Victoria District Masons Charity Auction In Support of Autism Freemasonry is worldwide fraternal organization that traces its origin to the stonemasons guilds of the 13th century. Our teachings and practices help encourage and develop men of character to strengthen their faith and enhance family life and community involvement to make the world a better place for all. Charity is a core pillar of our foundation. Members are charged with the duty of helping those in need if within their means to do so. The Masonic Foundation of Ontario supports Blood Donation, Child identification program, kids camps and research for Cancer and Autism, to name just a few. Our lodges are marked with the familiar square and compass and can be found in many small towns through out Ontario. This year our local (district) charity is in support of Autism. We hope your will find our donation items useful, and we thank you for your support of this worth cause. Burgomaster, District Deputy Grand Master - Victoria District T.H.R.I.L T.H.R.I.L. is a not-for-profit, registered charity that aims to improve the quality of life for mentally and physically challenged children, youth and adults by providing therapy on horseback by certified instructors, with the help of amazing well-trained volunteers. Riders experience the joy and thrill of being on a trained therapy horse, while working on their balance, strength, coordination, spatial awareness and improving their self-confidence, self-esteem, mental processing and communication and socialization skills. T.H.R.I.L.'s aim is to provide quality, certified, insured, therapy horseback riding at minimal cost to the participants, with the assistance of donations and support from the local community. Therapeutic riding has been recognized for decades as a unique therapy activity that offers a multitude of benefits not only to the riders but to the volunteers that assist them. It can take up to four volunteers to enable one person to ride. The amazing and often surprising benefits and improvements to the riders that are witnessed by the volunteers, parents and various community program's support workers, create an incredible feeling of success and well-being for all. COVID 19 has not only hindered the ability to run some of our riding sessions for our special needs riders, it has made it difficult to fundraise to keep our costs affordable. With our therapy riding program back into providing its valuable services, our hope is that this auction will aid to replace lost income and allow us to add more riders from our waiting list to experience the amazing experience.
