Liz Hess, Framed original acrylic on canvas 44" x 56" December 2017 “The King Has Come” This painting is the second original work commissioned by Global Disciples, following the 2016 work, “King of Kings” which generated enthusiastic interest from around the world. It also provided Liz Hess with an invitation to visit and paint in Israel. Twice during her recent trip to Israel, three different people stopped Liz to pray for her, telling her the same message, that God would be "downloading" a specific image which she was to paint when she returned home. While in Jerusalem, this image appeared before Liz three different times within a 15 hour period, once during the evening, once in the middle of the night when she woke up with a start, seeing the image before her, and once the next day while sitting at a cafe drinking coffee. Back at home, Liz locked herself away in her studio to paint, and while applying the golds on the crown the title suddenly appeared as clearly as the image had in Jerusalem, "The King Has Come". This new work is joyous outpouring of worship and praise to Jesus, the King, as it portrays people of many nations and the heavenly hosts, rejoicing and celebrating together around a traditional Jewishhuppah, in the presence of the Lion of Judah, and the Lamb of God. Conditions of Sale All proceeds from the auction of this original Liz Hess painting will be donated to the annual fund of Global Disciples, a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with a mission to reach the world’s least-reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Online pre-bidding will begin December 1st at 6 p.m. and will conclude Wednesday, December 20 at 6 p.m. when the auction moves to live bidding both on-line and at the Liz Hess Gallery, 140 North Prince Street, Lancaster, PA. where it will be webcast. Payment must be made by December 31, 2017 in the form of check or cash, and must be complete before pick-up. The winning bidder will receive an acknowledgement of tax-deductible gift for the amount of auction proceeds which exceeds the fair market value of the painting. The good faith fair market value of this painting has been set by the artist at $7,000. Bidding increments: Starting bid for the painting is set at the fair market value of the painting of $7,000. Bidding increments are set at $500. You may set an initial bid, and a high bid at the time of registration.
