Description
Poetic compilation, Qâjâr Iran, 19th century and later Manuscript on paper of 8 lines per page in Nasta'liq Persian in black ink, the titles in red ink, several of which mention the "seas of poetry" (Bahr al-Khafîf, Bahr al-Ramal,... ). The first double-page illuminated in gold and polychrome: a sarlow frontispiece decorated with lambrequin garnished with flowers surmounts two cartridges, one of which with a gold background containing the Bismillah then follows the text in cloudy reserves with plant decorations on a background Golden. Several owners' stamps on the first page including an Iranian customs stamp for export shown on the last page. Two illustrations painted in gouache, an illumination and some marginal notes added later. Binding in black leather edged with a strip of brown leather. In a cardboard box covered with green percaline. Binding dimensions: 21.5 x 13.5 cm
