This Train Collection comes from a Local Collector who has recently passed. Marathon Auction Sales was contacted to execute the dispersal of this collection. Many of these trains are still in their original boxes. Others were removed to display on the shelves of the collector’s office and bedroom. He loved his trains so much that he placed them in his work space so he could admire them and in his bedroom. They were the last thing he saw at night before he fell to sleep and the first thing he saw in the morning when he awakened. Due to being displayed, some are a little dusty and could use a light brushing. The boxes for these trains that had been removed for viewing were stored away for safe keeping. Not really being a train fellow, I have been able to match up several of these boxes to the trains for them to the best of my ability. An Interesting thing I noted about this collection is that I doubt many of them were ever run on a track. I found no set up for this anywhere in the home. I feel he collected them for their detailed beauty etc. This is a very nice collection of Lionel, Williams etc., trains for your bidding pleasure. Also offered in this sale will be several nice wood working molding planes and other tools, along with a very nice original pine carpenters Work Bench with Vise. Included as well is a nice Shop Smith with some accessories and more. Be Watching for an Announcement of my January OnLine Only Country Americana Auction w/ a lot of Great Advertising and Country Furniture and Accessories. This will be one of our best.
