By registering, bidding, and/or placing payment information on file, you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to all terms below.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement.
1. Buyer’s Responsibility
All bids are binding. Placing a bid constitutes a legal obligation to purchase the item(s) if you are the winning bidder.
It is the buyer’s responsibility to review all item descriptions, photos, and terms prior to bidding. Items are sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties, guarantees, refunds, or returns.
Failure to read or understand these terms does not relieve the buyer of responsibility.
2. Payment, Invoicing & Authorization
Payment is required within 48 hours of auction close unless prior arrangements are made in writing.
Invoices are generated as soon as possible. Auctions involving multiple items, large quantities, or oversized shipments may require additional time to calculate shipping and finalize invoices. By bidding, the buyer agrees to this processing timeframe.
Automatic Card Processing
By registering and bidding, the buyer authorizes Honesty Comics & Collectibles to automatically process payment once shipping and applicable fees are added to the invoice.
All cards on file will be charged once the invoice is finalized.
Invoices Exceeding $5,000
If an invoice exceeds $5,000, the buyer must contact us directly to coordinate payment.
If no contact is made within 48 hours of invoice issuance, the buyer explicitly authorizes Honesty Comics & Collectibles to charge the card on file for the full balance.
By bidding, the buyer:
• Authorizes all charges related to winning bids, buyer’s premium, taxes, shipping, and handling
• Waives any claim that such charges were “unauthorized”
Unpaid, delayed, or disputed invoices may result in:
• Immediate suspension from future auctions
• Permanent bidding bans
• Collection actions where applicable
3. Shipping & Local Pickup (Strict Policy)
All items will be shipped.
Local pickup is NOT available unless explicitly agreed upon in writing immediately upon auction close and before payment is processed.
Any pickup requests made after payment has been processed will not be honored. Items will be shipped and the buyer will be responsible for all shipping charges.
4. Shipping & Handling (Non-Negotiable)
U.S. Shipping Only – No Exceptions
Honesty Comics & Collectibles ships to U.S. addresses only.
We do NOT ship to Canada or internationally under any circumstances.
By bidding, the buyer confirms they have a valid U.S. shipping address.
Orders with non-U.S. shipping addresses will be canceled and may result in bidding suspension.
Shipping & handling charges are calculated exclusively by Honesty Comics & Collectibles and are based on:
• Item weight
• Box dimensions
• Quantity of items
• Number of boxes required for safe shipment
• Required protective packaging and materials
Handling fees reflect the time, labor, and operational costs associated with fulfilling auction orders, including but not limited to:
• Order processing and preparation
• Professional packing to ensure safe transit
• Use of protective materials and supplies
• Label creation, documentation, and logistics coordination
• Transportation of packages to the carrier and shipment processing
Shipping & handling charges are not limited to carrier postage alone and may exceed the carrier’s base shipping rate.
Shipping calculations are final and non-negotiable. Buyers may not:
• Provide their own shipping labels
• Dictate carriers or shipping methods
• Dispute shipping or handling charges after payment
Shipping & handling charges are non-refundable once items have shipped.
4.1 Risk of Loss & Carrier Responsibility
Once items are transferred to the shipping carrier, risk of loss transfers to the buyer.
Honesty Comics & Collectibles assumes no liability for:
• Carrier delays
• Lost packages
• Damaged shipments
• Misdelivery or carrier-related errors
Carrier tracking updates, delivery scans, and/or signature confirmation constitute proof of shipment and delivery.
Insurance is optional unless otherwise stated. If insurance is declined, the buyer assumes full responsibility for loss or damage during transit.
5. Buyer’s Premium & Sales Tax
A 23% buyer’s premium will be added to all invoices.
Sales tax will be added as required by law for South Dakota Residents
Tax-exempt buyers in the state of South Dakota must provide valid documentation immediately upon auction close. Failure to do so will result in tax being charged with no retroactive adjustments.
6. Condition, Authenticity & Consignment Disclosure
Honesty Comics & Collectibles acts solely as a consignment seller on behalf of third-party consignors.
All descriptions, images, grading opinions, and authenticity statements are provided to the best of our ability based on information available at the time of listing.
We make no guarantees or warranties, express or implied, regarding:
• Authenticity
• Originality
• Condition
• Completeness
• Grading outcomes
• Attribution or provenance
Unless explicitly stated in writing, items are not guaranteed authentic and are sold as-is based on consignor representations.
Post-sale grading opinions, authentication results, or differences of opinion do not constitute grounds for refunds, disputes, or chargebacks.
7. Chargebacks, Disputes & Carrier Liability (Strict Enforcement)
By bidding and submitting payment information, the buyer expressly acknowledges and agrees that:
• All charges are authorized and valid
• The buyer assumes all carrier-related risk once items are shipped
The buyer agrees not to seek reimbursement, chargebacks, or payment reversals from Honesty Comics & Collectibles for:
• Carrier delays, loss, or damage
• Packages marked as delivered by the carrier
• Shipping or handling costs
• Automatically processed payments
• Invoice totals resulting from winning bids
• Item condition or authenticity disclosures made prior to bidding
Carrier-related claims must be pursued directly with the carrier or shipping insurer.
Any chargeback filed for reasons disclosed and agreed to in these terms constitutes a breach of contract.
Honesty Comics & Collectibles reserves the right to:
• Contest all chargebacks with full documentation
• Permanently ban the buyer
• Recover chargeback fees, losses, and administrative costs to the fullest extent permitted by law
8. Disputes
Honesty Comics & Collectibles reserves the sole right to:
• Refuse bids or buyers
• Cancel or reopen auctions
• Resolve disputes at our discretion
All decisions are final.
9. Auction Platform Rules
All auctions are hosted on HiBid. Buyers are subject to both these terms and HiBid’s terms and conditions.
