The Jones Collection "Premier"
This auction is exciting as it has some of the most treasured Scottie dog collectables from Van and Margie Jones who were known to collect the most desirable and unique porcelains from the famous porcelain houses of Europe. This auction also includes a few outstanding bronze pieces and artwork. Many did not know the vast expanse and variety of exceptional pieces in their collection. Now is your chance to get a rare and hard to find addition to your Scotti collection!
“The Jones Collection” is presented for auction by the collaborative team effort of Linda Bassett, Wayne Kompare, Kathy & Marty Rose and Margie's' Niece Cathy Lawhorn.
For many years Van and Margie Jones independently ran “STARS”, Scottish Terrier Area Rescue Service in the Cincinnati, Ohio region. The healthy and family-friendly Scotties were lovingly placed in carefully vetted forever homes; the unadoptable elderly and those with physical or social adjustment issues became part of the Jones family in their own home.
Their love of Scotties extended to avidly collecting all things Scottie, from tchotchkes to the finest bronzes and porcelain figurines. They were founding members of the original “Wee Scots” Scottie dog memorabilia collectors’ group and attended every annual convention held plus those held by successor organizers over the 38-year history of the national gatherings. They worked tirelessly to ensure not just the fun at the conventions but the educational aspects by willingly sharing their knowledge of Scottie collectibles, the origin, artists, manufacturers, and production methods.
For years Van cornered the top-end Scottie collectible market in Cincinnati. He had developed great rapport with the antique dealers and the best auction houses. Van was very generous in not only his knowledge of the many collectibles but he would often acquire duplicates or triplicates just so he could pass them on to a fellow Scottie collector. His love for his Scotties and Scottie friends was endless.
Van passed away in 2021 and now Margie knows it is time to put their wonderful collection back out into the Scottie collecting world.

REGISTRATION & IDENTIFICATION: At the time of registration, we collect information about you to verify who you are before you can bid. We collect credit card information to ensure that you are a qualified buyer. All bidders must be of legal age to bid.
PAYING FOR YOUR PURCHASES: There is no cost to register for an auction. Your credit card will not be charged for your winning lot. Our payment process is through PayPal and you will receive detailed payment information via email in a final invoice to include the Buyer’s Premium, Shipping/Handling Charges and Cincinnati, Ohio Sales Tax.
BUYERS PREMIUM: A 12% buyer's premium is in effect for this auction regardless of method of payment.
REVIEWING YOUR BIDS: During an auction you can check the status of your bids at any time. Note that no bids can be withdrawn after the auction for any reason. You can choose to be notified by e-mail during the auction if you have been outbid. Please note that outbid notifications are NOT sent out during the last two hours of the sale.
WINNING NOTIFICATION & INVOICING: All winning bidders will receive an e-mail with an attached invoice from TheJonesCollection1@gmail.com within 3 days of the auction close. If you do not receive an email with your invoice from us, please check your Spam email folder. If you'd like to know whether you won a lot at the close of the auction, check your "bidder history" -- if it says "you will be notified" that means you are the high bidder on the lot. If you are not the high bidder, it will say "you have been outbid."
SHIPPING: There is a $5 Shipping/Handling Charge on all boxes shipped per bidder. We will combine shipping when possible. We pack and ship using either the USPS or UPS depending upon pricing and convenience at the time of shipping. You will pay all shipping costs to include any applicable insurance. Keep in mind that the size, weight, shape and degree of fragility determine the shipping weight and cost. All items will be packed to the best of ability.

CONDITIONS OF ITEMS SOLD & OUR ONLINE CATALOGUE: Our best efforts are made to represent all items accurately in descriptions and photographs, all descriptions are believed accurate but not warrantied; however, all items are ultimately sold on an 'as is, where is' basis, with all faults. ADDITIONS & DELETIONS: We reserve the right to remove and/or add lots and/or items to the sale at any point during the auction.
RESERVE: Seldom are items sold with Reserve. If an item is being sold with a reserve, it will be clearly marked and identified. For items sold with a 'reserve', you will be required to pay a minimum amount in order to win the item.
AUCTION RECORDS: In the unlikely event of a dispute, you agree to accept as true the information that we have in our records.

BIDDING STRATEGY: We recommend that all bidders enter their maximum bid when placing a bid online. This does not mean you will have to pay the amount you bid; you only pay one bid more than the next highest bid, and only up to your maximum bid. The software system will play out the bids as you would at a live auction and only uses the funds required to beat out the under-bidder at the prescribed bid increment. You may withdraw your consent at any time with notification. Your privacy is important to us -- your email address will not be shared with any other party.
