Description
Own a piece of history as we auction off items from the historic Smith Hospital located in Paris, Arkansas.These items were donated by the Smith family. All proceeds from the sale price of this auction will go towards the restoration of the Smith Hospital building. The total projected project cost is approximately $6 million. In November of 2023, the Smith Hospital Association was awarded $3.8 million in grant funding from the Arkansas Department of Commerce to be used to revitalize the historic building. Phase one of the project will cover basic repairs to the building and restoration of the first floor. Smith Hospital is a former medical facility in Paris, Arkansas, located at the northern end of Express Street. Built in 1913 and enlarged in 1926, it was the first hospital in Logan County. It consists of an original two-story brick building, to which a three-story annex was added in 1926. Its interior finishes reflect alterations made in 1926. It served as the local hospital until 1971 and remained a medical clinic for several years after. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. All items are being sold for their historical and sentimental value and not for any medical purposes.
A 10% buyer's premium will be charged on all items unless otherwise noted. Buyers are responsible for pickup of all merchandise won. All items sold as is, whereis with no warranty or guarantee. Items can also be picked up in Paris, AR. Schedule for Paris pickup are TBA No refunds or charge backs on cc allowed. The credit card used to register will be charged after the auction ends unles the buyer notifies the auction company that they want to pay at pickup and/or by a different method. Other methods of payment accepted: CashApp, Venmo, cash, Shipping availability will be determined by item. A handling fee of $5 will be applied by box shipped, not item. Buyer will be responsible for all shipping and handling fees. Credit card purchases will be subject to 4% fee. All items are sold for their historical and sentimental value and not for medical purposes.
