Bidder Terms & Conditions for Plain City Auction Internet Premium: A 15% internet premium will be applied to all winning bids. Participation Requirements: Valid Credit Card: To participate in bidding, a valid credit card is required for approval. Online Auctions Sales Tax Calculation: Sales tax will be automatically computed during checkout based on various factors including the state, city, and county jurisdiction requirements, as well as the shipping address, shipping origin, and category of the purchased item. Payment Options: Accepted payment options include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Payment Instructions: All cards will be charged for won items within 24 hours of the conclusion of the auction. Wire Transfer Requirement: For out-of-state purchases totaling $200.00 or more, or for all purchases of sterling and gold jewelry, a wire transfer may be required. Plain City Auction reserves the right to request a wire transfer for any transaction. Sales Tax Exemption: Buyers with a Tax ID number registered with Plain City Auction through HiBid may be exempt from sales tax. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure their Tax ID number is provided during registration. Payment Processing and Declined Cards: Credit cards registered with HiBid at the time of auction registration will be charged within 24 hours following the auction for total purchases, excluding shipping. Plain City Auction does accept cash in-person, PayPal, or any alternative forms of payment for online only auctions. Any cards declined for any reason will incur a $30.00 fee. Shipping Instructions: For items marked “Shipping”, the winning bidder must call before the auction pickup time is concluded to request their items to be shipped. Please note that shipping charges will be billed separately using the card registered to the auction. For shipments of gold and silver, or any invoice totaling $200 or more, the auctioneer retains the right to require a signature upon delivery. Please note that there is a charge for this and it will be added to the buyer’s shipping charges. The shipping address on file must match the address on the credit card used or your items will not be shipped. If successful bidders do not contact the auctioneer to request shipping prior to the closing of the pickup time, items will be considered abandoned and will be resold. No refund will be given to the bidder that previously won the item. Item Removal and Abandonment: Buyers are responsible for the removal of purchased items during the designated pickup times. Failure to pick up items or arrange shipping by the specified removal date may result in forfeiture of the items and additional fees. Plain City Auction will not be liable for any items left beyond during the removal period. If successful bidders do not request shipping prior to the closing of the pickup time or pick up their items in person, items will be considered abandoned and will be resold. No refund will be given to the bidder that previously won the item. Bidder Agreement: By registering for the auction, all bidders agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this document and any accompanying addenda. It is the bidder's responsibility to thoroughly review and understand these terms before participating in the auction. Property Condition and Inspection: All items are sold as-is, and all sales are final. Bidders are encouraged to inspect items thoroughly before bidding. Plain City Auction will not be held responsible for inaccuracies in item descriptions or any errors or omissions. Warranties/Representations: All items are sold "AS IS, WHERE IS" with all faults. Plain City Auction nor the consignor make any warranties or representations of any kind or nature with respect to merchantability, fitness, property, value nor of any other kind, express or implied. All items are available for your examination before the sale. Written and oral descriptions are our opinions and should in no way be construed as a guarantee of any kind as to authenticity, age, condition, materials, or any other feature of items being sold. Plain City Auction attempts to catalog every lot correctly and will attempt to point out any defects but will not be responsible or liable for the correctness of the catalog or other descriptions of the lot including genuineness, attribution, provenance, authenticity, authorship, completeness, condition of property or estimate of value. Antiques, by the very nature of their age, have wear that reflects their years of use. As a result, honest wear earned from use is to be expected and is sometimes the proof that an item is an antique. Buyers who would like to know the fine points regarding condition should call or email us. By placing a bid, either in person, by phone, absentee or via the Internet, you signify that you have examined the items as fully as you desire to or that you have chosen not to examine them. We do not give refunds! All sales are final! Withdrawal of Lots: Plain City Auction reserves the right to withdraw any lot at any time before the auction without liability. Reserves/Minimum Bids: Plain City Auction reserves the right to establish a stated minimum bid, the right to reject or accept any or all bids, or the right to withdraw items from the auction before completion of the auction. The seller of the property may not withdraw lots for any reason. Risk of Injury: Bidders acknowledge and accept the potential risks associated with participating in an auction and agree to do so at their own risk. PCA is not liable for any injuries or damages that may occur during pickup or removal of items. Removal of Items: Items may only be removed from the auction site once full payment has been made. Buyers are responsible for the packaging, removal, and transportation of purchased items. Failure to remove items during the designated pickup times may result in abandonment of the items and forfeiture of funds. Auctioneer and Staff: Consigners are not allowed to bid on their own items under any circumstances. The auctioneer and the staff are permitted to bid on items for absentee bidders and themselves.
