Helgesen,Captain Henry Nelson Helgesen, of Wilmington, died June 12, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY on November 1, 1925, the son of the late Captain Nels Helgesen, of the National Maritime Hall of Fame, and the late Helene Sorhaug Helgesen. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Marianne Nyman Helgesen. They had met in New York City and were married in 1959. They were frequent visitors to both Norway and Sweden and traveled extensively throughout the world during their beautiful marriage of 54 years donna klein ncal 8190
