There is a nice mix of 9 letters with one letter referencing and including a signed photo of Neil Armstrong (first man to walk on the moon, July 20, 1969). These letters date back to the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs and reference key astronauts during that period. Each letter is important individually and are an excellent historic collection as a group. Perfect to be framed. Letters are in very good condition. Postage Stamps with Face Value of just over $300. 23 different types. There are Adhesive and Gummed. In addition, there are envelopes filled with foreign stamps and US and there are also many, many mint blocks and of course the MNH(Mint Never Hinged) type stamps. "Mint never hinged" (MNH) is a term used to describe a stamp that is unused, has its original gum, and has never been mounted with a hinge. A stamp hinge is a small, transparent piece of paper with gum on one side that is used to attach a stamp to a page. The gum on the stamp's back is intended to attach it to a letter or package when moistened. Stamps in mint never hinged condition are highly valued and can sell for a premium. The original gum on a stamp is best when it's in the same condition it was in when it left the post office. Applying a hinge can remove the stamp's original adhesive, making it less valuable. The term "mint never hinged" was developed to reassure buyers that the stamp hasn't been tampered with. The practice of paying extra for "never hinged" stamps began with people who didn't know much about stamps and wanted to avoid buying damaged or repaired stamps. Collectors who prefer unhinged stamps may use hingeless mounts, which are pocket-like or sleeve-like. Mounts protect stamps without damaging the gum and provide a clear face to show off the collection. This is part number SP-50057. Original part number was 440814. Studebaker and Packard car companies merged together in October 1954. These spinner knobs were used on those steering wheels, you put your hand on the knob and turned the steering wheel with the knob to make turning much easier. You had to hold on tight and if your hand slipped of and the wheels turned on the front of the car, the steering wheel would spin and the knob would hit you multiple times, hence the ‘suicide’ name. Knob is complete with rings and screws. The clear plastic top has surface wear but you still see the eagle clearly. Measures 2.5” tall. - Accessory switch. When an aftermarket item was added to your car, you also needed to add an on/off switch you could add to your dash. This aftermarket switch comes in original box (missing top panel). Together they measure 14.5” tall and 5.5” in diameter excluding handles. - Aluminum gravy boat with separate tray. In good used condition. Vintage 1¢/ 5¢ Northwestern 36 Deluxe taller globe gumball machine. Has Northwestern metal tag on side of base. Has original decal on globe that identifies 1¢ / 5¢ coin slots below. For one penny the handle turns once. For one nickel the handle turns appropriately for a larger portion. The original metal framed sign on this machine identifies it as distributing pistachio nuts. The bottom doors are for merchandise and coin return. Both types of coins were tested and both the nickel and the penny worked in the mechanism. Machine is in good condition with newer green paint. Some of the plating has light pitting. Comes with a key to unlock the front panel to access coins. There is a lock on the top to add product. The same key was tested on this lock and did not go in all the way. May need new lock or lock may just need to be cleaned. Top is currently unlocked so product may still be added as is. A great combination of automotive collectables that were either on and American 1940s-50s cars or still NOS (New Old Stock, some in still in original boxes). Most of these lights can still be used for their original purpose. However, these would be great additions to the garage or man cave by converting the lights to battery or electric and have them light up to make your garage stand out. Vintage Lot of 3 1991 Jack Black Navjo pottery religious figures consisting of a large Jesus 10.5”H, smaller Jesus 5.5”H and mother & child 3.5”H. Arizona artist, Jack Black, lived and worked in Tucson. Born in Galveston, Texas, he attended the Institute of Design in Chicago. Jack spent 20 years creating sculptures for his own pleasure before opening his first studio in Sedona, Arizona in 1984. Jack Black was a well regarded Native American artist and a member of the Navjo tribe. When Black died in 2002, all of his potters molds were destroyed, making his existing works more rare & valuable. Vintage lot of 2 Airline Bakelite AM compact tube radios. This lot includes radios using the same case but are pained/non-painted with different model numbers. Nice compact size makes for a great display. They include the following radios: - Airline Model No. 74BR-1502B radio. Still has metal cover in back in addition to Model tag on back and model information tag on the base. This model is for the ivory radio and verifies that this is that radio. Radio was plugged in and tested. Radio did tune in a station and came in clearly. The radio knobs work correctly. Cord is in good condition. Radio has a broken piece in the lower back end that is not easily seen. Ivory pint has some chipping. Handle on top of radio is unpainted Bakelite and is cracked.
