The Gewehr 98 Pattern of rifles were revolutionary, combining several improved bolt action concepts (Cock on open, controlled feed double stack magazines, a third locking lug at the rear of the bolt, etc) into one of the greatest bolt action infantry rifles ever created. This example was made early in WWI at the Spandau Arsenal in berlin. All parts appear to be SN matching besides the bolt. The Receiver is “In the white” and the stock appears to have been sealed in laquer. This rifle comes with an original sling, muzzle cap, and a cleaning rod. Appears to be in good working order.
