Spanish Colonial weapons crafted after the style of fighting knives made popular in the canary islands. Stiletto form with is rare for this type are most often diamond shaped blades designed to puncture with long needle like blades.

Straight Moro kris featuring a cockatoo hilt with original ratan hilt wrap in good condition. Single asang or blade clamp. Double-edge blade with visible signs of delamination. Cocatau hilt in fruit wood. The Moro people of the southern Philippines resisted Spanish colonialists who tried to eliminate their "heresy". The Moros allowed the Spanish to build forts in the Sultanate of Sulu in the last quarter of the century but Spanish control remained limited to military stations, garrisons and civilian settlements. Philippines, sickle used as a farm implement converted for use and a defensive weapon with a wide hooked blade and short handle tightly wrapped to the base of the tang. Size 33 1/2" L, blade 12 1/2" L

Barbed spear point, hardwood staff, braided rattan ferrules, iron spud socketed base. This sibat or spear is the perfect lightweight and deadly war weapon, the shaft can be used to block an enemy's weapon and then followed with a thrust into the throat or stomach. Size overall 62" L, spear 5" H

Philippines archipelago, Luzon, mountain peoples spear with curved upturned barbs at the base of the double edged spear head. The shaft with a bulbous end at the base of the spear tang and inlaid in mixed metals including copper and silver. Size 65" H, spear 13 1/2" H

Philippines Archipelago, early to mid 20th century spear or staff with figural seated Bulul figures in brass to the finial and one attached Bulul spoon in brass. The large with a triangular medallion tied through legs mounted on the wood shaft with tightly woven rattan wrapping. The shaft in wood with another decorative band of rattan and slightly tapering to an iron spike to the base. Size 58" L

Philippines Archipelago staff or spear, 20th century with dark patina to staff heavily incised in geometric patterns and zoomorphic like shapes resembling birds or turtles. The finial with a Bulul deity in the seated position with some encrustation from use. Size 52 1/2" L

Filipino spear made from wood and iron. The staff is unusually carved in a hourglass like shape, banded foot at the neck. Pointed barbed spear is untraditionally twisted at the neck, and a short but sharp pointed iron cap to base. Size 68" L, spear head 6 1/2" L

East Africa, likely Maasai. Finely beaded short sword or knife in dyed red leather scabbard with intricately beaded belt in a vibrantly colored Christian church design. Size 19" L, blade 12" L

Maasai beaded swords are traditional weapons adorned with intricate beadwork by the Maasai people of East Africa, primarily Kenya and Tanzania. These swords, also known as "rungu" or "simi" are symbolic of warriorhood and are used for ceremonial purposes rather than actual combat in contemporary Maasai culture. The Maasai are renowned for their beadwork which carries deep cultural significance, symbolizing social status, identity and personal expression. Warriors often adorned their weapons, including spears and swords, with intricate beadwork as a way to display their bravery and prowess.

South America, Argentina, 20th century. Sample procurement tool with slender blade that is deeply recessed to obtain core samples. Blade terminates to a sharp point and is stamped with the maker "Cabbone Hnos Ascifgat, San Lorenzo", includes a leather stitched scabbard. Size 16" H, blade 11 1/4" L

Civil War era cannon ball with wear commensurate with age and use. The particular style of cannon ball used in the civil war was the solid round shot – this is a solid iron ball that could travel several miles. They were designed to crush the target, rather than explode causing deadly shrapnel. Size 3" H

Very interesting massive antique European flintlock holster pistol circa 1740-1770. The .67 caliber smooth-bore 13" steel octagon-to-round barrel struck on the left flat of the breech with an unidentified proof mark. The barrel's touch hole has been restored with a brass bushing. Heavy all brass furniture. Stock is solid with incised decorations. The convex banana shaped lock is unmarked. Wood ram rod with a flat brass tip. This pistol may have seen action in the French & Indian War - American Revolutionary War and is in Very good size flintlock. Size overall 20 1/4" L

Good working order. Stock has wood restoration on the left side of the barrel tang and scratches/dings from years of handling and use. All steel parts have salt & pepper light pitting

Nice double barrel percussion pocket pistol with burl wood grip, all brass frame and marked barrels. Copper hammers. Stamped with Belgian proof marks (ELG *) to left side of the barrel. Double triggers. 19th century Size 7 1/2" L, barrel 3" L.

Nice Belgian pinfire revolver with proof marks to the cylinder (ELG * ) in an oval. The barrel proof marked with (2*). Barrel is octagonal and rifled with another illegible proof to the left side and a sight half the length. A pinfire cartridge, a small pin protrudes from one side of the case. When the pin is struck by the hammer of the firearm the pin strikes a primer inside the cartridge causing a small primary explosion. That ignites the black powder inside the base of the cartridge and propels the bullet/shot. Size 10" L, barrel 5 3/4" L

Left example an antique English or American leather covered powder flask circa. late 18th-early 19th century. 10" overall. The leather is in very good condition without any tears or splits. The gate spring is intact and functions as designed. One of the lower suspension ring absent.

Right example a antique large size powder flask of heavy brass construction, circa. early 19th century made by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield. The flask has one side with a raised embossed design of stags and game reading below "JAMES DIXON & SONS". The top of the flask is marked "JAMES DIXON & SONS", "IMPROVED PATENT". The body has some small dents, scratches and dings. A good example. 8" L

French cavalier helm hammered from two sheets of riveted steel with a central nasal guard. Modeled after the 16th and 17th century wide-brimmed style hat of like form. Cavalier hats were often felt and usually with a cocked up side or pinned brim. Cavaliers who supported English King Charles I during the Civil War were known for their extravagant dress. The wide brim is blade and upturned to one side with a rolled edge. The skull is hammered from a single sheet of iron with a concave top. Peets manages to bring the viewer into the snowy chase of three wolves against one bull elk, as he runs for the water no doubt exclaiming a loud wailing bugle to warn others around him of the dangerous pack. Size in frame 38 1/2" W x 26 1/2" H, sight 26 3/4" W x 17" H

The Dauphin of France is the title of the eldest son of a French king, and the heir apparent to the French crown, from 1350 to 1830. The word dauphin is French for dolphin, and was the hereditary title of the ruler of the Dauphine of Viennois. The title was established by the royal house of France through the purchase of lands known as the Dauphine in 1349 by the future Charles V. Extremely thin and finely glazed white ceramic bowl with translucent pierced decoration depicting ancient text or symbols around the body of the bowl. One spoon has a seated Bunney style Bulul rice deity, he appears to be smiling with incised lips and hollowed eyes, wearing a helmet or hat. The deity figure is also seated in similar fashion to the Bulul and wears an elaborate elongated headdress, with almond shaped eyes and incised lips. Both spoons have large concave bowls for serving and eating. Size of largest approximately 9" L

Large wood carved Bakunawa mask from the Philippines. Fantastically detailed wood carved mask with large sharp pointed teeth, devilish eyes, terminating spikes, and pierced wood work throughout. Bakunawa is a serpent-like dragon, believed to be the cause of earthquakes, eclipses, rain and wind. Size 24 3/4" L

Unusual Philippines Bulul statue with uncharacteristically smiling face of a standing Bulul figure. The nose in an uncharacteristically wide form with small slanted eyes and notched all over with primitive cutting techniques. Size 14 1/2" H

Uniquely carved in a much more human form that normal, the figure sits with knees to chest, and hand on his thighs. His mouth is open, with almond eyes, and bell shaped nose. The Bulul is covered in thick patina giving it the dark coloring throughout. Size 9 1/2" H

Beautiful cane woven salakot, which translates to native hat, hand made in the Philippines. Brass bead appliques surround the rim, with a metal hammered cap, with a dome leading to a metal ball and tip. Straw braided chin strap, with a 1903 Philippine USA ten centavos coin used as a washer for the metal tips. Size: 12 1/4" W

Rattan and bamboo tobacco carrier, with internal covered storage. Several arches act as a cage to keep the freshly harvested tobacco inside, the smaller pieces would be held inside. Size 11 1/2" W x 12 1/4" H

Arms outstretched and standing exposed, with light scaring to the face and belly. Beautifully incised details to the reverse of the dolls head. Yellow, white, blue and red beads decorate her neck and waist. Size 14 3/4" H

An incised vessel or container with threaded twine run through and a central circular carved section with geometric incised patterns. The interior with a rim and key hole slot has remnants of orange or red pigment possibly indicating use for storing pigments. Size 5 3/4" H

The Pende people are renowned for their artistic expression, especially their masks and sculptures. They create a variety of art used for rituals, ceremonies, and performances. These art is often characterized by bold geometric patterns, strong lines, and contrasting colors.

Hammered and incised triangles and wheat stocks, this hand carved granary door would be used to store their staple dietary grains of millet, sorghum and wheat. Granary doors were commonly adorned with impressive carvings including scenes of life, sun lizards and primordial beings, served to protect the entrance by making it sacred. Iron forged rain wand, with dozens of twisted iron serpent-like spikes. Heavy in hand, this piece would be staked into the ground to bring the rain and clear the area of severe drought, especially during crop season. Size 26 1/2" H, CUSTOM STAND NOT INCLUDED

20th century made, iron forged African rain wand. Several twisted iron rods in a narrow direct pointed direction, with diamond shaped tips to each. These forged-iron wands were utilized by the Mumuye shamans in rain-making ceremonies where they would place the bottom ends in small holes dug into the earth, and symbolically call on the gods for rain. Size 24 1/2" H, STAND NOT INCLUDED

Used in large transactions and known as the heaviest form of currency, this massive piece of iron is loosely shaped liked a shovel and often-times after the wedding would be forged into other functional object such as hoes. Commonly given to the father of the bride as wedding dowries, also used in large ceremonies. Size 29" L

Brilliantly hammered African brass and copper forowa vessels with lids. Cylindrical forowa with a conical lid made from sheets of both copper and brass, hammered designs throughout including birds, fish and leaves. Another cylindrical forowa with domed hammered lid has dots hammered throughout the lid with infinity banding to the base of the lid. Birds and fish hammered to the sides. Such forowa were used to store shea butter, a vegetable fat which used in foods, cosmetics and as a fuel for lamps. Size of largest 10" H x 7" W

Noted from the previous owner, a short history about Nok. "The katsina style emerged along with the Nok culture. Discovered through archeological expeditions in the 1940's, almost nothing is known about the society or it's customs other than the spectacular terra cotta sculptures they left behind. If not for these artifacts, their culture might have been completely forgotten.

Intimidation is sparked from this masterful print of a large bison as it charges straight towards the viewer. Trampling over rocks and desert with ease, this incredible statement piece makes the viewer actually stop and wonder "what would I do?" Size in frame 29 1/4" H x 25 1/4" W, sight 19" H x 15 1/4" W. Piece is signed and dated bottom right, series number 239/500 and additional signature bottom left.

Overall good condition, the piece is well preserved. Frame has minor scratches.

Manzanilla in 2015 acquired the classic Aurora brand with 19th century solera Pedro Romero. The woman pictured here is a mock up of the 1904 portrait of Aurora Ambrosse Lacave, a pioneering female executive in the sherry trade, produced great Manzanilla in named in her honour. Two lovely crafted art deco zoomorphic masks, each with large bird beaks and elaborate details. The light blue mask with a tall feathered headdress, and elongated almost tentacle like ears. Dark brown mask with serpents acting as a headdress and depicting ear spools. Size of tallest 20" H

The second and largest of a more heavily stippled design to mimic vegetation and a wide double spout adorned with ape grasping to either spout at the termination of is handles. 7.75" H x 7.5" W largest

Lovely oil on glass mixed media by Creation Designs trade marked, and signed. With an obscure scene the viewer can interpret their own meaning behind the piece. Colors ranging from browns, blues, pinks and gold leave an impression of beaches and waves crashing in from the ocean. Size in frame 20 1/8"H x 24 1/4" W
