Cal. Over bbl. 38/ Under bbl. 62 with straight rifling. NSN. Bbl. 30 1/2" octagon. Top flat of bbl. marked "A. Parker / Ludlow, VT". "Vermont's Gunsmiths & Gunmakers to 1900" by Harry Phillips & Terry Tyler lists the following information about Amasa Parker: "Born: April 7, 1801, Windsor, VT / Died February 9, 1862, Ludlow, VT / Gunsmith, Gunmaker". Engraved back action locks marked "William Read / Boston". Single trigger. Elevator adjustable sporting rear sight with brass blade front sight. Iron bbl. pipes mounted on sides between octagon bbls. Perch belly stock of fancy walnut with cheekpiece. German silver furniture consisting of lg. patchbox on right side, sm. patchbox on left side cheekpiece, crescent butt & trigger guard. CONDITION: metal surfaces have even heavy patina. Stock has lg. chip missing on left side of trigger tang with some handling marks. Left hammer is a replacement. Good mechanics. Ramrods are not present. Bores have good rifling with some light pitting. (01-6001/DS). ANTIQUE. $1250-1750.
