine, clean, sharp and like-new.

The Eisner Hall Of Fame legend and brilliant master artist John Buscema is best known for his run on the series The Avengers and The Silver Surfer, and for over 200 stories featuring the sword-and-sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian, he also pencilled at least one issue of nearly every major Marvel title, including long runs on two of the company's top magazines, an indelible mark left with all the magnificent work he gifted the industry. Here collects two of his amazing books: Brian Peck and Hermes Press’ John Buscema Michelangelo Of Comics first printing from 2010 with intro by Roy Thomas, then Vanguard Productions’ The John Buscema Sketchbook from 2001 and with an introduction by Jim Steranko, the sketchbook is a hardcover with dust jacket, the other is a larger soft cover style, book are like-new clean and sharp, there is one tiny ding to the top and bottom edge of book’s opening body for Michelangelo, and one tiny crease bunch to the inner center edge of dust jacket within book, amazing everywhere else.

Enough can’t be said about the endless amount of wondrous work and important contributions from the legend Wally Wood, I’ve done so many a times before; here a wonderful grouping in tribute of Wallace — all four large magazine sized issues of his own series Cannon spanning 1978 into 1980, issues 1, 2, 3 and 4 complete, then a beautiful tome of his lifetime’s collected works and sketches, information and interviews brought together by Editions Deesse and IDW for Woodwork Wallace Wood first printing from 2012. The hardcover remains spotless and sharp, like new, the magazine issues themselves have some slight wear, some creasing to their spines varying and a slight bit of nubbing to a few corners, mostly very nice.

What, me worry? Two satirical and sarcastic samples from the earlier days of Alfred E. Neuman’s mascot past — E.C. Publications’ Mad Magazine, first The Worst From Mad second annual edition collecting early Mad Magazine work from October of 1957 to July of 1958 (early copies of this issue contained a 33 1/3 RPM Record, the record isn’t included with this copy), then Mad Magazine Season’s Greetings issue number 68 from January of 1962. The issue 68 is nice with sharp and concise white inner pages and a fantastic backing however the centerfold is detatched for pages 23 and 24, there is some rust to staples, a crease bend a long the spine vertically and some slight browning and a surface scuff or two to the cover, The Worst issue has a pen marking to the cover and intro page, some bunched creasing to the bottom corners, some surface stains, and a small rip to the top of spine, rust to staples more so, mostly great inner pages, back cover has creasing and wear to its perimeter.

Dell Giant volume 1 issue number 26 from December of 1959, bringing in the ho-ho-holiday cheer with wonderful Carl Barks artwork, fellow legends Tony Strobl and Carl Fallberg collaborated on this Disney gem as well with many others. This Christmas issue of the Dell Giant series was easily one of the most sought after of the 55 issue series run. A very nice copy, some creasing to the bottom right corner of cover, a crease wear vertically along the spine, slight chipping to the opening edge, a minor ding below title, one tiny chip to the top edge of back cover that is white and nice while the inner pages are sharp and concise, faint browning but great corners and edges.

A scary new era of Archie begins with terrors and frights for a new generation, the Betty and Veronica and Jughead of yesteryear have never looked as vibrant with amazing artists like Franchesco Francavilla, Andrew Pepoy and other greats — Archie Comics Publications Afterlife With Archie volume 1 issues 1 through 9, with two mirror copies of issue 8, spanning December of 2013 to July of 2016, zombies in Riverdale and nobody is safe, the two copies of issue 4 are the variant Tim Seeley covers, issue 5 is the variant Andrew Pepoy cover as is issues 6 and 7 as well, this terrific lot is only missing issue 10 to complete the first volume run. All copies are clean and superb, only a spot or two of surface dots to a back cover, mostly marvelous everywhere here.

More cartoon comedy from the era of the early days of the boob tube, DC’s The Adventures Of Bob Hope volume 1 issue number 24 from December of 1953, Win Mortimer, Bob Oksner, Ira Schnapp and others work on this humorous and light series. A very nice copy this one is, some creasing to the middle of spine and slight spots to the perimeter, a small surface dot and pencil marking near the title, nice frontispiece and clean off-white concise inner pages, back cover has a few tiny surface stains and minimal smudges.

Owen Fitzgerald and Carl Howard plus the other usual cartoon greats again on this issue that sees good old Bob trying his best with equestrian activities comedically, DC’s Adventures Of Bob Hope volume 1 issue number 39 from July of 1956. Despite some browning to the perimeter, the cover remains very sharp and nice, some more browning to the frontispiece, inner pages are concise clean and even, back cover has a tiny chip to the bottom corner, a faded dated stamping to the top right corner, and browning to the perimeter.

Another Golden Age goof from Mr. Hope here, more laughs and zings with another Owen Fitzgerald cover piece, DC’s Adventures of Bob Hope volume 1 issue number 28 from September of 1954, Bob in a pet shop, with segments of Pinkie and Kittie Karr. Cover has a rip to the right center edge, some scattered perimeter creasing and wear and one tiny pencil marking to the title, mostly great and even inner pages with good edges, back cover is outstanding as well.

Nonstop with the Bob hijinks and laughs, DC’s Adventures Of Bob Hope volume 1 issue number 31 from March of 1955, Owen Fitzgerald cover and inner working with the usual numerous chuckle segments. This copy has definite wear to the cover and its backing, two rips to opening edge of cover, pencil marking to the title and faintly to bottom left corner, creasing and edge wear to perimeter, mostly good inner pages as they remind even and concise, back cover is worn, a big bunched crease tear to the left edge and chipping wear to the perimeter.

The first fantastic volume after it became the Giant issue series to Archie’s Yuletide run here and spanning an impressive amount of issues and time, Archie Comics Archie Giant Series volume 1 issues 10, 20, 25, 31, 137 (the series skipped numbers from 35 to 136), 144, 150, 158, 159, 167 and 179, 11 Giant sized issues in total, spanning January of 1961 all the way to January of 1971, a decade to to the date oddly enough. Most books remain in the VG+ to Fine- range, issue 10 has some staining and creasing to its perimeter on cover and backing, a few minor tiny cover surface scuffs, some minimal creasing spots and moments, mostly outstanding concise clean and even inner pages which is great considering often times with Archie’s the pin-ups could be torn out or the coloring pages drawn and colored in, nice white backings mostly.

"The Last Banzai" and “The Kachinas Sing Of Doom” two vastly different samplings from Marvel from two very different eras to compare the changing of Marvel through time, Capt. Savage and His Leatherneck Raiders volume 1 issue 1 from January of 1968 (the first appearance of The Raiders and one of Marvel’s big productions issues of the time), then a random issue divert to where Marvel teamed with the National Football League to muster a new sports hero and diversity from the typical superhero fare, NFL Superpro volume 1 issue 6 from March of 1992. The latter is a super VF+ copy, the former has sensational edges and corners mostly but some browning to edge perimeters, browning to frontispiece and backing perimeter edge but excellent inners.

McFarlane Peter Parker with a trio of samplings, beginning with the black and silver Spidey head direct edition variant Marvel Spider-Man number 1 from August of 1990, then issues 2 and 6 from that first run, the Lizard and Hobgoblin issues from September of 1990 and January of 1991, respectively. All three issues are outstanding copies in particular the silver black variant number 1 (all of these num her 1’s in this auction remain spectacular in shape), great corners, fabulous back covers and hardly any creasing or wear spots.

Almost the same as the last lot but with a difference to the end, McFarlane’s Spider-Man black and silver variant Spidey Head direct edition number 1 from August of 1990, issue number 2 the Lizard feature from September of 1990, but then it takes a web turn with the double sized annual Marvels Amazing Spider-Man volume 1 number 19 from 1985 "Fun ‘n Games" the first appear of The Spider Slayer Alistair Smythe and the first appearance of the Spider Slayer Mark VII with that fun and fantastic throwback cover via John Romita and Mary Wilshire. Three terrific copies indeed, hardly any blemishes in this lot, a slight faint bit of nubbing to the bottom of spine for the ASM annual, great inners, great backings.

The last of the Black and Silver McFarlane Spider-Man number 1 variants but this time with a delightful and awesome gem beside it: the Heroes and Villains cover for "The Wedding" issue marriage of Peter and Mary Jane Watson, Marvels Amazing Spider-Man Giant-Sized Annual number 21 from 1987, via John Romita, Vince Coletta, Jim Shooter, Paul Ryan and more, several villains and heroes of past and present appearance in this special. Both books remain tremendous and superb, hardly a crease between them, delightful inner pages and proper back covers.

A whole bunch of Man Without Fear to discover with this terrific lot: starting off with "Last Hand," the DD delusional coping with Elektra’s death issue, a double copy of “Stilts” as Stilt Man is manipulating Matt Murdock, Matt’s senses begin to worsen with double copies again of “Overkill” the first appearance of Stone and The Chaste (also a new look for Black Widow begins), then on those deadly tails comes the next issue “The Widow’s Bite” as Widow is healing from poisoning and a fantastic Frank Miller sketch page is included, then triplicates of the “Roulette” issue that sees Frank Miller return for art one last time, then finishing with the Lee Weeks / Al Williamson 300th issue double sized tribute fourth final part of a mini saga — Marvels Daredevil volume 1, 10 issues, number 182, 186 (x2), 187 (x2), 188, 191 (x3), and 300 spanning a timeline of May of 1982 to January of 1992. All copies are fantastic in condition with hardly a single crease between them all, sharp corners, nice edges, great concise inner pages and delightful back covers.

Archie in the snow amidst "The Bear Hug" and a secret Archie agent feature “The Man From Riverdale” then also a Giant Sized Annual from the Giant Volume 1 a sports and tennis feature: Archie Comics Life With Archie volume 1 issues 38 and 49 from June of 1965 and May of 1966, plus Archie Giant Series Archie Annual number 24 from December of 1972, three issues chalk full of Archie. There is a few surface creases to issue 38 some minor creases to the bottom right corner and one faded pencil marking to the corner box, issue 49 has some considerable wear and creasing to the spine and bottom right corner plus a stamping and pen marking to the top right corner, the Annual is in very nice condition.

Continues with the early Archie but making it even more amazing, a quadruple of very early samples here with Archie Comics Archie Giant Series volume 1 issue 18, 19, 30, and 32, spanning September of 1962 into June of 1965, Betty and Veronica with the usual Kighead shenanigans of course. These are four nice copies honestly, a small chip to the top edge of issue 18, a few creases and wear to the perimeter plus a cost stamping, minor nubbing and faint creasing to he spine of issue 19, issues 30 and 32 remain delightful and very sharp and clean.

The last of the astonishing and awesomely early Archie and its quite a lovely lot, Archie Comics Archie Giant Series Magazine volume 1 issues 34 and 35 then issues 145 and 156 (after issue 35 the series numbering jumped to 136 in chronological order) spanning November of 1965 to October of 1969, four fabulous issues together. Most are Fine+ in condition or hovering around it, while issue 35 has some creasing wear to the spine, its bottom right corner and wear to its backing.

A cartoon comedy cavalcade of chuckles again, early DC The Adventures Of Bob Hope with a stupendous seven issues lot numbers 40, 44, 51, 54, 52, 59, and 60, a series span of August of 1956 to December of 1959, Cal Howard, Jack Schiff and of course the outstanding Owen Fitzgerald inner and cover workings. Most of the conditions range around the VG- to + area, some corner bunching and creasing, browning moments, spine wear, issue 44 being the nicest in shape near a Fine-, issue 52 has some considerable wear, chipping and creasing to its cover and back perimeter.

The last of these particular laughs but in a large and loony lot, eight great issues together for DC’s Adventures Of Bob Hope volume 1 numbers 61, 68, 70, 76, 89, 90, 92, and 93 spanning February of 1960 to June of 1965, Win Mortimer, Bob Oksner and the legend Arnold Drake emerging behind the pages for some of these issues. Mostly Fine- or hovering around it for this bunch, issue 93 has the most wear as its cover is detached and it’s missing a back cover, edge wear also, minor spine creases to the rest if any, slight nubbing, as the other issues remain mostly nice.

"The Priest," “Bellyful Of Blues,” “Dark Is My Love and Deadly,” and “True Confessions,” all four parts included in this incredible first volume and also the origins of Tyrone and Tandy in the epic conclusion issue, Marvels Cloak and Dagger volume 1 issues 1 through 4, all four parts of the miniseries, from October of 1983 to January of 1984, and featuring amazing artwork from Terry Austin and Rick Leonardi. All four of these are gem copies, impeccably sharp, superbly clean and sensational smooth.

The man of steel against a possessed Supergirl, the yellow large headed Muto The Monarch Menace and Zha-Vam The Invincible (both first appearances) — George Klein, Jim Mooney, Otto Binder, Curt Swan and the list of legends goes on and on, DC’s Action Comics volume 1 issues 324, 338, and 351, May of 1965, June of 1966, and June of 1967. All three copies are Fine+ if not Very Fine, sharp corners and edges, excellent inner pages and backings.

Ready for something out of this world? The first appearance of Richard Rider the titular space titan, first appearance of Nova Prime, the Xandarians, Caps Cooper, Comdor, Diamondhead, origin and first appearance of Corruptor plus tons more in the phenomenal first four issues of Marvels Nova volume 1 from September to December of 1976, via legends Rich Buckler, John Buscema, Joe Sinnott and many other greats. Luckily all four issues are fabulous and lovely in condition, easily VF’s for each, only the tiniest bit of nubbing to the bottom of a spine or two, amazing back covers and inners, one minor dated stamping to top backing of issue 2.

It just keeps getting more amazing, the first appearance and death of Lefty Donovan as Hobgoblin in "Sacrifice Play," the the next three Spidey steps “The Daydreamers,” “Interruptions,” and finally “And He Strikes Like A Thunderball,” which was ranked number 84 in Wizard Magazine’s Top 100 Best Single Issue Comics Since You Were Born,” Marvels Amazing Spider-Man volume 1 a four issue straight run 245 through 248, October of 1983 into January of 1984. Stunner copies, sensational and spectacular in shape, very difficult to find even a minor blemish with these beauties.

Mike Royer, Mike Arens, Don Christiansen, and Dan Spiegle providing the framework for fantastic cartoon glory of yesteryear, beginning with the second ever appearance of Space Ghost and continuing on, Gold Key’s Hanna Barbera Super TV Heroes volume 1 issues 3, 4, 5, and 6 spanning October of 1968 into July of 1969. Some minor print rubbing and slight spine creasing, some nubbing, brief surface scuffs to an area or two.

Legends Neal Adams, Nick Cardy, Dick Giordano and a ton more amazing crew to the cruel streets of Gotham in this spectacular sequential four issue grab — DC’s Batman volume 1 issues 252 through 255, the last two being Super Spectacular 100 page samples and the final Neal Adams Bat work for a good while after this, issue 255 is also the first appearance of Anthony Lupus Werewolf and Lew Moxson, October of 1973 into April of 1974. Some faint wear and print rubbing to the bottom of spine for issue 255, the other three issues are very very nice with only minimal creasing to their spines and faint wear.

The first appearance of Rocket Rabbit and cameo appearance of Neil The Horse, plus the first appearances of Ted Kord Blue Beetle and The Question since 1974 with a very cool Bob McLeod cover piece, Charlton Bullseye Volume 2 issue 1 from June of 1981. A terrific clean and sharp copy, hardly a blemish to it besides some faint browning moments.

Landmarks and legendary, "By Ben Betrayed," “When Falls The Mighty,” and “And So It Ends” (the splitting up of the FF as Sue and Reed leave, remarkable stuff from Kirby, Lee and Sinnott, Marvels Fantastic Four volume 1 issues 69, 70 and 71 from December, January and February of 1967 into 1968, the Four against formidable foes such as The Mad Thinker and The Scavenger. Some faint browning and edge wear to issue 71, slight spine creasing to issue 70’s spine but very nice elsewhere, slight browning to the perimeter of 69 that is also very delightful.

Besides the obvious issue one, this is four of the most important and incredible issues to the beginning series of green skinned vicious vixen Jennifer Walters, her second appearance, the first appearance of the She-Droid, the Jack Abel covered issue 4 plus the first appearance of Ultima and The Word — Marvels She-Hulk volume 1 issues 2, 3, 4 and 9 spanning March, April, May and October of 1980. All four are Very Fine+, superb copies that remain sharp and sensational.

Created for chaos by the US Army now he’s unleashed to the public, Jack The King Kirby’s joy project here with six of the major important samples of the 19 issue series run — Marvels Machine Man volume 1 issues 1, 2, 3, 7, 18 and 19 spanning April of 1978 to February of 1981, it’s ending, and including the first appearance of Power Broker, the Alpha Flight featured issue, the first appearance of Jack-O-Lantern (who’d later become Hobgoblin II), and of course the first titular series for the character. All six issues are spectacular in shape, outstanding delightful copies with only a minor spot of creases to the bottom right corner of issue 3’s cover.

Spanning January of 1969 to March of 1971, some awesome Atlantis examples here even if it does skip a bit like a stone on the surface of a pond, DC’s Aquaman volume 1 issues 43, 46, 50, 51, 53, and 56, of course stunning Nick Cardy covers, Jim Aparo artwork, the first appearance of Crusader, the 50th milestone spectacular includes a dynamite Deadman segment from Neal Adams plus the first appearance of Mupo and others. Some minor spine and edge creasing here and there, issue 43 has it most, minimal surface wear and brief nubbing in spots, some water damage waving to the bottom of issue number 50, a few stain spots to the back of issue 51.

Something stunning and Steranko surging here, from Vanguard Productions and Jim Steranko, Tales From The Edge volume 1 issue number 11 from March of 1998 the special edition graphic Prince Of Darkness Steranko plus included is a mint condition poster autographed by Steranko and Spurlock and numbered a low 92 of only 500 copies, what a gem, poster is wrapped in plastic and rolled with a black paper backing. Comic itself is like-new and beautiful as well.

When this gem arrived to me it was at the bottom of a box in a ziplock bag and in utter disbelief I kept uttering "Umm…umm…" to myself, what a marvelous and amazing discovery, definitely the oldest comic book I’ve ever held in my hands. Four issues after easily one of the most sought after and top ten valuable comics of all-time comes this treasure, Whiz Comics volume 1 issue number 4 (lists as number 5 inside as the first issues were one before) from May of 1940, almost a century old as the origin is told of Billy Batson aka Captain Marvek aka Shazam, his fifth ever appearance! Conditions: considering how it arrived to me and its age, this book had held up, one chip to the top left corner, some minor chipping and wear to the bottom edge, slight staining to the left center area, one faded faint crease to the top left, slight wear around the staples, inner pages have browning, a few chipped corners, folded corner tips, back cover has some chipping and a small rip. Sealed in a hard taut acetate bagging with firm clear back board. What an honor to inspect this one!

The astonishing cartoon artwork of legend Carl Barks on brilliant display in this vintage landmark, Dell Comics’ Walt Disney Vacation Parade volume 1 issue 1 from July of 1950, talk about Golden Age glory, 55 pages of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck delight from yesteryear. A very nice surface and edging to cover, only a slight tiny rip to top of spine and creasing along spine vertically, mostly great inner pages, nice backing with some minor wear, a small chip and scuff.

The complete four issue limited series together in one glorious grab, Jeff Dee covers for all four, "A Charge Of Mayhem," “We Are Under Attack,” “Siege Mentality,” and “Fight Or Flight,” Eclipse Comics Villains and Vigilantes issues 1 through 4 from 1986, all four issues are fantastic in condition with only some very minor moments of edge wear if at all.

Worth the price of admission alone for the brilliant Bill Sienkiewicz painted covers and marvelous Marv Wolfman scripts, a sensational grouping of Eclipse Comics’ Total Eclipse volume 1 Books One, Two, Four and Five, spanning May of 1988 to April of 1989, missing Book Three unfortunately as it’s not a complete set but does include the one shot The Seraphim Objective from November of 1988. All five are gem copies, clean, sharp and pristine.

Weird worlds and dark discovers abound with these three horror picks: first, Marvels Tomb Of Dracula volume 1 issue 39 from December of 1975 the death of Vlad Tepes "The Death Of Dracula," DC’s Phantom Stranger volume 1 issue number 36 from May of 1975 with the Jim Aparo cover art, finally DC’s House Of Secrets volume 1 issue number 123 from September of 1974 “A Fugitive Aparition.” Issues range from VG- to Fine-, some creasing and edge wear to corners and edges, slight print rubbing and browning to backings faintly.

"Among Us Walks…A Black Goliath" said excellent and enourmous entity lurks here in his first appearance as BG and origin, Black Goliath begins with Marvels Power Man volume 1 issue number 24 from April of 1975, Dan Adkins and Gil Kane with the wonderful cover. Said cover has some print rubbing to the top edge and bottom right corner, nice concise inner pages mostly, slight browning and wear to back cover.

The Huntress, Tim Drake and of course the caped crusader to the streets of a possessed and terrorized Gotham with Azrael and numerous other decrepit beings lurking, DC’s Batman Contagion saga that spans numerous Bat related titles, spanning March to April of 1996, however this set is not complete as it’s missing issue 1, 4 and 10, the artwork of Kelley Jones and Matt Haley on display with these nine issues. All excellent and fabulous copies with very little to no wear.

Mostly spanning the early 1990’s with these five issues together: Starting with Valiant’s Turok: Dinosaur Hunter number 1 from July of 1993, Marvel and WWF’s Wolverine Global Jeopardy number 1 from December of 1993, Marvel X-men 2099 issue 1 from October of 1993, Image Comics Brigade Volume 2 issue 1 from May of 1993 wit the foldout cover, finally Marvel 2099 Unlimited Number 1 from July of 1993. All five books are in beautiful shape, only condition concern being some very very minor creasing to the spine of the blue foil cover of X-men 2099.

Three tremendously vintage Dell Classics from yesteryear here — Dell Publishing’s number 699 Prince Valiant from 1956, The Lone Ranger number 100 also from 1956, and Ron Tim Tin from March of 1956 as well. There is a chip to the bottom left corner of the Rin Tin Tin with some scattered creasing and wear to the perimeter edges of covers and backing while that issue remains the nicest copy of this bunch, The Lone Ranger cover is barely attached via the bottom staple, definite chipping and wear to its spine, mostly good inner pages with some browning, Prince Valiant has a similar spine wear with chipping and creasing, a pencil marking to title and some wear to inners.

The Limited Edition feature of the Fab Four’s favorite drummer, Personality Comics The Beatles Featuring Ringo Starr issue number 4 from February of 1992. The final issue of the four issue miniseries, each issue includes (as does this one, pictured) four collectible trading cards attached at the centerfold, this is a limited edition numbered 1976 of only 2000. Issue is near impeccable in shape, only some faint wear around the top staple.

Spanning different months of 1956 comes four cartoon features from Dell Publishing, Daffy number 5 from April- June of 1956, Walt Disney Comics and Stories number 11 from August, number 693 Walt Disney’s Song Of The South featuring Brer Rabbit, finally Walt Disney Goofy Success Story number 702. Some scattered wear and chipping to the Goofy feature’s cover and spine with much chipping, the other three remain nicer with some slight browning to Daffy’s bottom and faded minor creasing to Brer Rabbit and WD Comics and Stories.

Woody Woodpecker and Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig make for a terrific triplicate of laughs and zings with this delightful Dell lot — Walter Lantz’ New Funnies numbers 218 and 222 from April and August of 1955, then issue 182, 162 and 163 of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies Comics from January, April and May of 1955. Issue 162 is a superb and VF copy, very slight pencil markings and faint creases to the other books, some rust to top staple of issue 222, mostly good inner pages and backings.

This is quite a cool lot and diverse too, 6 different DC samplings in one grab: the flagship title DC’s Detective Comics issue 434 from April of 1973 "The Spook That Stalked Batman with the M.W. Kaluta cover, Metal Men issue 43 from May of 1970 with Chemo The Chemical Menace, 1st Issue Special Code Name Assassin number 11 from February of 1976 the first appearance of the titular character with the Mike Grell cover, Swing With Scooter number 30 from October of 1970 with the Henry Scarpelli cover, Blackhawk number 248 from October of 1976 with the Vince Coletta cover, finally Superboy number 158 from July of 1969 with the Neal Adams cover and inner Wally Wood work. Whew, what a lot. Some definite wear to the perimeter of Superboy, slight staining and print rubbing to perimeter of Blackhawk, Metal Men remains the nicest and a Fine- circling around that condition, spine creasing to 1st Issue Special, slight browning and faded staining to Scooter with slight nubbing to bottom corners, some brief creasing and chipping to perimeter of Detective Comics copy.

Mr. Wilson has never been so traumatized and terrorized with this terrific lot of 5 menacings, Dennis The Menace issue 154 from 1977, Dennis The Menace Bonus Magazine Series issues one from 1977 and one from 1978, Dennis The Menace And His Friends Series issues 36 and 37 from 1977 and 1978, respectively, all works of wonder by Hank Ketchum. All five are fantastic copies with the exception of issue number 36 that has some spine creasing and slight print rubbing, only minor creases elsewhere and brief surface dings if at all.

An astounding collection put together of classic tales brought to life from wonderful legends spanning literature history, Lewis Carroll, H.G. Wells, Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe, and so many others — Berkley Publishing Classics Illustrated 17 (seventeen) issues included most issues released around 1990, most first editions. All issues are very sharp, clean and like-new, only The Secret Agent issue has some creasing to its bottom right corner, also Ivanhoe’s cover has brief creasing and some minor staining to back of Secret Agent.

Three tremendous fables of yesteryear featuring stories by the world’s greatest authors, The Pioneers, Joan Of Arc, and Snow White, Gilberton Classics Illustrated volume 1 issues 37 and 78 from May of 1947 and December of 1950, then the Golden Anniversary issue of Walt Disney’s Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs from the Fall of 1987 with poster included inside. Some minor waving to cover and spine wear, some slight creasing to the spines of Classics Illustrated, a brief nubbing to the top of spine of Joan Of Arc, a but of rust around the staples, minor wear around spine and bottom right corner of Pioneers.

Chic Young’s cartoon passion project and creation from many decades ago on display through two series here with Harvey Publications Dagwood and Blondie, Dagwood issues 39, 41 and 58 spanning July of 1950 to October of 1955, then Blondie numbers 69 and 74 from the same years. Chipping to top corners of 2 of the 3 Dagwoods with some spine wear, creasing and edge wear, backing creasing and wear, bottom scuffs, the Blondie’s are nice with a minor pencil marking to corner box of 69, minimal scuffs and edge wear, some pen marking to the sendaway ads, mostly cream off white inner pages.

The three issue end finale of the second volume series plus two other Marvel titles: Marvel The Official Handbook of The Marvel Universe volume 2 issue 18, 19 and 20 (the final issue) with Keith Pollard cover artwork spanning October of 1987 to February of 1988, then Marvel What If… issue number 50 from June of 1993 and Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos volume 1 issue 121 from September of 1974 "An Eye For An Eye." Some slight staining and edge creases to the Sgt. Fury but the rest of the lot remain sharp, clean and delightful in condition.

It begins with three vintage Tom and Jerry samplings, then onto Harvey Comics cartoon features, Gold Key, the St. John Paul Terry’s Comics with Heckle and Jeckle and Mighty Mouse, ending with United Features Nancy And Sluggo and Fritzi Ritz, so Dell Comics Tom and Jerry numbers 149, 91 and 66 from January of 1950 to December of 1955, then early 70’s issues of Harvey Hot Stuff number 125 and Wendy Witchworld number 49, Gold Key Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny and Walt Disney Uncle Scrooge issues 3 from June of 1971 and issue 115 from October of 1974, Paul Terry’s Comics number 102 and 103 from 1953, Nancy and Sluggo Special Spring Issue via United Features number 22 from 1948, finally Fritzi Ritz number 36 from September of 1954. Some serious spine wear and creasing to the Tom and Jerry’s, surface staining a nd slight wear to the Harvey’s, nubbing and chipping to the Gold Key’s, spine wear and staple rust to the Paul Terry’s, pencil markings and minimal edge wear to the United Features.

Late 70’s mutant mayhem and magnificence on devastating display, five sequential and spectacular issues together, Marvels Uncanny X-men volume 1 issues 115, 116, 117, 118, and 119, the tried and truly treasured team of John Byrne, Chris Claremont, and Terry Austin with stunning work that’s now stuff of legend, the first appearance of Mutant X and origin of Professor X plus numerous other important happenings within this lot. All five books are beautiful and pristine, superb copies.

Easily one of the most acclaimed and instantly recognizable Joker stories ever told, Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s beloved Batman The Killing Joke here in the Deluxe Edition Hardcover with Intro by Tim Sale from 2008, pairing with it the animated DVD DC Batman The Killing Joke from 2016 still sealed and plastic wrapped, never opened. Hardcover remains fantastic in condition.

Three stupendous Steve Ditko samplings of everyone’s favorite cosmic hero Allan Adam including the first appearance of Fiery-Icer, the first appearance and origin of Nightshade, the first appearance of Doctor Spectro, just stunning stuff with this tremendous triplicate — Charlton Comics Captain Atom volume 2 issues 79, 82, and 87 from February and September of 1966 and August of 1967, all three books range from VG+ to Fine-, mostly nice corners and edges, slight spine creasing, minor print rubbing moments.

A series that garnered more than its fair share of attention and audience and helped establish the names of the Hernandez Brothers, one of the first comics in the alternative comics movement of the 80’s — Love and Rockets volume 1 number 1 from 1982 the magazine sized black and white inner page issue, then because why not, a commemorative 24 x 17 inch poster with poster tube (card sets not included), issue 1 remains in like-new, fabulous condition with no major or minor blemishes.

The Three Rocketeers Sgt. Beefy Brown, Captain Kip McCoy and Figures Faraday in this space race Silver Age’d spectacle — Harvey and Fun Day Funnies’ Blast Off issue number 1 (one-shot) from October of 1965, featuring Jack Kirby and Al Williamson artwork. A terrific concise and even clean inner page condition, white and sharp back cover and a beautiful cover, sticker labeled a VF and I concur, a gem indeed, only one blemish being a small pen marking below the title on cover.

An early and exciting Enemy Ace appearance in "The Killer Of The Skies," as legendary creator Joe Kubert crafted some stunning and sensational imagery for Hans Von Hammer against the lone appearance of The Hunter, DC’s Showcase volume 1 issue number 57 from August of 1965. One tear to top of spine that is hidden but shows slightly on back cover, some very brief creasing to the spine on cover, mostly great corners and inner pages.

The Higher United Nations Defense Enforcement Reserves to the rescue with this landmark moment, Tower Comics Thunder Agents volume 1 issue 1 from November of 1965, of course the first appearance of the crew via Len Brown and Wally Wood, the team would go on for many series throughout many decades. A few surface dings and minor scuffs, slight creasing to cover, small rip to right center edge and a pen marking to the title, slight print rubbing to the back cover, white frontispiece and even inner pages.

The super-team supreme of Doctor Fate and Hourman are joined by fellow Golden Age gladiator Green Lantern as "Solomon Grundy Goes On A Rampage," DC Showcase volume 1 issue number 55 from March of 1965, Murphy Anderson and Gardner Fox dazzling the masses with the first Silver Age appearances of Solomon Grundy and Green Lanten. Some wear, creasing and rubbing to spine and also creasing to right edge, mostly good inners with slight browning and centerfold page has one tiny brown stain near staple, back cover has scattered creasing and print rubbing to its perimeter and one small chip to spine.

Staggeringly stupendous Neal Adams artwork with a phenomenal lot of four early issues — DC’s Phantom Stranger volume 2 issues 2, 3, 4 and 5, spanning August of 1969 to February of 1970, Otto Binder and Bill Draut accompany Adams, issue number 4 is a particular highlight as it’s the first issue in the series to include all original content and the first appearance of Stranger’s mystic blue cape that would become synonymous. All four of the copies are beautiful VF+ samplings, superb sharpness and smoothness, tiny pen marking to the top corner on backing of issue 2.

Four absolute fabulous Jack Kirby Joe Sinnott Nick Fury covers for this sequential run of Shield and Strange — Marvels Strange Tales volume 1 lot issues 139, 140, 141 and 142, December, January, February and March of 1965 to 1966, issue 141 is the first appearance of Mentallo and also The Fixer. Some slight brief spine creasing and minor wear around the staples somewhat, minor wear to other areas but mostly good inner pages and nice back covers, small dated stamping to back cover of issue 139.

Five vibrant and violent Vlad Tepes vampire bites to this vivid lot, Marvels Tomb of Dracula volume 1 issues 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 spanning November of 1972 to June of 1973, Van Helsing and crew amongst a bunch of lesser character first appearance and occurrences with Gene Colan and Gerry Conway inner workings. All five of these books remain fantastic in condition, only some very very minimal creasing to a spine, tiny amount of nubbing possibly.

Magnificent Murphy Anderson cover artwork and dazzling inner imagery and peculiar instances of the utmost unusual with this triplicate lot, DC’s Strange Adventures volume 1 issues 135, 144 and 153 from December of 1961, September of 1962, and June of 1963, "Fishing Hole In The Sky," “When The Earth Blacked Out,” and “Threat Of The Faceless Creature.” These are superb VF easily copies, sharp edges and corners, delightful inner pages and very nice back covers mostly.

"While A World Awaits," “The Power And The Pendulum,” and “Unto Us…Sons Of Satannish,” a tremendous triple feature of Gene Colan and Roy Thomas gems with the first appearances of Clea, Sons Of Satannish, Asmodeus, and Satannish — Marvels Doctor Strange volume 1 issues 173, 174, and 175 a consecutive shot from October to December of 1968. Phenomenal and fantastic copies all three of them, very minor spine creasing, tiny crease to the top right corner of cover of issue 174.

Curt Swan, George Klein, and Jack Schiff amongst many other DC legends to this super quadruple grouping that featured the first appearance of Magnetic Kid and Starfinger plus early Legion Of Super Hero moments with Superboy — DC’s Adventure Comics volume 1 issues 332, 333, 334 and 335 from May, June, July and August of 1965. A minor surface scuff and creasing to the top left corner of issue 332, brief creasing to issue 334’s spine, faint wear in moments, minor print rubbing to a backing or two, but mostly VF+ copies that are in terrific shape.

The treasured team of Arnold Drake, Bob Brown and Bruno Premiani behind the pages for these four proper products of early DP lore — DC’s The Doom Patrol volume 1 issues 102, 103, 104 and 105, spanning March, May, June and August of 1966, the World’s Strangest Hero Squad against Mr.103, Meteor Man and more plus the marriage of Elasti-Girl to Mento feature. All four issues are sharp and in good shape, some spinal creasing to issue 105 and 102, faint creases otherwise if any, minor moments of wear to a backing spot or two, mostly terrific inner pages.

Carmine Infantino, Dick Giordano, Nick Cardy, marvelous giants from comic history with this wonderful run of four consecutive issues of DC’s Teen Titans volume 1, issues 24, 25, 26 and 27 from December of 1969 to June of 1970, first appearance of Lilith and Malcolm Duncan plus tons of other exciting events with these gems. Only a very minimal amount of spine creasing in a few moments, but these ads mostly superb and sharp copies with very little blemishes, nice inner pages and delightful back covers as well.

Devastating Donald Blake specimens with this four issue run threat features fabulous and iconic Jack Kirby artwork of course plus the first appear of Mangog — Marvels Mighty Thor volume 1 issues 152, 153, 154, and 155 spanning May to August of 1968. Most of the copies hover around a Fine+, very nice conditions for them with only some very minimal edge wear spots.

Beginning with the monumental first appearance of Belit and only getting more brutal and brilliant from there on, the first four samplings of savagery with Marvels Giant-Size Conan The Barbarian volume 1 issue 1 through 4 spanning September of 1974 to June of 1975, of course outstanding and heralded work from Roy Thomas, Gil Kane, Vince Coletta, BWS and many more legends. These are beauties condition wise, truly terrific and superb making it difficult to spot a blemish, only super faint moments of surface wear perhaps, possible faint nubbing, really great copies.

Beginning with the brilliant retelling of their origins, including the first appearance of Illusion and Glamour, then ending on a high mark with the first appearances of Billy and Tommy Maximoff (Wiccan and Speed soon-to-be), the entire twelve issues miniseries that showcases early and extraordinary Wandavision — Marvels The Vision and The Scarlet Witch volume 2 issues 1 to 12, spanning October of 1985 to September of 1986. These are all gem and gorgeous copies, easy VF+ conditions, clean sharp and super nice books.

Two terrific magazine sized Marvel morsels here, "God Loves, Man Kills" by Chris Claremont and Brent Eric Anderson and "Love and War? by Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz — Marvel Graphic Novel number 5 and number 24, from February of 1983 and November of 1986. Some slight wear to spines, minor surface rubbing in spots, faint warping to back cover of Daredevil and tiny ink dot to bottom of X-men on cover.

Reinstated and ready for radical action against Cobra, Duke and crew against Cobra Commander, Zartan, Destro, Storm Shadow and others, with out of this world cover artworks by J. Scott Campbell, Mike Zeck, and fellow amazing artists — Image Comics G.I.Joe A Real American Hero volume 2 issues 1 through 12 spanning November of 2001 to November of 2022, a year’s worth run of more than meets the eye. Some slight warping and faint moments of wear but most of these copies remain sharp, clean and fabulous.

Absolutely massive and humongous, nineteen (19) issues scattered throughout Dell Publishing’s early era of silver screen sensations: Dell Movie Classics numbers 631, 639, 709, 741, 790, 845, 910, 1012, 1056, 1101, 1121, 1155, 1156, 1157, 1179, 1188, 1210, 1227, and 1300, spanning a timeline of May of 1955 to February of 1962 and including several different adaptations such as Davy Crockett, Hercules Unchained, The Land Unknown, Swiss Family Robinson and several others. There is some browning that varies from issue to issue, some edge wear and spine creasing, some pen and ink markings possibly, but most if not all have concise even inner pages and are intact, no major giant rips or big blemishes, most copies hover around the VG- area or so, one chip and burn spot to backing of Parent Trap.

Massive and gigantic, 24 total issues of Gilberton Company’s Classics Illustrated spanning June of 1944 to May of 1958, Issues 3, 4, 7, 10, 22, 31, 32, 34, 47, 75, 91, 96, 97, 106, 107, 112, 117, 118, 124, 131, 133, 138, 141, and 144, the is a run that features fables of legendary lore from H.G. Wells, Jack London, Jules Verne and many many other of literature’s best writers brought to comic format. Some serious spine chipping and wear to the Lorna Doone issue, most issues have spine wear, browning and some surface dings and edge wear, many photos included of covers and backings.

Long before Captain America led the Avengers, he joined the original Human Torch, Namor the Sub-Mariner and more as the mightiest heroes of World War II - the Invaders. With young adventurers Bucky and Toro by their side, they charged into overseas action, taking on Nazi threats such as Baron Blood, Master Man, Warrior Woman and the vilest of them all - the Red Skull. Along the way, the Invaders made new allies including Union Jack, Spitfire and the Liberty Legion, Marvel The Invaders Omnibus from November of 2022, this book is plastic wrapped and practically new with no perforations or tears to the plastic.

Surely astonishing and remarkable and not just for the stunning Steranko artwork either, this copy is autographed and numbered 81 of a very very short run of 325 copies to its last page, the dust jacket is a painted The Shadow cover glossy wraparound, Supergraphics Unseen Shadows from 1978. Some slight print rubbing to the surface near the spine and right edge, the book cover itself under the dust jacket has some dirt and scuffs to it, faint print rubbing to corners as dust jacket is poly wrapped.

Brought to brilliant life via a massive and rewarding crowdfunded Kickstarter, legendary artist Ben Templesmith here with a treasure. Fire, blood & Vikings, Set in a time when kingdoms were won and lost by the sword, when power was measured by how many men would fight and die for you. When the old gods were still followed, before the Crusades brought the power of the church to all of Europe. Ben hopes this to be a multi-volume anthology series of dark ages viking stories — 78 Squid and Templesmith Blood Songs hardcover from January of 2017 autographed and numbered 778 of 1250. What a gem. Hardcover itself is in pristine condition.

Astounding, amazing and astonishing, an action-packed, intellectual, time-travel adventure, Aztec Ace stars Caza (AKA Ace) as he travels between the Aztec Empire and his home in the 23rd century.
