Session 7 - Mimbres and Salado Advocational Archeologists Richard “Red” and Virginia Ellison excavated and documented dozens of sites in the Mimbres Valley and Upper Gila regions of Southwestern New Mexico, from the 1930’s -1970’s. Their collection spans artifacts from multiple time periods, in the Mogollon area. The vast majority of artifacts have documented provenance. The Ellison’s last project was a large Salado site they owned and named “Kwilleylekia” , in the Cliff, New Mexico area. Geyer’s Auction and Appraisal is proud to be offering this lifetime collection. Thousands of artifacts consisting of beautiful ceramics, stone tools, jewelry, effigies, field notes and photos from the early Mimbres to the Salado Cultures will be sold to the highest bidder. The collection will be offered in multiple auctions throughout the year.
