Lead Important "Gorham" Sterling "Medallion" Water Set
Description
Important & Unique Antique "Gorham" Sterling Silver "Medallion" Water Set - Pitcher and two goblets - The Pitcher features a 3 dimensional figure of a reclining nude woman holding a goblet in the air adorning the handle above an exaggerated, shaped rim & spout which sits atop a neck set with four medallions (each with the prpfile portrait of a different Greek Soldier) and an incised decoration that features a Vintage design with Grapes, Vines and Leaves - The base of the Pitcher is decorated with an aesthetic design that resembles rolling waves - It is engraved "George S. Haverling - From Duncan, George, John & Hebe - As an expression of their gratitude for his kind offices to their father - The Late Hon. John Magee - May 1868" - The Pitcher is very large and holds 96 ounces (12 cups) of liquid (wine or water) - The matching balloon shaped Goblets each feature two profile medallions in relief (each different subjects) on an engraved band with Grape Bunches, Vines and Leaves - The Goblets are also engraved with the name "George S. Haverling" - The large Goblets each hold 12 ounces (1 1/2 cups) of liquid - Each piece remains in very nice condition with heavy tarnish and gentle wear - The pitcher measures 11 1/2 inches tall by 9 1/2 inches from spout to handle by 5 3/4 inches in circumference at the body - The Pitcher weighs 43.30 troy ounces - The Goblets measure 7 1/8 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches in diameter and have a total weight of 15.9 troy ounces (the three pieces have a combined weight of an incredible 59.2 troy ounces!) NOTE: "George S. Haverling" was the director of the "Blossburg and Corning Railroad" which was owned by "John Magee". Purchaser agrees the items sold in this auction are sold AS IS and WHERE IS with no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied. Buyers are urged to inspect goods before bidding. Each item is the sole responsibility of the purchaser from the moment the auctioneer declares the item sold. All sales are final. All purchases must be paid for today, regardless of when they are removed unless arrangements are made with Estate Consultants. Those who claim tax exempt, certify that the number provided is valid and on file. TAKE NOTE : All auction sales are final. Although Estate Consultants endeavor to inform bidders regarding all aspects of the items we sell it is incumbent upon the bidder to ascertain, to their satisfaction, the authenticity, condition, shipping / transportation costs or any other factors that may influence their bid BEFORE bidding . By bidding you are agreeing to the terms of this auction. Your bid is to be considered a binding legal agreement. All payment for purchases MUST be made within 3 days of the conclusion of the auction unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing by the bidder and Estate Consultants. Those items that remain unpaid after 5 days will be placed in storage with a storage fee of $20.00 per day being levied upon the buyer. Those items that remain in storage more than 10 days will be considered forfeit . The cost of the item and all storage fees will be the responsibility of the buyer of record to pay. After 5 days from the forfeiture any remaining unpaid balance will be turned over to a collection agency.

Appointments for pick ups may be made immediately following the auction (when the last item sells) on a first come-first served basis. Successful buyers may pick up items starting on Saturday morning November 30th by appointment only. Pick ups must be made between Saturday November 30th to Sunday December 8th (If more time is needed please call Tim at 315-727-6115 to make arrangements for an extention). Items to be shipped will be picked up by the shipping service beginning on Wednesday December 4th. Although Estate Consultants is not a shipping company we will gladly help with shipping arrangements. The shipper that Estate Consultants reccomends is the UPS Store in Skneateles, NY. to handle shipping quotes / arrangements . They are reasonably priced, professional and safe. They will be on site on Wednesday March 1st following the auction.
