Description
Welcome to the J. M. Dooley Quality US Stamp Auction plus select Worldwide stamps, covers and collections! The Dooley collection was built with an eye for quality, consistently improving condition and centering over time and obtaining certifications for the scarcer items. An absolutely gorgeous run of stamps with many exceptional stamps including re-issues of the 1869 pictorials (Mint sound 90c with cert), Columbians Mint, Trans-Miss Mint (an absolutely stunning $2 sound with cert), dozens of certified coil pairs, some scarce booklets and panes (#498f, Savings Stamps booklets, etc), strong runs of nearly all back of the book (Mint $2 & $10 State Dept, Zeppelins, a spectacular #E4, and much more. Following are select worldwide stamps, covers and collections plus some coins. With coverage for most areas, the strength is in British Commonwealth early 20th century sets, China (great ROC and PRC sets and collections including regional issues), Germany (gorgeous runs of Colonies and virtually all areas), France and area (many Imperfs and scarce items), Tannu Tuva (seldom seen sets, exquisite covers and Imperf rarities), and Turkey to name a few. Great stamps abound - bid online, by mail, phone, email or come in person to the NAPEX stamp show for the live auction at 6:30PM in the Tyson's corner Hilton in McLean, VA. Viewing is available in our offices through Tuesday June 6th; viewing at NAPEX stamp show (McLean, VA at Hilton) will be available June 9th and 10th.
Bidding 1. By placing a bid you accept the terms of sale 2. Every lot shall be bid upon as numbered, any lot may be withdrawn at any time 3. Lots are sold at one advance over the second highest bid 4. All lots are sold for the hammer price plus a 15% buyer's commission 5. All bids will be entered as absentee bids for the live public auction where bidding starts at one advance over the second highest absentee bid Payment 1. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice and will be shipped upon payment 2. Shipping will be by US Postal Service at cost + $2.00 handling per package 3. Successful bidders agree to pay for their purchases. No credit is extended without prior agreement and overdue accounts will be charged 2% per month interest after 30 days. 4. Virginia residents and in-person bidders must pay 5.3% state sales tax Returns 1. Any lot described in error can be returned for a full refund if we are notified in writing via mail or email within 15 days of the auction. 2. If you decide to send any lot for expertization we must be notified in writing via email or mail within 15 days of the auction. For any item expertized as ‘not genuine’ we will refund the cost up to $100.
