Lead Civil War Period Confederate Mixed Lot
Description
Civil War confederate period grey kepi hat made by The Depot Shepherdstown in Western Virginia. The size is large but it fits like a medium. Gray Felt with black leather and gold colored CSA buttons on either side and brass colored designation and bugle on top. Period Leather Company from P.R. Michigan black soft leather belt with brass accents. Approximately 42" long and 1.75" wide. Maker stamped on buckle flap and gold colored eagle with shield belt buckle. Attached to two hook straps approximately 16" and 11" long. Two brass colored belt buckles. U.S. Cavalry crossed swords on one buckle with no maker mark stamps. Other US buckle is made of solid brass and was made in China. Two Civil War brass colored hat insignia regiment pin brooches. One is the bugle horn and the other is crossed swords. Wooden whistle approximately 4" long with eagle with shield gold colored medallion and leather strap. Lithographs titled " Bombardment and Capture of Forts Walker and Beauregard in Port Royal, S.C." (1861), " Death of Col. Baker" (1862) and "Charge on Fort Donelson" (1862). Each are approximately 5.5" by 9" and have some foxing. Gen. Ulysses Grant Portrait Postcard from the Leib Image Archives. Glass paperweight portrait of Joshua Chamberlain, former governor of Maine. Includes Stuarts Horse Artillery plastic toys set about 0.5" tall.
