We removed the pad in order to examine the bottom, and you will see glue residue around the bottom of the base. Under black light, this residue on the base appears as a yellowish color. Under black light, this same yellowish color is visible on the front and back of the figure. Under black light, there is no evidence of a repair or crack on the inside or on the outside. We are assuming that the glue that was used to adhere the pad to the base was accidentally smeared on the dog as well. We cannot be sure of this, and we have made no attempt to remove anything. Possibly, it was something applied to cover up a glaze deficiency; but we don't think so. Pictures under black light are shown.
